>What gunwould you buy if you had $5,000 dollars Sup Forums?

scar-16s and a fancy thermal scope

A quality AR-15: $1000
A quality red dot sight: $500
10 Pmags: $200
Misc stuff like cleaning kit, 2-point-sling, vertical grip: $200

The rest for ammo and range-time.

winchester model 12

bust those birds

You can get parts kits for far less than $1000. I built mine for $650.

martini henry and a webley mk 4

oh, and also a L1A1

ill buy bitcoin , and in a month cash out my x2 gains.

No idea what they cost (britfag so can't buy nice toys) but the ar 15 always looks the business I'd buy one of those if I didn't live in a police state and could get 20 years for owning an illegal firearm

Were the cost of the tools needed and time spent less than $351?

sabu 50 cal

No fuckin american trash stuff pls
SIG 550 max scatter on 300m is 11cm from factory.
With the 5k budget you'll get some fancy toys for your rifle too.

Invest in pic related - H&K SP5K.
Civilian marker version of an MP5K.
>About $2200.
>File for a SBR with the ATF. $200
>Buy a foregrip for $60.
>Buy a H&K folding stock. $160

Win big when the value jumps 200%.
Meanwhile, enjoy a world class close combat weapon that's one of the choices of professionals.

a basic handgun and about 4500 bucks worth of ammo to train with.

Get a PS90 and SBR it

I have a sig 556 swat, i am near the end of a 10,000 round stress test (about 1000 rds left), havent cleaned it once, only small ammounts of oil on high-fricion areas. Still going strong, you just flip the pressure valve on the gas tube as a quick carbon purge, good to go. Will never buy another AR after this. SCAR is a similar build, if i had the money i would buy one.

You can do it with a $20 amazon ar multi tool, needle nose, and channal locking wrench

What do you actually want to use the gun for?!

This is the most important question and you need to answer it before you are steered in the right direction

>Ak-47
You don't have to do maintenance and it's by far the easiest thing to use, the first time I held one I hit my target exactly in the middle. If I could I would buy one without thinking but they are expensive as fuck in my country and I need a special licence to buy high caliber semi-automatic guns

but what will you do with the extra 4,950$?

hahaha, my sides!!!

Buy tendies

i would buy multiple mausers for a collection

>not vodka and tracksuits

liar

Have you ever shot one? I did when I went to Florida, Vietnam won the war for a reason

With 8 grand you don't buy a gun, you buy several. Get an AR with good reviews for around $1000. Don't bother worrying that its not the best of the best, its going to be more accurate than you for years. Get a Glock or other similar, striker fired handgun chambered in 9mm. Don't spend more than $500 on it, go ahead and buy a used one if you want. Now spend your remaining $3500 on range time and ammo. Shoot as much as you possibly can, maybe even rent a few guns to figure out what you like. The next time you have a couple grand in spare change you'll know exactly what you want and you'll be able to make use of it.

Kek

Kris vector. Versatile. Accurate.adaptable. compact.

Fucking perfection.

I own several. I am also a gunsmith and firearms instructor. I have seen my fair share of Ak pattern rifles.

You have no idea what I even found humorous.

>vector
OH YEAHHH

>Vietnam won the war for a reason

>Americans used a Russian gun as standard issue during a war
Kekd

he was talking about the vietcong, moron

Why? I already own one

Honestly I'd go for a bunch of cheaper ones as opposed to one expensive one

Shit like the Mosin Nagant, sig sp2022, GSG ak and just shit you can fuck around with

Also if you buy one now you get free optics lol

vector is a pretty slick gun.

What are you looking to do? If its just fun and plinking primarily then the 10/22 takedown is nice because its a 10/22.
To be king
> get the 10/22 takedown model (backpack easymode)
> get GEMTECH MIST-22 Silencer (integrally suppressed barrel)
>MAGPUL X-22 Backpacker stock

And you got yourself a tacticool king of the plink range 22 you can dump ammo with and not cost an arm and a leg.

Die already old guys!

Respect.

> 2017
> pleb not buying rifle caliber sbr
> "choice of professionals" in 1990 before something better came along.

...

Meh again very overated.
Not based on the gun itself but the chamberings its available in.

All pistol chamberings are basically meant for concealed carry.
If you are going to open carry something as big as a kriss you might aswell get something better. Like a SBR

pistol caliber carbines have their place.

Though given a choice I would almost universally pick an intermediate cartridge.

>Vector

>better

No such thing as better. CQC is the future of all combat.

Long=dead

>Long=dead
I do not agree with this at all.

Having recently been outside the wire long range engagements will never be a thing of the past.

>implying OP is headed to a warzone across the sea

Seriously? OP is talking personal defense and *possibly* civil war in a civilized nation. That's all gonna be urban guerilla fighting. Thus CQC.

no, wrong. just fucking wrong.

You are talking out of your ass. Urban warfare is not cqc.

I can't even take you seriously after that.

First no this isn't a movie nor some faggoty ass video game fantasy.
Second the Israelis have been using 16 inch barrels off the m4 platform for decades to kill sandniggers in urban areas.
Third the SBR chambered in 300 blackout I had pictured is shorter than kriss you had pictured.

You're high

Yeah because everyone is going to go find the long straight roads, stand at opposite ends and shoot at each other.

Gg

The fuck are you even talking about?

