No.
Its just hit. Like the last album was.
I have it on repeat to let the songs sink in for real and I love it during. Currently on 3rd round.
The only thing I can't seem to let go is to focus on the shitty sound of the drums..
Still can't get over how shit How You Used To Do is but very impressed by the rest of it, it's different but its still as elaborate and good as any other good queens material
got a high 6 to a light 7 all over it, not mad just disappointed
Fucking drums man. Mark Rankin worked on Silent Alarm and the drums on that record were like a gut punch. I guess somebody messed up the mix, but in the few instances where the snare comes out, it's nice and reminiscent of Silent Alarm.
The performance, though, that's a whole other story. Criminally under performed on Theodore's part, like, what the fuck's the matter with that shitty trash cymbal. Jeez, dude, you were in Mars Volta and, hell, even One Day As A Lion, a hip hop project, sounds better than this.
My least favorite album, it literally ends with a whimper
>inb4 Like Clockwork does too
hurr durr I Appear Missing
love the cover, but like "like clockwork" its nothing special
You're right, it's a hit.
Fucking Ronson, man.
listened to QOTSA for 10 years, had really high hopes despite the mediocre singles
yeah it's shit
QotSA are a shit tier NME-core band, what did you expect OP?
>this instead of TCV 2.0
Yeah I'm mad.
I just got pic related edition in the mail yesterday and was able to put it on last night.
It's a 7/10 for me, has some pretty good tracks on it. Fortress, Head Like a Haunted House, and Un-Reborn Again are all solid. Hideaway and the closer were both kinda iffy, and I didn't mind eithr single upon release.
I keep hearing it's a grower, but I only gave it one front-to-back listen thus far. It kinda gives me a "mellow, yet dark" vibe, like they kept the themes from ...LC going, but added the groove and Ronson to the fray. It's an interesting release but, at the moment, I'm not sure how much I'll go back to it compared to the other records.
QOTSA have always had shitty sounding drums in record, it's annoying
this
this album is best while driving on highway and it's going darker and darker outside. atleast thats the way I can enjoy this album the most
heck ronson
>Always had shitty sounding drums
>SftD exists
Oh sweaty
Ronson fucked up. Good thing Queens are fucking amazing live.
This is a Foo Fighters album. Josh Homme has officially run out of ideas.
>tfw the last Eagles of Death Metal album is better than the newest QOTSA album
gieb download link pls
>mfw Fortress
You guys are retarded. This shit is good. And this is coming from someone who is dying for more Self-Titled.
im loving the new Arctic Monkeys album
>fortress
Bitch, that's the worst, most generic song in the whole album.
It's... alright, might give it one more listen and then delete it.
...Like Clockwork was a masterpiece, but this is just really really average.
>generic
Yeah because Queens are known for their fucking Violin intros. It's the most electronic sounding song on Villains but does it well.
The worst song is The Way You Used to Do. But even that is good for Swing Rock.
Don't reply to me, thanks.
The lyrics make me cringe.
this
its pretty much taken out of the Rockabilly scene
They're just a fancier Under My Umbrella
From :50 to 1:00 is just awful
Its a song about his daughter, for his daughter.
He's not in his late 20's any more when he could get away with Feel Good Hit.
No shit, and thats fine.
Just how blunt and over-dramatic the lyrics are and how they hit you in the first line mixed with the instrumental is just cringe. He could of done it better
It betrays the fact that this whole album is a big mid-life crisis
>LOOK GUYS
>I CAN STILL GROOVE
>I'M STILL "WITH IT"
>I EVEN HANG OUT WITH THIS DJ
Fucking good songs but its a hit and miss, its not their best but its a good one
I like it better than era vulgaris for sure honestly. Not as good as like clockwork imo
listened it for the second time rn. In the first time i felt it was a bland album, but on the second listening i'm appreciating it a little more
pleb spotted
brainlet
I wouldn't say it's a hit, but it's pretty good. You're right about Lc being a hit tho.
Im beginning to think we'll never get TCV 2.0.
Both Josh n Dave recorded at the same time, was really Jones that busy?
Are the drums really quiet for anyone else or am I being paranoid?
>Silent Alarm
God that was such a good album, and 50% of that was how amazing the mix was
They are, intentionally. Ronson a shit
>Get Jon Theodore
>Turn down the drums
Who made the calls for this fucking album?
Nah you're right.
I WAS BORN IN THE DESERT, MAYY 17 IN 73
...
Won't listen to it.
Becase Nick's not on it.
Wheres Dave?
Do someone have a link of the proper release? The leak was shit
Spotify
Its on spotify you dipshit
>link
>download
>file
then buy it you fucking cheap poor shit
Buy it, you jew.
>buying music
Wtf
Just get out of here you fucking 12 year old
I'll buy a physical release later it if I like it.
why dont you just fuck right off?
...Nicks not on it!
...Where's Dave?
I personally think its great. Not their best but it's what I'd expect from them. I like it.
Where does this anger come from user? You can talk to me, I feel a little pity for you, and I am mostly available now.
You know, being a lonely virgin with social anxiety and bad childhood is not a reason, there are other ways.
>mfw i show you where the gold is
Fucking torrent it you moron
Grohl was great on some songs, but he's right about the drums sounding like ass.
>using torrent
+ leaks versions everywhere on soulseek
CLOSE
COME CLOSE
The cd version is on TPB with a fuckton of seeders, 320 kbs, FLAC too.
It's revival gargage. At least every girl will appreciate this
>domesticated animals
Jesus that was bad.
The whole album was just kinda ehhh
Thanks mark. You fucking blew it
What? I thought that song was good.
Josh said he wanted to prune his fan base.
Well, he certainly did that.

Nope
Too many tracks that go in one ear and out the other without leaving much of an impression, especially in the second half.
It was better than I thought it was going to be after the lead single, but most of it goes in one ear and out the other. I've listened to it a few times now but not much of it sticks with me when I'm not listening to it. The riffs their first three albums get stuck in my head all day when I listen to them, and the later albums have plenty of memorable parts as well, but this doesn't stick at all.
It's enjoyable enough but not weird heavy or memorable. The best queens albums tend to be all 3, or at least 2 of em.
The only memorable thing out from this pile of garbage is The Way You Used to Do, and that's not a compliment
Cucked by Ronson
Youre thinking of rated r and era vulgaris

The marketing for this album was better than the album itself
You could also say this about Era Vulgaris desu

Haven't heard the new one.
I really loved the last album, it felt way more dark, gritty and sexy in comparison to this one. Its catchy as fuck but nothing so far has really stuck with me. Vaguely dissapointed
I do like this song
Naw man
At least we have this version of Villains Of Circumstance.
Can we all agree that even if this is not his best work is still strong as ALL the other albums of them? like their worst is still strong.
>that lack of td
REEEEEEEE
Oh absolutely. Josh knows how to write a banger or two and is trying his best to reach the bands highest points, and it's usually enjoyable, even if not amazing.
It helps that they don't really have like a definitive sound, other than the muddy/robotic guitars.
I'm giving the album a lot of shit, but I still like it. I don't think there's a single goddamn thing QOTSA has made that I didn't like.
someone more unemployed than me please spend a bit of a free time to make a "Virgin Mark Ronson / Chad Mark Lanegan" to explain what's gone wrong in QOTSA.
You have bad taste
and what exactly went wrong?
