How does it feel getting paid to not do shit.

Alright OP im joining the airforce myself i got 2 for you

1. I scored a near perfect,on my asvab (94) what job should i go for?
2. What expect from basic/airman week?

Ever fly a TR-3B?

Pretty damn good, I'm sitting around banking 3k a month and studying

Fart in someone's coffee, then put the lid back in it

1)Go for Space Systems Operations, 1C6X1. Cool job, good tech school, super marketable on the civie side.
2)It's gonna suck, but you'll live. Do your best to not draw attention to yourself, and sign up for stairway crew.

Nah I fly satellites

No thanks that's punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Article 69

If you get caught you pussy

SO are you the techie guy or the ones in the battlefront?

Big Blue has eyes everywhere

What's the toughest thing you've had to endure?

Techie, I work at a console but our unit can deploy to the desert

Nothing too bad yet, Basic Training was boring as hell and frustrating, but not too tough. Can't say the same for others tho.

>Can't say the same for others tho
Elaborate.

Some people just can't take the stress, it depends on the person. We had a guy in our flight 4th week of training try to kill himself and he ended up getting separated. The 3rd day or so we had a guy freak out in like for first hair cuts and he had a panic attack and passed out. Some people just can't take it.

How many nigs are in the air force like the really trashy ghetto fucks?

Not a whole lot, maybe 5% of all nig nogs. They're mostly in security forces and maintenence. I had 3 in my flight at basic that passed

Is pic you op if yes what even?

Hmh. I remember that we had a few individuals with metal problems but no one tried to commit suicide.

I hope you'll have a great time there!

Why are you faggots so afraid of thunderstorms. Get a helmet.

Quit wasting my tax dollars and go sweep or something.

Not me just found on the internet
Me too pal, me too. My leadership is kinda shitty tho, hopefully we get a new Squadron CC soon.
Nothing can stop the USAF, except lightning within 5. I was outside once, about to head home and those fuckers made me go inside instead of to my car, kept me there for an hour.

Do you know Brodie Burbach?

>I'm in the airforce
>Posts picture of guy in Marine Corps cammies.
Fuck yourself you posing faggot.

Fuck you I'll stay right here in my comfy chair and shitpost on Sup Forums all I want and then take an hour and a half lunch break

Lmao stfu chair force, youd have a cushy space in the desert if you DID wind up there

What the fuck did you just say...

Can't say I do
You're welcome for my service

There will be mind games in the beginning, so it could be just that. Or the leadership is just shitty. Can't really tell without knowing what's going on there.

What service? Climb my stack you fake ass stolen valor mother fucker

>3k a month
Youve either been in a while or are married.

>Hasn't been in at all.
>Is lying about service on Sup Forums

He flies satellites that shit is pretty important for things like the internet and tv for spoiled shits like yourself

...

Nah, just on TDY
Thank you for your understanding

do you fly dicks into your ass or you only handle the landing?

You have pretty hands OP, ever thought about being a handmodel?

I actually preform maintenence on the testes while it's in the air
I have but my father would never accept me as his son

Freak out over hair cuts? Like snapped levels of stress huh?

What do you consider tough as a benchmark? What’s basic consist of that’s most stressful generally?

Ey big boss. Recognize this camo? Sitting all day on guard duty smh

I consider something like Army or Marine basic training tough, we basically had our hands held the whole time, I only got a good yelling at maybe 9 or 10 times over the course of 8 weeks, and I was a chow runner. I had to face a table full of MTIs 3 times a day every day and it wasn't even that hard. I'd consider the most stressful thing in basic the isolation from the outside world. The yelling stopped 3rd week or so; I can't really say that was the most stressful thing. Maybe the fear of failing to preform.

What the hell is that ungodly minecraft camo, all the secfo I've seen just wear abu camo, which isn't that much better tbh

That’s cool, it’s hard to imagine without being there I guess.
Good on you for getting through it.

Do you have a plan for it, are you going lifetime career?

I wanna go lifetime, I work in an awesome career field. Not that many opportunities to travel, but that's alright, my job is cool enough to make up for that

I worked with a few guys who helped bring some satellites down. Might be a dumb as fuck question but I’m uni qualified and a decade of practical experience etc in AV with informal broadcast and IT experience. Would it be worth looking at a military career? I’m comfortable in the civilian world but I’m curious

What type of degree do you have, what's it in, and how old are you?

What are Army or Marine basic training like?

I can't say in detail, but I have a couple of friends in both services and from what they've told me it's a hell of a lot harder than AF Basic. Marine basic is twice the length of ours, 16 weeks.

27 bachelor in music diploma in technical production. Useless

10 years on festivals, concerts, theatre and corporate doing permanent and temporary Av/it/comms/security etc.

You might be able to commission with that degree with that experience, I doubt it tho. You'd either have to go enlisted, which I wouldn't recommend for you in your situation, or you'd have to apply for the Air Force Academy, which is like 4 years of basic. I think the age cutoff for the AFA is 28 tho, so that probably wouldn't work either. Your best bet if you wanted to join would be to go back to school for a stem degree and go ROTC

Thanks for that, that’s sounds positive.
Why wouldn’t you recommend enlisting? Too late for decent progression/money, or something else?

youre a fucking bitch that doesnt do shit and never will
-

You'd probably take a paycut, most of the people your age will be e-5s or e-6s, while you're sitting at e-2 or e-3. And for sure your experience is not gonna be utilized.

