Very comfy. Listened to summer web surfing and it reminds me of every Zoobook cover
Too chill for my taste, but it's definitely something to veg out to on a rainy day.
Listened to "the name he shall not receive" earlier. Dope track.

Love the quality of the vocals. The flow was superb as well.
I'm new to the whole mashup/ remix stuff. This is my first attempt. Your thoughts ?

Not sure how else to describe my music. Fairly new to producing so the mixes are a little rough. Let me know what you think if you give the two tracks in the link a listen.

"WHAT I THINK" is a bit too chill for me too. I also feel like the lo-fi kills the track completely and the mix is very bad, especially if you listen to it on the speakers. It's way too quiet imho. I wish there was more going on but if it's your way then I'm fine with it.
>the name he shall not receive
It's not terrible at all. But these vocal samples... I just couldn't get to them, at all. They are way too annoying, at least to me. But the rest is surprisingly solid, although a bit more of a beat variety would make it golden.
I never was into rap music so I've accepted your challenge! The flow is indeed nice and the clearness in the mix helps quite a bit (although I would make it a bit more messy for "dark" sake). Didn't like beginning much at all but it's just because I feel it doesn't mix well with the rest of the track. Then again, I'm not against it completely - I just feel it could be a bit more well executed if you catch my drill. Wouldn't say it's much "experimental" give or take but it's quite interesting to hear something like that done here. You should really consider attaching lyrics to your tracks, it would help a lot for non-English native like me.
'Tis a good furry. Weird and way too sweet for me personally but anything that gives me even remotely vibes of Mr. Oizo gets my credit. I would actually like to hear that kind of production on some dark, groovier track.
OH wait shit Im not a furry. Maybe I have to change my profile Pic, I think I'm starting to head down the wrong subgenre rabbit hole
soundcloud.com
Some gay hip hop/emo fusion. I think it's cool though. Let me know if y'all like it.
This is hella chill, I like it a lot. Maybe chill on the filters just a lilllllll bit and let the music breathe a little more. But I'd love to rap on this stuff.
Nah, just joking. I'm just worried you gonna get down a literal rabbit hole and that would be just no-no.
Continuing from the furry comment, I checked out your track and think it's really good. You've obviously got some production chops and the track is very spiritual/meditative. Look forward to checking out more later
>literal rabbit hole
Sometimes I make drone music.
Sometimes I make hard beats.
Sometimes I make mashups.
Sometimes it works.
Sometimes it does not.
Two things are constant:
I am always Tijil Dekonyak.
This is always NEETwave.
If I were you I would really sit down and experiment with voice cadence, and see what works best for you. Not bad though.
This is honestly really well done, you should try to score for movies or film.
This definitely has my attention, imma follow you somewhere and listen when that EP drop
soundcloud.com
>v a p o r w a v e
Well. It's NEETwave alright.
I think you should work on your vocals a tiny bit more. When you lay effects on them or add a second vocal part they sound a bit off to me. Especially work on the higher registers - they have that very teenage-y vibe. Other than that - track's basic but it works and does the job, I suppose. I don't see much "emo" in it but hell, it's fine as it is. Just work on your vocal parts.
It's still as bad as the last time I've heard it. This is still not what I feel vaporwave should sound like or should be represented by.

Not typically what I look for in ambaint music, but it defineitly does what it's trying to do. Good job.

FEEDBACK ON SOUNDCLOUD
Listening to the first track on Virtual Dream, the sweeping pad you have going on in the background is great. Also, the way the filter fades out after the segment at the beginning is wonderful. Shoutout for flawlessly mixing the PS2 boot noise into the track, I've wanted to build something around that little clip for ages and you pulled it off excellently.
What I Think is nice and mellow, I dig the vibe but I've got to agree with the one or two other people who have said to go a little easier on the low pass filter. Aside from that the quiet vinyl sort of crackle you laid over top gives the whole track a bit of warmth, good call.
Underestimated this a little because Soundcloud and hip-hop/rap producers have a kind of negative connotation in general. The beat reminds me of something that would've been on a Toonami bump back in the early 2000s and your delivery is killer. I'm not well versed enough in the world of hip-hop to compare you to any other artist in particular, but you give me hope for new rap music that isn't lazily constructed mumblecore.
Fun and a little different with all the weird samples thrown in, I like the twinkly synth lines in the highs. Makes me smile and want to bounce around. I like it.