Look, it is clear as day that you have never been in a war zone, urban or otherwise. If you have then you wouldn't be spouting this nonsense.

And since the captcha's have now become sentient I am through with your paper shooting ass.

Agree with user That is why the military is considering upping the caliber choice of the M4 in the US.
Either going with the 7.62x51 or some intermediary choice.
mfw its an AR chambered in 308 the same lenght as your kriss.

Whats that have to do with anything?

Id have to spend half of that on licensing

Urban warfare is bomb the shit out of them + Snipers = Dead faggots running around in the streets with anything else.

Go to /k/. Get a real answer

Except for the fact that just this last week they ended their analysis and concluded that they will not be shifting away from 5.56 NATO afterall. They found no significant gains to be had - 5.56 is here to stay for the forseeable future.

Maybe some English lessons first

Also worth noting thats a special snowflake rifle and offers absolutely no benefit because barrel is too short to burn all the powder of a .308 round. Its literally a big downgrade.

...

>Rifle-caliber short-barreled rifle

If you like range, go for a FN SCAR 17s. You should have enough to get some nice optics as well.

If you like old, get an FN FAL and a Mosin (just for shits and giggles).

If you like new and compact, get an FN P90 and Five-seveN. Your ammo might be a bit expensive, but they're an awesome combo.

what barrel length is the gun you speak of?

Dd v11 pro, any trijicon sight you like, surefire torch. And the rest in ammo for actual training. Nice gun is useless without several thousand rounds of professional training. Source: I'm a law enforcement firearms instructor

Agreed

7.62x51 (fuck you and the guy through the wall behind you option)
5.56x45 (ok at cqb but better in 223 with more hp options)
9x19 (chode tier for anything designed to shoulder)

>OP is talking personal defense and *possibly* civil war in a civilized nation.
>Implying OP said anything at all about that.

Some major league faggotry right here.

That's full metal jacket ammunition numb nuts. I don't know anyone stateside that uses fmj for anything but practice. We civilians are not limited to fmj

FN faggot fanboi.

Whats the point of a P90 if its full length and semi auto? Whats the point of 5.7 if you cant reasonably obtain the steel core ammo that the entire round is designed around? You are paying extra and getting absofuckinglutely no benefit.

The only way youd be fine is if you got a REAL p90 (ie; not the full length ps90 us plebs can buy) and steel core ammo - which is so difficult and prohibitly expensive that you are not getting either for under 5k

Fuck off.

Looks like 14", hard to tell. Likely 16" because anything under means a fuckload of ATF paperwork and taxstamps.

14inches is plenty for 308 win. it can go down to 13.5 and remain effective.

and it is one form to sbr a rifle. not tons. 200 bucks for the stamp

>can literally take any AR style rifle and SBR it
>not choosing to buy and own a classic that will grow in value.

but opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one.
I actually own a MR556 SBR, a HK94 SBR, a HK93 SBR. an SP89 SBR, and a USC SBR, =P

I know for fact which one is cheapest to shoot and the family enjoys shooting the most.

Fair point about it not reaching full potential.
Despite that your still looking at 2200 to 2600 Ft. lbs. at the muzzle so the argument is invalid.

Romanian PSL and a Bren ten
pic unrelated

also, I will let slide the whole powder burn comment as it has been proven time and time again that in almost every rifle load the powder burns completely within the first couple inches.

suuuper gay

Looks like something you would use to kill vampires, I like that

...

why shank someone in prison, when you can fashion a makeshift gat and pop a cap in they ass?

>a fuckload of ATF paperwork

this fag has no idea of what he talking about

Was that crafted in a prison? lol

If money is no object get a race gun.

speaks the truth

It's legal to have the barrel shortened in quite a number of states, ya fucktard. And it's still a great bullpup rifle even in semi auto.

Also, the recoil is substantially smaller than 9mm, they're less heavy and the high velocity of the 5.7 round is quite enjoyable to shoot with. But I get it, it's not everyone's cup of tea.

My list was mostly aimed at places that only allow semi-automatic anyway.

But yeah, I'm a giant FN faggot fanboi though.

Oh beautiful for spacious skies

5,56 goes faster, so it damages tissue more
7,62 is heavier, so it penetrates more
9 is going faster that 45, so look 5,56

FN makes some good stuff just don't suck their dicks too hard.

please, for the love of all things true. STOP answering shit if you are only guessing.

5.56 is fast. speed beats armor. not weight. also, it is known that the 5.56 does not typically kill by energy dispersion. It kills by way of yaw inside the body tissue.

7.62 is heavier and it imparts more energy into the target. it in no way penetrates more than 5.56.

sorry, yaw and tumbling.

still makes 5,56 better

better?

better for what?

Even 223/556 is risky for over penetration indoors if your using fmj.
But that is why they have bullets designed to expand.

killing individuals
im pretty sure u gonna have a problem with that every time u pick a rifle for indoors.

this is true, but with 5.56 even the self defense rounds are cooking along so fast that they simply can not disperse their energy into a target at close range fast enough.

It is risky. But if you know what lies behind certain walls in your home you can plan accordingly.

...

5.56 is actually not ideal for killing.

It very frequently on the battlefield will simply penetrate and do little damage.

Now this doesn't mean it is not effective. it has killed more men than many other calibers combined.

But there are plenty of better choices.
