So other than The Who, The Beach Boys, The Kinks, and The Velvet Underground, and the obvious pic related, are there even 60s rock bands worth listening to?

>inb4 the rolling stones
>inb4 the doors

They both suck something fierce.

Listen to the Stooges pleb

Credence Clearwater Revival

Dick Dale

King Crimson, Simon and Garfunkel

The Band.

THE BYRDS!!!!

Os Mutantes! The second best band of the 60s, only behind The Beatles.

youtube.com/watch?v=gfs9DC4GNr0

The Rolling Stones and The Doors wrote the best riffs in the 60s though. Stop being a faggot nu male.

The Kinks

This.

Traffic are really underrated.

The Beatles were more innovative and revolutionary in the studio, but The Rolling Stones were better musicians.

Yes

OP said The Kinks, you illiterate cunts

The stooges
The ventures
Love

never really listened to pink floyds 60s stuff. just 70s through 90s. is it actually worth a listen?

if you dont like exile on main you're probably some twink fag. I recommend the monkees.

>rock bands
>simon and garfunkel
i love them but they're not a rock band

clearwater is a national treasure. hes severly underated

>no mention of the Sonics in this thread
Tonight I will fall asleep disappointed.

Don't forget the mothers of invention!

The Monks are a must.

And The Ventures

Blind Faith

The Syd stuff is a lot different than their '70s stuff, but it's not bad. Never got into More/Ummagumma myself.

any song with naturally impressive and smooth guitar is amazing in my books. main reason I listen to floyd in the first place

>the rolling stones are bad
I don't even understand how you could like rock n' roll and not like The Stones.

In that case, you might not be into the early stuff, or at least the first album. Syd's guitar work isn't really "smooth" like Gilmour, it sounds more like psychedelic surf rock.

yes

You like those great bands but also dislike two amazing bands so I don't know how to judge your taste

>The Rolling Stones were better musicians
nigga gtfo The Beatles are better muscians

Possibly McCartney.

Early Pink Floyd

Definitely check out the Moody Blues.

John and George are kino musicians

the beatles were not that innovative in the studio

>he

The Stones are shit. The Doors are meh. I'm not OP btw,

small faces is a great pick

What kind of millennial even thinks that? I hope you don't think MBV, death grips or neutral milk hotel are better than the stones.

wut

Fuck off, The Doors are one of the best bands of the 60s. Here are my favorite 60s bands. The End is probably the finest song of that entire decade.

There's a ton of great shit from that decade and I've pretty much heard it all, but honestly I almost never find myself wanting to listen to 60's music anymore.

White Noise. Some crazy proto-industrial shit, most famous for the original Doctor Who theme song.

If the Stones and Doors are doing it for you, how about a couple of 60s groups with a bit more grit.

Red Krayola

The Sonics

Los Saicos

I'm shocked nobody's mentioned the Zombies - they're a pretty definitive 60s band

get out dad

The Animals

I like this guy, he has good taste

George couldn't play his own songs.

Monks

If you want GOAT 60s music you GOTTA check out the following bands..........

The Doors
The Rolling Stones

Both bands are ESSENTIAL listening!

To me The Doors are pleb and Goat at the same time

When you figure out how to into jazz and you will see why the '60s are the best decade in music

This. It is literally imposible.

Faggot probably only knows few hits like start me up or something.

68. - 72. albums are some of the greatest artistic achievements of 20th century ( any medium).