Aww, go back to swabbing the deck or whatever it is you homos do

That always good to know.
How do they assign training/qualification after basic? Do you show merit, do you request or is it just assigned?

What do they do there? I don't know much about the US military, only Finnish.

hooyah pushbutton e-4 bitch
still doing something compared to spinning in a chair prob 45 minutes from your home town

>Article 69
ahahaha

It's not like you put in a resumé, you give them a list of your top 10 jobs you want and they do they're best to give you one of them.
It's mostly familiarization with the military lifestyle, basic rules of engagement, some basic combatives, and drill marching
How's it feel to be irrelevant in today's modern military? All you do is ferry those jarhead marines around.
Jk I love you guys, you're like the world's second best air force

Fuck me I can't even use the right their

Doesn't sound hard at all.

It's not, it just sucks. There were some people, who by no means should be in the military cause they were shitty people, who passed no problem. I feel like Air Education and Training Command is failing our Air Force by failing to do its job properly. The whole command is just a shit show, from BMT to tech school.

get your fucking ass out here son

I get that.

But surely there’s training to keep you relevant, you mentioned you’re studying for example.

So you role your sleeves like all the other nonner fags

What's the training like after basic training and how long does it take?

It’s bcuz im tuff cunt.
U wonna fite faggit? I’ll fek ur bish rite I’m frunt uv u.

How do I achieve such power levels as the pic?

Yeah, I'm doing my Career Development Courses, which are supposed to give you additional training to help you be better at your job.
Hey now, do you contribute anything to our space assets? Didn't think so, you're just a filthy space nonner.
It's much more relaxed, you get treated like a human again. A few people go crazy because they were so restricted in basic and now they've got all this freedom. The length depends on your job. Personnel and finance jobs only take about a month of training. My job took 4. Most avionics or airplane mechanics take 6-8 months. Not many schools are longer than that. There's linguistics, which is a 2 year long school, but that's an outlier.
You gotta take your DD Form 4, sprinkle the salt you inevitably emit daily into it, roll it up, and smoke it

And leadership training?

That comes into play when you hit e-4, Senior Airman, and are eligible to promote to e-5, Staff Sergeant, you attend Airman Leadership School

Interesting. Here in Finland you can't become a corporal without leadership training.

>studying

you mean getting your ass rammed by the bigger boys

Is Corporal still e-4 for you guys?
The butt-fucking hasn't gotten too bad yet

Cumcumberbach ?

NATO OR-4 equivalent, so yes.

Why aren't you a PJ, CCT, TAC-P? Those are the only jobs worth doing in the air force

I joined the army thinking Air Force was for bitches. Not a single person I’ve met in the air wouldn’t go back and choose Air Force. I wish I could swap branches

I was in the Army. I heard that you leave your tray at the table in the DFAC and the civilian workers pick them up after you leave. There's also prime rib everyday & that they have cloth napkins at the table.

Is it like our Army where you have two different positions at that rank, Corporal being more leadership based and specialist being more job based, or is it just Corporal for you guys?

i want to do pararescue, im fit and swim alot, everything ive heard and seen about it makes it seem impossible, is it even worth the 6 year contract to MAYBE get through indoc?

Corporal is a rent-a-cop for soldiers with low promotion points. Nobody wants to be a corporal, having the responsibilities of an NCO but still get paid as a specialist.

Cause sand is coarse and gets everywhere and I hate it
There's still hope, just wait till that enlistment contract is up and talk to an AF recruiter. I know plenty of people who went Army to AF.
False, you still gotta pick up your own shit and there's no napkins. But AF DFACs are the best you'll ever eat at, I can guarantee.
Go for it, worst case scenario you get a cool little paycheck for basic and some PJ training

Only corporal.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finnish_military_ranks
It would probably make sense to have specialist rank too but on the other hand it could be confusing for some old folk.

So I've heard, my step brother is army and just got promoted to specialist, lucky for him.
Gotchya, I always find it interesting learning about the rank structure of other militaries

cut your fucking nails fag

Plug in your phone you lazy fuck

Im only waiting till its empty and throw it away, like all the others, too.

This, it's disgusting.

Damn I misjudged. Keep doing you, you sneaky bastard

I think one major difference between our insignia is the use of training branch insignia. We have those on our left sleeve under garrison's insignia and the Finnish flag. It's fun to see conscripts on leave and immediately know what everyone does. I don't see those in American uniforms or at least can't identify them.

Old ones are on the right and current ones on the left (although some are missing, like EOD, EW, paratroopers...)

AF has those, though some of the badges are more broad than others. You can see mine above the AF name tape, it indicates Space System operations. There's a few missing in the pic, like the missileer badge and the cyberspace wings, but it's a decent representation. Navy has it too. Not too familiar with the other services tho

Just haven't known what I've been looking at. Don't recall seeing them on Army or Marine uniforms.

Nice thumb nail, asshole

I'm not too familiar with their uniforms, I'm sure it's the same deal though.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badges_of_the_United_States_Air_Force

Could be. I have to look closer next time.

This is why you're in the Navy and not the AF. You can't even rotate your images properly.

Post College grad having a hard time finding a job.

Considering going in as an officer. Got me an Electrical degree.

Anything the airforce can offer? (I've done alot of digging but im curious for some non-biased insight)
