Me. I'm an oldfag born in the 80s. Saw lots of movies at the drive through as a kid.
First movie i remember seeing was Top Gun or Spaceballs. Was a great place to go and just chill in the car.
Once I went with my older brother and his friend. They showed me a pornmag. Was more interested in that than the movie- think it was Days of Thunder.
>

> drive through?
Shit, did my auto correct do that???

I have, theres still one up, down in Fl.
Forgot what movie i saw. I was anything but sober.

I saw Jury Duty in a drive- in.

some asshole dudebros were being shitty so my dad hucked a giant hard pretzel at them.

Live like 15 minutes from one but havent been in years.

I'm old as fuck, and I remember seeing Mary Poppins at the drive-in as a kid. I went in high school too, with my girlfriend, but I don't remember the movies because we were too busy fucking.

I have once and only once and it was the greatest experience of my meager life.

there is a drive-in literally down my street (5 minutes), but i have never been to it.

I go pretty much every week during the summer usually

I ate my first pussy at a drive-in movie.

My very first movie was at a drive-in - Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
Saw it in 1978.
Been to a lot since then.

in the future they will have tvs in drive-thru lanes so people dont have to think about what they are doing.

I have two within 30 minutes from me. Go at least 5 or 6 times a year.

y faggot?

I went to a drive-in in Memphis last Halloween. It was not as cool of an experience as I thought it would be.

I have, infact I go quite a few times a year, theres one about 30 miles away on the other side of Birmingham, AL

I have one still running like 5 mins from my house I go to it all the time

There was one still running about 15 minutes from my college back in PA. Went once with the craziest girl I ever dated. It was fun, especially if you prep and make a whole deal of it (pillows and shit in the back of a truck or SUV). I wish they were still popular.

did you get drunk, high, or sex a bitch? if not then youre missing the entire point of going to one.

I know you're lying because nobody would call a New Hope episode 4

agreed. fishy story.

Several times as a kid.
Over rated nostalgia.
Indoor theaters are better.

See It's called Episode IV: A New Hope you moron.

Yeah, there's one open by my parents house in the country. Nothing better than carload night and bringing booze in the cooler.

if you want to get killed by an angsty liberal with weapons of war.

>Nobody would ever call a movie by its name

that's the official title but no one actually calls it that. you must be a communist agent or something, and youre not very good at blending into our culture, youre going to get made easily

Holy shit your autism is open and flapping in the wind.

wind powered by your triggered butthurt. go to bed kiddo, you have a long day of 4th grade tomorrow. you dont want to have to do summer school again, do you?

Was it as salty as the popcorn?

Back in 1977, a bunch of us went to an X-Rated drive in in the middle of nowhere near Eaton, OH. None of us were 18, even if we were, it cost $10 a person to get in. This is back when the minimum wage at Chik-Fil_ was $1.55/hr. Anyway, this place was extremely low rent and the guy who was in the entrance ticket booth, would set up saw horse barriers across the entrance road after he closed down the ticket booth. He was also the projectionist and operated the snack bar... one guy did everything.

Anyway we were parked far enough away on the country road so that we could see when he closed down the ticket booth and set up the barriers at the entrance road. He was busy getting the movie started and selling pop corn, lube, rubbers, and dildos. The snackbar was expensive as fuck too. The sex related stuff was in the display case next to the candy. There was no way any of us were going to get popcorn with extra "butter". We'd brought 12 packs of beer anyway.

We BACKED in through the exit with our lights off like something out of a Three Stooges skit. He couldn't block the exit after all.

It was surreal watching porn for the first time on a huge screen. What made it even creepier was that there was old playground equipment in the overgrown grassy area right in front of the screen.

>kiddo
Okay sport. Time for you to get off your parents computer.
You got a big day of being fucking retarded again tomorrow.

Creepy as fuck with the playground equipment.

it's not my parents' computer anymore, they gave it to me! haha

any cheap guys here who would try to watch from the street with the radio tuned in?

My apologies then.

Does it blow your mind that i am fapping to porn while simultaneously reading your stories of drive in movies . I couldn't imagine doing that but it sounds fun.

no but we hid people in the trunk quite often

accepted.

At one time it was a normal drive in but around'76-'77 people started getting cable with HBO. Drive ins started closing fast because families stayed at home. This place was usually packed though. LOTS of customized vans.

