What are inpatient mental health facilities like? I'm probably going to kill myself soon if I don't get help, but I don't have any money or insurance. What can I do?

Word is Auschwitz was great circa 1940-1945

Talking over the phone doesn't help me. I've tried.

So whats making you feel this

Funny. Have something more original or are all of your jokes as tryhard and edgy as that one?

What area do you reside in? I know that in my area we have certain clinics for free. Not even low income or any bullshit just legit free. I know certain college campuses offer mental health services for students or just visitors. That's also an option.

Depression almost to the point pf being catatonic. A family that barely gives a shit. Loneliness. General dislike of beimg alive.
North TX.

If you're British I can tell you what inpatient facilties are like. I worked in one for 5 years.

So first thing I warn people about is you'll have your phone taken away. Sounds like a stupid thing to mention but a lot of patients I worked with found having no communication or use of their mobile was a difficult thing to adapt to.

Second thing I would mention, is that you'll be on a ward with people much worse than yourself. Not many wards are for depression or suicide only. You may or may not get your own room, depends on the hospital.

Third, you may be put on a level 3 if you're deemed to be a suicide risk. Thus means you'll have a support worker follow you around everywhere, even while you sleep. They're usually cool as fuck though and are not intrusive other than making sure you're not a danger to yourself.

For the most part, the wards are great and the staff are even better. The doctors won't make you feel better but the support staff and nurses might.

Ask me anything you want to know about mental health wards and ill tell you.

They can refer you to local doctors who can help and get you on treatment or meds. You might be able to get it for free. Don't worry their pros they've seen it all and want you back on your feet. Good luck.

I'm not British, so i dont kmow how much you'd be able to directly help, but I do appreciate the offer. Where I live mental health care is almost non existent.

dude Ive been inpatient a few times...its alright but f=if yur bad plan on spending a month there. Get on meds dude its not the end of the world.

I just went back on venlafaxine. Feeling good again. Almost back to normal.

just get help bro.

go to the ER if you have to

I want to get help, but i can't afford anything.

Ah fair. Sorry it hear you're going through such a shit time. As I can can't help with the hospital knowledge I'll tell you how I what might help with how you're feeling. As I had severe depression for a long time, I found a couple of things helped me get through the worst of it which I know also helped a few people I worked with.

First of all, workout. I suggest weightlifting. Gave me a huge boost in my mood.

Second, sleep more. I still have moderate insomnia and my lack of sleep kicked my ass. I had anti depression medication for a month which mad me super drowsy. The extra sleep helped and I didn't require them after getting that first month or so of sleep.

Third, fuck or wank like a beast. Seriously, huge help. If you don't have a partner just watch a fuck load of porn and beat off whenever you feel down. Shit helps. Severe depression can cause ED so take that into account. Don't worry, when you feel better it'll improve back to normal really quick.

Fourth, talk to people. Not on 4 chan. Go out, ignore the potential creeping social anxiety that goes with depression and just strike up conversations with hot girls. You might get ten weird looks but that one shy smile can boost your mood ten fold.

Fifth, play the shit out of games and watch movies. Escapism is underrated.

How that helps buddy.

samples. generics. you have options. if you're actually that poor, you qualify for government assistance.

You would be surprised as making just 9k a year is making to much to qualify for assistance in the US government.

Adria Suicide thread.

...

I've been inside twice, for 3 weeks each time.
What exactly do you want to know about the facilities?

Bro, Mandy Morbid for the win, first of all. Second, like the limey said, you probably couldn't get admitted as an inpatient unless you were suicidal, and then their goal would be to "stabilize" you (make you not want to kill yourself) and then release you as soon as they can.

Your long- term solution will probably be meds and psychotherapy. THE MEDS WILL HELP YOU. You can and will feel better again. Then, you can focus on the therapy fixing (or coping with) whatever is really bothering you.

As to how you can accomplish this without money, no idea. This is the problem with depression, is you're going to need fortitude to get anywhere, and fortitude is difficult when you're depressed. Call different social service agencies or psychiatry practices and ask about any free or sliding-scale doctors.

Good luck. Don't give up.

her legs look fake in this picture like the muffin top make them look way out of place.

She is a devil's angel, you shut your mouth.

Gun on head or GTFO

She looks like an action figure doll.

Sorry dude, I think this advice is all bullshit.

...

Worked for me. Worked for others too. People find different things work for them. Please feel free to post your own advice.

She would be a great moped girl

Are you like one of those hermitic old people who thinks we still have a safety net or something?

...

I could write pages of advice, but I'll say pills are the way to go, once you're in inpatient. Volunteer so you don't loose your rights. There are privacy laws to protect your intellect. It will take a lot of time and patience to make sure you're one pills that work. My life is comparable if that helps you.

Dallas or FW?

