9 levels in triangle shaped pyramid, made of uniform shaped objects, so there's a pattern
top level is singular (obviously)
next level down is 1+2
then 1+2+3
then 1+2+3+4
and so on
9 layers in this one so its 1 + (1+2) + (1+2+3) + (1+2+3+4) + (1+2+3+4+5) + (1+2+3+4+5+6) + (1+2+3+4+5+6+7) + (1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8) + (1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9)
easier way is (1x9) + (2x8) + (3x7) + (4x6) + (5x5) + (6x4) + (7x3) + (8x2) + (9x1)

even easier, just do n(n+1)(n+2) / 6
so for 9 levels, it's 9(9+1)(9+2) / 6
which is 165

The formula for tetrahedral numbers is C(n+2, 3), where n is the number of layers. (C as in combinations)
In this case it's 9 layers, so 9+2=11 and C(11, 3) = 165

I don't actually know how it works, I just know that's the formula for sum of a triangular number. Try it out, it always works.
