So it's getting a little chilly here in NYC so I checked Macys and to no surprise, they have a 50-70% sale today and tomorrow. I would have gone tomorrow but weekend subway system is a s*** fest.
I decided to go tonight. I went. I checked out a bunch of jackets. I also had to buy shoes so spend quite a while choosing sizes. Can you believe that some shoes are out of wack even though the sizes are coded. Like one side of a shoe would be loose and another would be ok. Anyhow, I digress.
I finished my shopping and was about to escalator down to the 1st floor til my stomach start protesting like no tomorrow. Asked the staff where the bathrooms were. As usual of American service staff "7th floor" without looking, which was what I needed.
So I raced up the 7th floor and guess what? The toilets were full. There were only two pee stands. I thought my stomach wouldn't be that bad, I will be fine after emptying my bladder, I though. Can you believe that Macys have like 8 floors of a huge building but only two bathrooms? One for each gender? America really is Great.
I emptied my bladder. I quickly on the subway. Thought I could hold it in til home but nope. Gases churning inside my stomach non stop. It hurts. REAL BAD. I thought, hey maybe I can fart some of the gas out but nope, it's coming a bit wet. THIS IS SERIOUS! MAY DAY MAY DAY! Get off the next stop!
So I get off to see where I can find a public bathroom (I've never s***ted in a public bathroom except work). Went to Modells, nope no bathroom (I didn't want to ask). Saw Starbucks, etc, all closed.

Finally saw McDonalds. Bought a bottle of water for $2. Cashier took my $2 and told me to wait. It took a full 2 minute for another staff to take out the water from the fridge. Again, American service people are the best. I drank water for a bit and slyly asked for the bathroom. He said knock and if it's locked to let him know. I went and knocked. No answer. Seems it's a bathroom where they don't want customers to use. Had to ask the guy. The guy said go in the Women's bathroom, I will buzz you in. That's right buzz as in they had to unlock it as if you were going to a VIP strip club private lounge room.
I made my way into the bathroom. I flushed to see if it's working. It works. THANK GOD. Tried to get TP to clean the seat. Went to town. Not even 2 mins passed, a knock. Probably the staff. OCCUPIED!!!!!!! The person left. I did my s*** and quickly got out of there. It took at most 4 mins, I didn't want to be there. I felt so dirty. The toilet paper of American public restrooms should be used for imitation toilet paper in barbiel doll houses. So thin you can give yourself a paper cut. So useless. Why even bother putting TP there if serves no function.
Got home. Took another s***. Took a long long looooooong shower and now I am typing this in my towels.
Note to self, check your bowels before you go outside. It's a dangerous world out there. Public bathrooms are rare.

Sounds advice and nice pics, user, but you're really forgetting some of the basics about living in NYC. You should have your got-to spots for bathroom breaks whenever you're moving around. You should know that around Union Square, the Whole Foods upstairs is a great option. Likewise the Whole Foods on Houston. You should know a few pubs in the area that are good for a bathroom break as well. And then there are various libraries. I can get into NYU buildings, so Bobst is a fantastic option.

I mean, NYC service and bathroom situations are different than most around the country. I'm from Long Island so I get to experience NYC shit sometimes, and they try to limit public bathroom use as much as possible because they don't want homless people in there 24/7 and don't want junkies getting high in there. They also don't want unwanted traffic in their stores/restaurants if they aren't customers..... and typically you find very friendly service in the US, but in places like fuckin McDonald's and Macy's in NYC, you're gonna be fucked. NYC is the best city in the world, but it's an overcrowded shithole. Come out to the island and you'll find people are friendlier and more accommodating.
