What would you recommend someone who liked Sleep Party People? I suspect I'm dying, and their albums are very relaxing and provide a good frame.

I thought I was the only one on earth who likes this band

What are you dying from

Don't know. Multiple high level system failures are developing over time, I don't know the core cause(s) and at this point I don't really seem to care. This is the point where it becomes a cascade.

It might come in the form of heart failure, cancer, or organ failure. Thyroid and digestive systems have already failed. Blood pressure is very low, resting heart rate is ~130 bpm most of the time. I can't eat and no longer trust myself to drive.

I predicted this a long time ago. I don't know how I knew. Feels peaceful for now. The universe will attempt to torture further, but it doesn't matter like it used to.

yes! love sleep party people. can't think of anything that hits that spot off the top of my head. i'll get back to you

Im sorry to hear that user, surround yourself with your loved ones or with things that make you happy

ily

i'm back! ok i'll just post some records that, as the op states, i'd recommend to someone who likes sleep party people. doesn't necessarily mean they're anything like them but here goes!

first up:
beak> - >>

also their self-titled debut definitely recommended. i'm so sure you'll like this i won't even say anything else

I've never seen Sup Forums mention this band before.

Recommendations: Sparklehorse (not always relaxing, but a lot of his tracks are), Cigarettes After Sex, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, The Antlers, and The Microphones.

Goodbye OP

young marble giants - colossal youth

very calm minimalistic proto-post-punk(??) i guess. but i suppose you already know em. if not also check out the final day single and testcard ep

don't die OP

have to go with one of the most beautiful and definitely the most depressed (fuck you, pornography still has way too much desperate energy, faith is the real rock bottom) the cure record. also seventeen seconds

and on this special occasion i'll recommend that two gallants record that actually took a whole while to really grow on me and i usually still wouldn't recommend. but it's beautiful

some of the most beautiful music made for a film. should fit yr mood op

Faith is easily the band's most underrated record. It's effectively Pornography's equal yet it gets nowhere near as much recognition.

and these guys aren't always quiet but mostly and very very very very highly recommended. you will fuckin love rrope. so much so that you'll listen to their second record even without me tellin you to

this is actually pretty close to spp, at least considering tone and mood. it's really low-fi though but still beautiful, i think it will hit the spot

thank you! i seriously never got why everyone soiled themselves over pornography. always thought faith was a lot better and to me felt the way everyone's describing pornography

foundit! ok, not as hi-fi, not as intricate but really really beautiful and it should fit your mood. problems that fix themselves. highly recommended

skip leakh's debut and go straight to 2005's et cetera. most of it sounds very much like dying slowly. in a good way

this is one of my favorite records ever by one of my favorite musicians in the world. mostly a capella and some instrumentals, both really really beautiful and oh i dunno the cover says it all. it sounds like a big pink teddy bear about to hug you which can be scary sometimes but is really just beautiful and mezmerizing (i probably didn't spell that right but it's getting late and i'm not gonna look it up)

another all-time favorite of mine. i'm actually gonna get a lodger tattoo pretty soon.
i'll recommend them to anyone, and i recommend all their records but for you specifically i'll go with their latest - low blue flame
which you can actually download for free and maybe one or two of that limited handprinted edition of 200 is still available
lodger.fi/

and, por fin, lowercase with their fittingly named and pretty much perfect third album the going away present. it's not all calm, but hell, if it's too much for you i still strongly recommend to check out track 2, "willing to follow you down"

and with that i leave you, op. if you are even still reading. i hope you'll get better despite what you feel. but whatever is on the other side, i'd be happy to share thoughts on good music with you once we both have crossed over. you have a save trip and enjoy them sounds

oh and also agree with this guy
wholeheartedly

I'm here. Looking into what's been suggested.

Appreciate it.

user, you're a nice fella.

anytime!

thank you, it's not often that i feel i am