Yup, back when they first got the fm broadcasters, they had the power too high.
We'd get on top of the roof and listen with the radio about half a mile away.
Eventually had to do it at a friend's house to hear it, she lived right across the street from it.

Born in '86. Had one locally that shut down when I was 4 and another that still shows today about 20 minutes away. Never had any wired speakers so it was all on a radio station. I enjoyed it. As a family we would have a cookout before the movie. Seen Species 2 when it came out as a kid and the sex scenes blew my little fucking mind. Seeing towering titties was awesome.

Yeah, we used to have about 30-40 in this state, now we got 7 or so.

thanks obama!

OP here - amazed at how many still operating drive-ins are being reported here. I really thought they were about extinct.

They are far and few between in more developed areas. I love them.

That which is dead cannot die.

A guy just opened a 4 screen drive in near us, about 20 minutes away. I've yet to go though.

typed out a long ass response. did something and got backspaced. So here is the short version.
First time, first grade me in the 90's. Waynes world with the parents and a hottie girl from next door. parents set us up onto the roof of the car with blankets and pillow. she gets bored asks to just look up at stars, now later in life realize she must have been a few years older then me. slowly slip down her panties and touch her fat tight pussy lips. Thats it. Cant stand for roast beef pussy forever then. Go home. Parents confront me a few days later, she must have said something. I say no. They believe and stand up for me, next door neighbors move away very soon after that.

back in the 70's it wasn't called 'a new hope' dummy, so it wasn't "its name" back then

I always wanted to hook my Xbox up to a movie theater and play.
We have a projector, we'd set it up outside for split screen Halo on a 10' screen, and it was awesome.
I can imagine playing games on a drive in screen.

several years ago our local one was going to shut down because they needed $250k or something ridiculous to switch to the digital projector stuff. It's a fairly small community but they raised the money easily.

Imagine a cube, screens opposite each other playing one movie and the other opposite screens playing a different movie. great concept but the screens are a LOT smaller that the old one screen drive ins,

the last few remaining won't last long, because some of them are being run as nostalgia hobbies, but they're getting forced to install expensive digital projectors because the studios won't distribute anything anymore in the old formats

>doesnt know about ctrl+z
lol really??

The title was changed in '78. Try to not be retarded.

All of them have switched over to digital projectors.

ctrl-z is the fukking katz balz.

dubs ckekkd

That would be awesome.

Saw a few movies in the 70s and 80s. I remember seeing Raiders of the Lost Ark and something else, maybe Superman III, on a double bill. But I was looking over at another screen nearby, which was showing Screwballs. I will forever remember watching the geek in that movie get a bowling ball stuck on his boner during a nude bowling game. I didn't have sound for that movie, so I didn't know what the fuck was going on, plus I was only 7 or 8, but I remember trying to watch Raiders and look over at Screwballs at the same time.

I think I saw Gremlins at the drive-in, too. I can't remember now.

nice dubs, im fucked up...my bad

my local one does retro movies once in a while, went and saw topgun and FBDO last weekend.

Last time I saw a movie at the drive in was when I was 4 in 1978. Saw Bambi. Haven't seen Bambi since.

Not counting of course any porn stars who've happened to be named Bambi, that is...

In about '76 or '77 I remember going to see Missouri Breaks with my parents in the 63 Impala convertible. I was like 9 or 10.

I kept getting distracted by the movie on the other screen that had titties. But it was weird cause someone was stomping the titties with a bootheel. Super violent murderous like.

I never got to the bottom of that. What kind of movie has titties being stomped by a bootheel? Anyways I had to stop watching cause mom caught me looking and made me stop watching the tittie stomp movie.

I wonder what movie that was? Any elderfags in here remember it?

No. I never have.

Last week.
My friend's parents own it.
Build it 7 years ago, has 2 screens, they play new movies and you get a double feature. They have throwback nights and show old movie during the winter and holidays. Audio come over your cars radio and it really is the best place to go to get cozy with someone.

The Showboat drive in Hockley TX

Also to add on.

A lot of drive-ins had to shutdown a few years back due to film reels being discontinued. Everything went to LaserDisc and almost every mom and pop Drive-In could not afford a new 100000$ LaserDisc projector. The ones that survived are still paying for them. If you go to a family owned one spend some money there, they put themselves in a lot of debt to keep something awesome alive.

Fuck me dude, I'm over in Brenham and didn't even realize we had a drive in so close. I'll have to check it out.

Life is good
