respect. Good production and voice, it reminds me slightly of GZA
In the first track there were a couple spots at about the 50sec mark where the drums seemed to be off. "Four Interlude" has a nice energy, it fades out too soon/unexpectedly though. "To An Old Friend" and "Kindly" are cool. Overall I like the feel I think it could just use some refinement with mixing and a couple retakes on drums
here's my other project
hurry up and release an ep u nerd
it's rly interesting to have heard your progression as an artist over the hundreds of sc threads. ur getting to be pretty good
pretty rough around the edges, the drums stand out in a not so good way, and the vocals are mixed in such a way that they're totally drowned out at parts and even though you're going for the shoegaze approach, there are parts where the vocals might as well not even be there. hoping you put some focus into ur album tho, because there seems to be some potential here!
that simple square-ish lead doesn't fit too well, it could be more attention grabbing with some better sound design. the percussion timbre is kinda generic imo as well, are you using samples or did you make the percussion from scratch? that gated synth with the filter owns
not my cup of tea I think the sampling could be a bit less spastic and the beats over all aren't all that memorable
not too bad, vocals seem to be hit or miss for me. the harmonized vocals are a pretty good hit. neat to know that this is a solo project, I wouldn't have guessed that.
>FFO: LIL PEEP, GBC, WICCAPHASE
I think "FFO: THE PEOPLE WHO PRODUCE FOR LIL PEEP" would have been more accurate.
I like strawberrys more than laura, you should do more dream-pop
you have an interesting voice. clarify is groovy. this is good. keep making music!

Favs in this thread so far:
Night Before is fucking great.
'Nuclear Autumn' kinda reminds me of earlier Coldplay, which is always a good thing in my eyes. Great melody and chord progression on that track. Every single track exudes that early 2000s indie sound that I love very much. 'Welp' was another favourite. I skimmed through the tracks because there's so much to listen to in this thread, but I will definitely come back to this.

are you mcmangos
anyway I like that you mention on bandcamp that the synths sound stock, because they definitely do. your drum sequencing is good, I think you could make some great stuff with a solid, powerful VST. keep at it!
Thanks for the feedback, I'm That version of the song is a demo and I'm actually working on a more polished version at the moment! The percussion is a mix of samples from packs and things made/recorded from scratch, some of my samples for it are actually coins falling into a vending machine but heavily eq'd and fucked around with.
lol I wish I were mcmangos. Thanks for the listen, man! I'm still getting to learn all the synth VSTs I've l e g a l l y a c q u i r e d, you can probably expect something not as stock sounding when I'm more comfortable with them.
Guilt kinda reminds me of Treefingers, All the tracks seem very relaxing at a first skim-through. I'm totally streaming this on Spotify tonight.
sound design is fun! keep working on it 8)
wish I could recommend a free synth, but I use almost exclusively serum as my synth... loads of effect processors though. if you want a really fun free drum synth that I fucking love, look up dsk synthdrums. if you want to legally acquire a great drum synth, check out microtonic. both of these would be right up your idm-sequencing-alley

This is pretty neat. The production could be better, tune down the bass and embrace the lo-fi, maybe? Reminds me of something that would crackle over the AM radio of my grandads old farm truck :)
forgot pic
Clypit of my newest track. Badly need more advice. Been working, obsessing over this shit track for four weeks...
Last adv I got was to EQ the shit out of it...
I spent about 3 days EQing, mixing ,remixing, mastering and remastering over and over again...
Please tell me this track, which is not my original vision, is at least not complete shit
And another one...

I like this a lot! The songwriting is solid and works well with the style. I'm a big fan of alt-country and I definitely recognize that vibe in this album. I don't want to be presumptuous and assume that the bass and drum are synth, but I suspect they are. Either way, they sound very isolated and fake (even if they're real). I can't say how to solve the problem, but a cheap trick to mitigate it is making the guitar take up more earspace. Maybe doubletrack it, maybe add in some rhythm guitar on top? You can put a very subtle reverb on your synth drums to give them a sense of being in the same room as your other instruments. Maybe choose some drum samples that are a little less clean
cheatography.com
imo these tracks are crying out for vocals on them - all of them. You've got the production and instrumental side down great - like, really. I don't know if you want to go in this direction, but if you could flesh out the songwriting, maybe add a little more structure, maybe a melody then you could be making really quality indie rock. There. I got through this entire thing without ever mentioning pavement once.
