Not really, France was unstable. Their population was divided and they had a lot of problems in pretty much every department including generals and army command. After we went into Poland they could have invaded us and wouldn't have met a whole lot of resistance but incompetence and hope that it would not "degenerate" into a greater conflict prevented that. Going through Belgium and Weedland wasn't a tactical mastermove, the French knew about it. Honestly, the Invasion of France was largely very successful because the French were fucking retarded and the population didn't give a shit.

In WW1 Kaiser Wilhelm had a very complex relationship with Britain/England. His mother and grandmother (Queen Victoria) were English, yet his mother always acted cold and distant, yet he loved Queen Victoria (he may have been her favourite grandson, although i don't remember).