I'm glad it helped you, but I would say if it did then you probably weren't clinically depressed to begin with. Not that I know whether OP is...

I was diagnosed three times, twice by GP doctors and second by a fitness for work doctor. You really need to stop talking about things if you don't have knowledge of them. Those things I mentioned are about removing focus from the suicidal or depressive thoughts and replacing them with things that give positive focus, chemical releases and can improve confidence by improving body image etc. Learn your shit before you comment in the future.

Dallas

if my post rolls dubs then you will die of old age and not from killing yourself soon.

Yeah, this guy is 100% correct. I have major depressive disorder, and while I get pessimistic about everything and don't think exercise/socialization/sleep solve everything, they are definitely things within your control that can help improve depressive symptoms.

When you're depressed, you don't want to do any of those things, and you don't believe any of those things will be able to help you, but they are absolutely a net positive to anyone in this situation.

who is this

>but I don't have any money or insurance

lol america

youre not down

What's the top part of the tatt (not the skulls)?

...

butterface.

Lots of dirty sluts and if youre under 18 you can fight and not get in much trouble i went inpatient like 6 times sometimes because it was fun to do stupid shit and not get in trouble and you can always easily smuggle some dabs in to make it better just shove it in your arse lmfao

>butter-haircut

She's beautiful, but I'm not a fan of the shaved side-head

...this is embarrassing.

Stop being a drain on tax payer's money. Let the people who need help use the facilities to get help, since inpatient units often have limited places.

Using it for some little retreat where you can pick up mentally fucked girls and take drugs is taking the piss.

Maybe, but her face just makes me think of Boy George or something. The face of a gay man.

>What are inpatient mental health facilities like?
so i obviously cant speak for the huge part of clinics i wasbt attending but i was in one clinic in germany. we had daily programs consisting of, 3/5 times, sports, ergotherapy (you create something, try to rebuild confidence that what youre doing is actually something well done etc, you try to rebuild confidence in your own abilities). sometimes, two times a week, we had a session with our therapist.
if you get accepted at a Clinic, i think you should do it. it helped me alot

Thank God for people like you.tell us more about your experience being a fuckin know it all cock swallower

Good advice bro, but got to ask - why does everybody start their sentences with 'so' these days?

uk.businessinsider.com/heres-why-everyone-is-starting-sentences-with-the-word-so-2014-5

It's weird. You're German and even you're doing it.

is it a trap?

...

You spend too much time on Sup Forums.

As someone with mental health problems who's wanted to kill himself for at least 7 years now, this is how I keep myself alive and looking after my mother, this is good advice, I don't do the hot girls thing as women tend to bring more problems than they're worth and more problems is not something I can deal with but yeah, rest is gold.

couldn't see the crotch in that pic and she looks borderline without it

some of us start their sentences with 'also', not in the meaning of 'theres more information' but 'ill explain this to you'.

therapy is a long thing to do, it most likely will involve some kind of medication and i dont know how youll be covered. it is a long, but worthwhile task. some people you meet there are the greatest people ever tbh, they are very much like you or super sympathetic and such. its hard to live with a mental dissorder but its not unhealable

Mental hospitals, along with a lot of other medical clinics, can ask really nice for you to pay them, but when it comes to debt collection they're pretty much toothless. I went to a psychiatric hospital in 2013 and I've been too poor to pay them, so I just haven't yet. not affecting my credit score at all, so far.

That being said, living in a minimum security hospital for however long you have to be there kinda sucks. I wasn't allowed to wear an underwire bra or have shoelaces. sometimes the only thing you can do to pass the time is walk up and down the halls. literally everyone else in there with you is a wild card, and some of them are there because they were ordered to go by a judge, not because they wanted to get better.

tl;dr: they most likely won't be able to force you to pay, so I wouldn't base your decision on the cost; and it kinda sucks but for the most part it's alright to be able to decompress and get perspective.

...

chances are you won't get help there as stupid people exist in every profession, find your own inner peace (it's not easy nor really lasting, also its something that always needs work) and if you still cant check out of life.

see above ^^

No insurance? Go up to either a hospital in denton county or Collin County. You'll be assessed by the hospital then by local MHMR. If MHMR thinks you need IP they'll pay for it and place you in a hospital that can give you treatment

I work in a psychiatric intake dept in denton county.

How would you kill yourself?

They lecture you about 8 hours a day basically saying that you're being a childish burden on society and other people. I check on you every 15 minutes and take away anything that you can use to kill yourself including shoe strings and other ridiculous items. And of course a bunch of brain pills. It's not fun. Let me scare you away from suicide permanently. The pain you feel from suicide is what you feel for eternity in the afterlife. For example if you were to Slit your throat you would feel that forever after you die

...

Don't do it, call a help line, everything's going to be fine.
