It depends. The bare minimum is usually reverb and slowing it down, and that's it. Leave it, done. Some vaporwave, however, cuts up songs and uses SECTIONS to make the new vaporwave track. Examples include the famous リサフランク420 / 現代のコンピュ and Enjoy Yourself.
Still others put much more effort into their work, such as Eccojams, which often creates entirely new music with the sampling. For instance, Eccojams A4: youtu.be/FhmzR8GN0Dc
This sounds NOTHING like a slowed down version of Michael Jackson's Morphine. I had NO idea that was the song used in it until I listened to the album a few times.
So it really depends, some are simply slowed down and reverbed, and some have more effort put into them.

>It depends. The bare minimum is usually reverb and slowing it down
whats that thing where the changes in pitch are delayed? even over what the tempo change should dictate?

will check out eccojams

I'm not sure myself, not an expert in music or effects.

it's like portmantoo, but I thought that was only available on a keyboard part, not as an afftereffect

good shit though

youtube.com/watch?v=pzwMKdIbibw

this is lo-fi hip hop ignorants

slowed don and reverbed eurobeat becomes hip hop?

wat?

youtube.com/watch?v=D9xYfForUuI

what the hell are you talking about

also I wish I knew what song this was, would make for some good vaporwave
youtu.be/_p8zz4alYP4

it's nice but would only make 20 seconds worth

youtube.com/watch?v=KxGRhd_iWuE

youtube.com/watch?v=QrLyKGobWkk

are you the one saying slowed down eurobeat is hiphop?

Is this a 'when sampling/remixing goes too far' thread?
I've got one:
Oregano: youtube.com/watch?v=fekWiU3K_e0
'Remixed': youtube.com/watch?v=h9wualcJuE4

that wasn't me.

>youtube.com/watch?v=QrLyKGobWkk
I thought this was a vaporwave thread

will check it out

youtube.com/watch?v=rcD7JEjNBhw

Please don't. That was the opposite of my intentions when posting it.
Original: youtube.com/watch?v=3bNITQR4Uso
Remix: youtube.com/watch?v=Qm509gYHAe0

I was thinking about posting this, but I legitimately think that both versions of this song are good.
Way, way, way better use of the sample than the first one you posted.

why do you keep posting these. this is basically dance music

hmm, ok, did not like

>why do you keep posting these. this is basically dance music
aah, a certain type of music is banned from here? I am knew, didn't now

what are you're preferred genres?

That was the point, dummy.
Original: youtube.com/watch?v=IRAj9Yxg3bs
Remix: youtube.com/watch?v=XpT7FUmGI9A
Remix: youtube.com/watch?v=Wi44nxaDg9w

hmm, those all sound pretty generic

are you making a point? did I miss it?

>vaporwave production
Is this the new tyranny thread?

The point was that 'sampling' and 'remixing' are usually pretty lazy and don't really add enough to the original to warrant their existence.
Here is another example, from something more popular:
Original: youtube.com/watch?v=eVVfZAZdIUs
Sampled: youtube.com/watch?v=HdeYwObD-j4

>The point was that 'sampling' and 'remixing' are usually pretty lazy and don't really add enough to the original to warrant their existence.
true, what do you value as high energy and original these days?

did anything come of that brian eno phase where he was going to create a song generation system. was to take the same themes and crate new melodic output every time

pretty cyber

heh, that's pretty fucking similar

I don't listen to much new music. Instead, it seems I find songs that everyone already knew and likes that I had never heard before.

I guess this track has enough energy to me: youtube.com/watch?v=Ihp-qQV3mQc
It draws from several different styles, and if there was a sampled song for the main piano riff, I don't know what it is. I suppose you could say it is somewhat simple, with the whole song pretty much centered around that riff, but it seems okay as a whole.
