That's a hard question to answer, but probably this.
Everything ever done by Lightning Bolt.
I've only heard this
Listen to shellac if you like the sound and would like some progression in the structure
Super mediocre.
Does noise rock get better than this?
I didn't realize this was a "post your favorite noise rock album and let others criticize" thread.
OP did say let's talk about noise rock, with criticizing being a form of discussion.
Seconded. Love this album; saw it live earlier this year and it fucking kicked so much ass. Boris are just too good live.
Feedbacker and Akuma no Uta are also great, but those kinda just have noise rock parts, rather than being predominantly noise rock LPs like Pink.
tell me why its mediocre
It's boring and samey sounding, there were a few good songs on it though.
>It's boring
subjective as fuck how is this a valid criticism, literally anything can be boring
>samey sounding
heavily disagree, ID, nobody, zoo music boy, bombie, emotionless honey, and the low down bitchin sounds nothing like each other other than the same instruments being used
I'm sure most people here now about this album by now but it's so fucking good
where is the line between noise rock and shoegaze
I mean it can be both
I always flip flop between my favorite Unwound albums but this one has my favorite tracks by them
shoegaze is apart of noise rock but is far more related to psychedelic music with its use of effect pedals
I'll have to re-listen to it again for a subjectively more "valid" criticism, but I still stand by what I said.
Been really liking Foil Deer by Speedy Ortiz
...
I've been listening to Shellac lately
do you have a favorite?
This treads the fine line between
youtube.com
i know they rip off Arab on Radar and they're all pretentious douches but there's something about their sound that tickles my fancy

Black Bananas - Rad Times Xpress IV
It may be too noisy for Sup Forums though
Atomizer [Homestead, 1986]
This is the brutal guitar machine that thousands of lonely adolescent cowards have heard in their heads. Its creators were moved to create this awful racket by the pain of the world, which they've learned about through fan mail and bondage magazines. They deserve credit for finding each other and making their obsession a reality. But not for anything else. B
Love that album, great pick my dude
All Oasis albums

Fuck yeah, love Melt-Banana so much so disappointed that I missed out on seeing them live in June. Cell-Scape is one of my all-time favourites.

Yeah those New York Dolls, they were the height of maturity and classy sophistication.
Damaged [SST, 1981]
Although the B side drags more painfully than I bet was intended, this is powerful stuff. Greg Ginn is the greatest noise guitarist since Johnny Thunders, new vocalist Henry Rollins can snarl along any tortured contour they serve up, and "Rise Above," "Six Pack," and the uproarious "TV Party" prove they can write songs as well as gnash fragments. Inspirational Verse: "I wanna live/I wish I was dead." A-
Imma give another try to Ezlekuak then
bump
been listening to ex models and guerilla toss lately
By far their best one.
BORN IN THIS TOWN

They really were the greatest rock band of all time, weren't they?
How is this noise rock? this feels like pop-punk seriously
how are jesus lizard considered noise rock, there's no "noise" being used in their music its at best atonal
I'd love to go to a good noise rock show, I know most noise rock is late 80s and 90s stuff but are there any great currently active noise rock outfits out there? I know Shellac still do shows from time to time. Pic related, my favorite Shellac album.
agreed. fuck sonic youth.
They're the only reason pic related isn't my favorite Austin noise rock album