Muzak for a Sunday evening smoke. A bit too montonous for me, the tracks have enough subtle variations to them so that they don't become boring.
Very nice, the lead synth makes me want to play NES. Go with electronica, synth rock and maybe, just maybe Berliner Schule (think Tangerine Dream)
The usual recs:
Thanks man, I'm going to try "Synth Rock" in my genre field from now on

I really like your sounds, but I think the critical point I wanna make is that the mastering could be better. Bottom line is: I like your groove, the general style and arrangement. I wanna hear some 90's deep male vocal like depeche mode style.
This is awesome, top quality mate. Very nice.
Definitely got some new stuff going here, not sure if I dig it or not. I think you need to tone some of your sounds down a bit, so your vocals stand our clearer. Keep up the work though, you're onto something. How long you been producing?
Love the percussions, the glitch effects. Nice arrangement. Could use a bit more heaviness on the bass, maybe a harder kick. Overall good job.
Work on your mastering bro. How long you been making music for? General rule: always turn all tracks way down on the mixer, that leaves head room for mastering in the end, where you can use limiters, compressors or eqs to turn it back up without having the instruments noise over each other. Am I making sense?
Im actually posting this unironically, made a remix of Never Gonna Give You Up. Can´t really pin the genre but I would say that I have elements of disclosure and house.

Bumpin' with a track I finished putting together this morning.
Waaaay into this, flows kinda like a Tribe song or something off of Blowout Comb. Keep it up.
A little biased because I'm partial to this kind of stuff but I really like 'sweater'. Your voice is pretty and the chorus-heavy guitar sounds great. Vocal mix sounds really clear and clean on that track and all the tracks I've heard so far, and that's something I wish that artists of this genre of lo-fi did more often.
Not long at all. I use to just rely on somebody else to do that, but I'd say a little under a year.
vibe and cruise
I am trying to learn to make some nice dungeon synth, can you give me some advise, like what I need to learn to directly go to the music creation, taking into account that I will only use the computer (looking for buying a cheap keyboard, but while I save money I will use just the piano roll). I have many ideas, many melodies in my head but when I try to put them on screen I fail miserably.
I dont want to be a professional composer, just an amateur enjoying and expressing myself.
I dunno man, there is actually people who never studied music theory or armony, and actually they sell albums and songs in iTunes and so.
Also becoming a professional composer is not an option. I am 32yo and in my country the whole career is 14 years. And this is if they admit me in the conservatory. So when I end the career I would be 46 or even more, and there is a chance I woudnt even be alive by then.
Maybe not the best "advice" but I'll try and tackle it.
Stop making stuff on the piano roll if you don't have any sort of MIDI controller, that's for starters. Definitely get that keyboard but if you're looking for making sounds from the computer itself - get a MIDI controller, free VSTs, some effects and play around with them, learn their usage, quirks. Learn basics of music theory, just so you understand the triads, key signatures, things like that. It will be just easier to make stuff up for you. After that it's basically a grind. Grind with knowing your DAW, getting the melodies, recording them and working on the mixing. It will be quite hard at the beginning but after a while it will become much more understandable and natural. Start small, get to know what you are trying to achieve and, primery - don't expect any "success". Just enjoy yourself and have fun, others will follow with it.
Thanks, thats a good advice.

A question to people who made any amount of money on their music.
Do you use any pirated programs/plugins to make your music? Or original copies but without the commercial license? Have you ever had any problems because of that?
I'm using some pirated plugins, and I use a program that I only have on a personal use license, and I was wondering whether I still could upload my music to bandcamp. I planned to do this for free, but there is an option for donations, and I'm not sure whether that already requires commercial licenses or not.

>Do you use any pirated programs/plugins to make your music?
Yes.
>Have you ever had any problems because of that?
No bc I don't spread that info around.
>I use a program that I only have on a personal use license
Theoretically you can't use such a program OUTSIDE of personal use as stated in a licence itself. So you can't make something for monetary gain with it.

What could I improve for next time? Do you mean the drum backing on I never knew...myself?
That was the first time I programmed beats in Audacity and I'll try a lot harder next time. Thanks for the feedback.
Also my next track is possibly gonna have real vocals in it, not mine but someone's maybe, and I'll use real drum.
