do you work most days of the year? what's the schedule like?

Does it matter what anyone else is earning?

Mostly 7 days a week. Schedule totally depends on the project, some days i get up at 4:30, some days i'll sleep till 3 in the afternoon. Lately been pulling 18hr days because for the first time ever, i'm dealing with employees.

I have a degree in computer science too. Be a programmer and do lots of BA tasks (writing requirements) and try to get closer to the decision makers of the software you're building. Eventually the engineers will come to you for requirements and you can call yourself a junior PM.

Sales isn't really a good place to start from as it's mostly people that can't code and engineers won't respect them as a PM.

Don't look at entry level pay and think you wasted your time man. You're putting work in for the future. You made more at the supermarket, but you'll never make more than a few dollars over that by working at the super market. Grind through the hard shit and stay focused, you'll make your money if you're better than your peers.

I'm debating if I should quit and find a new job, I'm starting to fall in a depression over my future....

Yeah, I'm thinking of going for a compsci masters. Think it would help? I'm a good programmer but know that theres a big gap between talent and professional experience.

One thing I'm also hoping might help is that I only handle complex/enterprise level sales to Fortune 500 companies and have been successful at it (i.e. done for the year already and pulling in six figures)

your a manager and you get paid $12/hr ?

Why go into pm then? Sounds like you're already doing well

Sales is underrated. A comp sci masters is definitely useful, I'd love to get one but I have bills to pay and retirement to save for

Agree with the other poster. Sales isn't the best move unless you get into more technical sales / sales engineering where you are helping with implementation. Is that the case, or are you more on the account management side?

Comp Sci Masters could help, as could an MBA, but I'd consider just being a software engineer for 1-2 years.

for the first job out of uni I'm more or less satisfied. hours are relaxed, great colleagues and in the city I wanted.

350k??

That's insane

Damn that's retarded. Even if you did make 130k, I'm sure that's before taxes. Whic means you are making about 80k. And then after expenses how much could you possibly put towards your debt per year....10-15k?

Fuck that.

nope. state school with in-state tuition. the good news is that dentists' salaries can go up alot from there. toward ~300k/year or more.

Having that much debt accumulated scares the shit out of me though. Alot of doctors and dentists come out with that much, though.
