Give me the 1 (one) reason why Japan is so much better than the other Asian countries. I am simply baffled at how they managed to get so far ahead despite having poor natural resources and little arable land. Don't say it was the murkan freedom bombs either because before WWII they were so far ahead of the other Asian countries that, if they went unchecked, they could've easily dominated all of China, Korea and South East Asia (maybe even Australia too if we weren't so close with Britbongs and murkans).

Average IQ 105

cuz ur a faget

You're not fooling anyone Chao Li. Get the fuck out of Australia and head back to mainland china to breathe in smog and shit in public places some more.

They chose to adopt Western life, it wasn't forced on them. They're like the autistic Britain of the far east.

I think it's cultural. Japan has a crazy work ethic, even compared to other countries (I guess South Korea would be the next closest, but them splitting from Korea as a whole in the 50s-60s explains why they wouldn't be as far ahead).

>Pre Perry

Japan had something no other nation had in the region; centuries of stability since the establishment of the Emperor. The society was homogeneous and ordered.

>Why not China?
China was constantly vying for power during the same period and getting butt fucked by foreign powers. China had more wealth and population, but much more foreign interest and inter-regional conflict.

Tokugawa Ieyasu when he established the shogunate realized that the intervention of foreign powers is what truly threatened the social order of a land; in a similar vein that gunpowder weapons were also restricted, and social roles locked down.

>Post
Japan realized quickly that their entire society was at the mercy of foreigners, and changed gears. With the ordered and regimented society they had, it was a much smoother process than seen in Russia or China; essentially the government said jump, and the average citizen said how high.

So, Japan began to quickly reform its societal structures, send out diplomats and officials to western nations, and educate their citizens in modern European concepts.

>1 REASON

Japan had an intensely ordered society.

It should be pointed out that Japan sent scholars to western nations prior to Perry's black ships though, it was just a lot more hardcore. When people interested in "studying abroad" (for medicine mainly but I'm sure there were a few other departments as well) they would be sent to another country and live there for FUCKING DECADES mastering the foreign language and the concepts being taught there and then bring the knowledge back to Japan.

Anime is the meme magic of television. Nothing an American made ever compared to anime. It's damn good.

The answer is still America.

They still say fuck the gaijins.

They kill your beloved whale and dolphinuru

They had basically a fascist wartime economy until the system was deliberately collapsed by inflating a massive lending bubble.

This was done because of muh neo-liberal economic doctrine.

>must be chinks

This is why I am so surprised. Japs are actually fucking retarded.

Japanese are superior, more organized, more disciplined & more advanced when it comes to adapting & inventing new ways of warfare

They Chose Western life style after they lost ww2 you idiot.

I prefer ROK. Better food.

You're a fucking retard. They had already adopted Western military techniques, technology and governance by the time the Russo-Japanese war happened.

Unique genetic signature.

Watch more historical Animu, senpai. Many focused on the civil war that erupted between those that wanted to coopt modernity or stubbornly sticking to muh samurai

No niggers.

>They Chose Western life style after they lost ww2 you idiot.

They adopted it several decades before then, in the mid 1860's.
Why the fuck do you think Samurai were outlawed?
Because the Emperor at the time wanted to be more "Modern" like the men from across the seas who brought so many technological wonders and advanced weapons, and wanted the country to appear more "Modern" as well so that these White men from overseas would be more willing to return and trade more advanced goods. Samurai were viewed as too primitive and violent for the evolving Nippon.

Japan has always been a nation that was open to change.
>"What's this? Wow. This looks good. We should use this"
They were never a country that frowned upon outside influence. If something seemed useful, they adopted it. If they could find a way to improve upon it themselves, they did. If someone improved upon their own improvement, they then adopted that instead. If something seemed like a downgrade to their current way of life, then it was rejected.
It's ingrained in their culture to constantly be and do better, so when people show up on your shores with pretty much better everything, you adopt it and mold it to fit your own way of life.

The only ones that WERE ever butt mad about change were the aforementioned samurai class, because change meant that they didn't get to be top dog anymore, and couldn't shit all over the peasantry and endlessly battle for HONORU like they had been for hundreds of years, and their swords, bows, and other weapons were quickly becoming useless in the wake of ever-evolving gunpowder based weaponry, and were a bunch of resentful cunts about it, which lead to about a decade of rebellion.

1. class segregation

2. strong class segregation

3. strong class segregation in an actual democratic environment

4. unquestioned strong class segregation in an actual democratic environment

when 99.99% of the population is absolutely autoconformed with their social position of NEET/student/housewife/small business owner/salary man/popstar/g-man:

1. they do their job well and do it happy without expecting much, focusing on what's in their reach instead, the community

2. they don't question the legitimacy of the people in power (although they obviously question the legitimacy of their actions, that's what democracy is about), unlike niggers;

3. they don't care about minority group, immigration and feminist bullshit movements.

living in a caste system like this is the most efficient system next to fascism, but with much more stability provided by the net of extremely porous social hierarchies and taboos (instead of simple violence)

that's why they were able to go from 3rd world to 1st world in the span of 3 decades, and south korea and china are treading the same path: I would say china won't be able to reach japan's level because their people are still very barbaric; korea on the other hand is catching up to japan but they are falling for the hyper-competitiveness of modern capitalism which goes against the values of stability (innovation and competition destroy to rebuild anew, japanese companies still use fax machines) and conformism (japanese males are called herbivore for a reason, this type of society definitely requires a passiveness/subservience)

egalitarian capitalist democracies (the type the western world pursues) might be more just as it gives everyone a theoretical shot at climbing the social ladder, but as it creates a mass of broken, sad, indebted people that failed to achieve anything it also creates inneficiency (entitled people who think they deserve better) and instability (people are given a voice to complain about nothing
