Laughing Stock used to be my favorite album. I can't tell if I overplayed it and got permanently burnt out 5 years ago, or I just realized it was sort of boring. So I have no idea if I agree. New Grass is still beautiful, though.

Funny because the opposite sort of happened to me. Didn't care for it first time, thought it was boring and started claiming it was overrated etc, but I've revisited it a couple times since and now, a couple years later, I consider it my favourite album. For me it improves slightly with ever listen, tho I don't listen to it very regularly because I don't want to overplay it like you said, although considering the amount I have listened to it in the past couple of years, if this were another album I'd probably be bored of it by now, but this obviously isn't the same as most albums.
