> Sanders campaign down to less than $6 million in cash

(AP Photo/Susan Montoya Bryan) More >Bernie Sanders' campaign had less than $6 million at the start of May, a critical cash shortage as he makes an admittedly tough final play to wrest the Democratic presidential nomination from Hillary Clinton.
>Sanders' rival had five times as much money, according to new Federal Election Commission filings, beginning the month with $30 million in the bank.
>The two were on roughly equal fundraising footing last month, with Clinton and Sanders each raising more than $25 million. But the Vermont senator spent almost $39 million to Clinton's $24 million, the reports showed.
>This year, Sanders has averaged more than $40 million in spending per month, underlining how quickly he could blow through the cash he had on hand at the beginning of May.
>Since he started his presidential bid, Sanders has spent nearly $207 million, about $25 million more than Clinton's $182 million in expenditures. For her part, Clinton has averaged $26 million in spending per month since January.
>Sanders' heavy campaign spending wasn't a problem when his online supporters were minting him money. But now that his fundraising has dropped, his high burn rate could hurt his chance to continue competing.
Since his wife ran that college into the ground you'd think people would wise up, but then anyone who thinks "MUH FREE SHIT" is a feasible political philosophy can't be real good with money.
Adrian Smith
Are you rich? Even if you are why don't you like free stuff?

No way...these are all shills pretending to donate. There is no way anybody could be this stupid and still able to use a computer.
You know what, we should join them. We should all post that we donated outrageous amounts of money even though we can hardly afford it and encourage others to do the same. Suck these idiots completely dry before the old man drops out.
Asher Gonzalez

maybe they work for TV stations in California
whatever gets donated is just going to get redistributed to you in payment for advertisements
Ayden Scott
>his high Bern rate could hurt his chance to continue competing
Elijah Roberts
If you're rich you'll be the one providing free shit.
Samuel Hill
Fucking this
I used to agree with him on that aspect but now, after all the money that Jeb and Sanders had, I realize that buying elections is a total myth if the opponent is competent
Aiden Taylor
I'm not rich and the rich can afford to give up their bugatti to help the poor
William Butler
>Stepcheng 16 points 4 hours ago >Just donated $100 but I'm very close to my limit
>$2700 max individual contribution >this idiot gave over $2000 to Bernie Sanders
Evan Ortiz
HOW'S HE GUNNA GET NEW RIMS AND BUCKET SEATS FOR HIS NEW WHIP?!
Caleb Wilson
>commie blowing other people money
Dylan Rivera
I think quite a few have maxed out
Aaron Smith
Now this is interesting, since Clinton is refusing to debate they are trying to meme a Trump v Bernie debate into existence.
>why don't you like free stuff? because "free stuff" effects us in more ways than one >the rich can afford to give up their bugatti to help the poor are you 10?
This would make sense if it was a "bugatti tax", but this is a tax on income. I could be a millionaire driving used cars (as most of them do, thats why they got rich) and i'd still be taxed out my fucking asshole.

Actually at this point it's better to not. All of Bernie's money might end up going to Hillary.
Cooper Walker
>Hmm how can we win the primary? I know, let's ignore our only competition, who is doing far better than we are, and go after the republican nominee as if we've already won! These people are legitimately fucking braindead.
Nicholas Stewart
>6 million top kek

>Be a commie Jew >blow over $200 million >lose

What's the obsession with $27? I see it everytime I go to that awful subreddit
Ryder Martin
>6 million. The memes are real
Oliver Diaz
The "poor" in this country live like kings compared to people in Bolivia or Mozambique. You should give up whatever luxuries you have as an American to improve their lives. Deal?
Hudson Brown
Because taxpayers will be paying for this "free" shit.
David Anderson
QUICK! I JUST DONATED 30 DOLLARS OF MY WIFE'S SONS ALLOWANCE WITHOUT HIM KNOWING, MATCH ME! WE ONLY NEED 85% OF THE VOTE IN CALIFORNIA GUYS!
Jonathan Price
But he's horrible with his money. I think he's raised over $200 million or so and now down to $6 million.
Xavier Scott
>be commie jew >net worth be Trump >$557 million income in 2015
Adam Carter
Jeb just has legit autism
Jaxon White
I hope someone out there is making a collage of all these reddit donation posts to contrast with the inevitable rage posts when Bernie drops and Hillary wins.
Cameron Martin
>muh 6 million
Aiden Lewis
Kek.
Berniefags are pretty much a meme at this point.
Ryan Rodriguez
It was some nonsense calculation months ago that if everybody donated $27 Bernie would win.
Chase Moore
Trump got more than he spent back by selling his merchandise by the way. He sold over a million hats alone. So he actually made a profit off his campaign. First candidate ever to pull this off.
Easton Hall
I just took out a second mortgage on my house and closed out my 401k to donate to Bernie! And I quit my job to campaign for Him 24/7! Who's going to match me? :3 :D
Justin Moore
>complains about money in politics >blows off more money than Jeb Fucking Bush How the fuck can anyone take him seriously? Doesn't help either that he takes millions from labor unions (which I'm sure he justifies as being "people" too like Romney did with corporations).
Gabriel Jones
I think it's the average of donaters so far and some statement about 1% of the max $2,700 donation
Landon Adams
>if we throw money at him eventually he'll win yeah sounds retarded enough to be truth
Grayson Bennett
>"Come on, stupid Goy! My car loan won't pay for itself.

