I come from an italian family where it's pretty normal for children to live with their parents well into their 20s or 30s, until they're ready to start a family of their own, and it's saved me from crippling debt and kept me from going through a "fuck you mom and dad" phase, but fuck if you can ever convince a chick to date someone who lives with their parents. There's so much stigma around that alone.
And then you keep working until you actually can afford a place of your own, but then it feels like such a waste to move out and pay rent or buy a house when you would just be living alone until you met the increasingly rare woman good enough to start a family with, so it turns into a catch-22.