>people think bernie can win
Thank you for distracting hillary for us
Kayden Wright
What is he even spending money on? TV ads?
It doesn't cost that much to bus around a state and speak in public venues.
Kayden Cook
I was hoping someone would do that instead of just cropping single comments
>somebody goes against the rabid hivemind, suggests maybe donating is not the way to go at this point >SHILL SHILL SHILL GET OUT GET OUT REEEEEEEEEEE Who are the real shills?
Jaxson Hall
This. Where the fuck does he keep blowing all this money at?

Even if the pic was real, he has my vote for such good taste in mid range super cars.
>he could've bought a z06
Hudson Adams
>(which I'm sure he justifies as being "people" too like Romney did with corporations).
Citizens United did consider corporations people.
I would just love to rub it in Liberals' faces who whine about Citizens United case when Trump wins with the smallest amount of money

i thought $27 was the average donation amount or something
Adrian Stewart

He doesn't even pay them $15, but $12. It's funny to hear his supporter's defense for that, too:
>"But it's not a real job!" Hmmm... I think I heard this before.
Thomas Richardson
Not to mention them supporting a woman who's taken hundreds of millions from big banks and foreign governments.
I really hope Trump exposes all her shady shit and the FBI fills more charges against her in the fall.
Sebastian Garcia
What in the absolute fuck is he spending it on?
Clearly not ads, clearly not any kind of online campaigning. Where the fuck is all that money going??
Landon Sanders
whats all those users ranking? all the reddit pages have those?
Parker Hernandez
Media billings, staff salaries, venue fees and a shit load of miscellaneous costs.
Americans have built a system where only the moneyed can win influence, and that's why they're so fucked.
Brody Morris
and yet this kike accepts donations and collaborates withhis master, soros. lol

Hadn't even thought of that.
>Paying a bunch of retards to do basically nothing, and going broke.
Yea he's a socialist alright.
Camden Edwards
kek, the comments:
>I have already donated today. But, heck, I'm going to again today! Some people are saying we don't have a chance, those people are the non believers. Donated $18.50! Match me!
>Just donated $100 but I'm very close to my limit
Xavier Cox
Pot yfw you've never donated any money to a political campaign (besides buying a MAGA hat of course)
Gabriel Sanchez
He had that worthless trip to the Vatican that did nothing and no one remembers.
He did layoff 800 workers or volunteers in states that had primaries already and to focus on California
I don't know if he did pay $15/hour anyways. His supporters defended him paying interns less than $15 saying they're lucky to even be paid.
They really fucking are, their hubris is so great that they just wrote off the fight against Clinton completely and they've spent the entire campaign fighting us while she stomped their faggot candidate.
Blake Lee
Just fucking imagine being a Sanders supporter. Remember how shitty that week was when Trump lost 3 or so states in a row?
Now imagine that lasting for months, AND you pissed away hundreds of dollars donating.
Tyler Campbell
>But he's horrible with his money. I think he's raised over $200 million or so and now down to $6 million. The primary campaign is almost over. There's no reason for him to have any money leftover after last month.
Joseph Nguyen
...
Brayden Peterson
HA, at least some see it correctly
>As a stone cold Bernie supporter, this would be an awful idea. Trump is a troll, and HE IS ALREADY THE NOMINEE. >He would consistently hammer Bernie on how he's not the democratic nominee, and how he's currently losing the primary by what some would consider an insurmountable margin. Trump would say it over and over and over again. He would not discuss a single issue. He would talk about how this is his warm-up for when Hillary finally is ready to debate him. He would act completely dismissive of Bernie, and so would the MSM, and Hillary will come out on Twitter with some rallying cry, "When you're ready to face your real competition, I'm here!"
Joseph Bailey
Sounds like you described Sup Forums tbf
Luis Reyes
Kek, same here
Aiden Taylor
Delicious
Caleb Brown
>tfw when I donated to Ron Paul Well, it was just once and early in the campaign.
Justin Parker
I don't think anyone here is rabidly pushing people to donate to Trump though. He has more than enough of his own money and doesn't seem to waste it all like an imbecile.
Jackson Cook
...
Cooper Nelson
When they say "i'm close to my limit", they don't mean $2700 dollars... do they?
Gavin Hernandez
Bah, Trump is getting all the attention because he says yes to every interview and show appearance.
Clinton just gave an interview the other day, I can't remember her last.
I don't even remember the last time Sanders was on TV
Ethan Scott
Ron Paul was at least a respectable guy to support unlike Bernie >tfw never got to see pic related
Jace Jackson
>The Sanders campaign began taking steps late last month to downsize its operation. He reduced his payroll from about 1,000 to fewer than 400 employees.
every single time
Brandon Gutierrez
They mean they won't have money for food because they gave it all to Bernie.
Adam White
To support the DNC against Trump?
Colton Cooper
It's beautiful isn't it? Trump brings up ratings, so everyone wants to interview him, so he accepts most of them and gets free press to push his talking points to the public. Barely anyone wants to interview clinton because they more they see her, the worse she gets (it's like Rato).
