>while British English sounds so based, refined and delicate
Sweetheart, real life isn't like an episode of Yes Minister

tell me how it sounds then

Have you ever heard a chav in your life?

There is still something fundamentally different between british English and the ugly gibberish that is American English.

Nah, I'm pretty sure you're just stupid.
Keep trying, though.

Well, you're American so I can guess that's what you tell yourself when you have lost the ways of your exquisite ancestors.

British english sucks dick.

I remember all those highschool teachers correcting my spelling and pronunciation because I use burger english instead of faggot english.

Would never get a 100/100 because the fuckers spellchecked everything and then said I didn't have correct pronuciation in the speaking tests

Well, this is how the average person sounds in my hometown.

yes, now compare a chav to tyrone's english for a fair comparison

>muh sistah
>muh flavour
>muh I can't stop eating dicks voice

Australian English is the best though

Come on. It's mathematics, not mathematic.
>Not speaking God's own dialect of God's own language
I pity you, user, I really do.

Y'all know aussies english is best
youtube.com/watch?v=HAXp58W9aEE

How is it easier to understand?

>colour
Ich verstehe nicht!
>color
Ahhh jawohl!

Yeah god, the almighty jew(OF COURSE HE IS) that created the world. I love that tale

Nothing is more vulgar than the British working class English :D

>he's never heard a chav speak
> or someone from Liverpool, Newcastle, Birmingham, the West country, Wales, and anywhere else in the midlands/north

>be on highschool
>think Australia pretty dank place
>actually australiaboo, surfers and girls, mate
>always make sure to use British English
>went the extra mile, practice Australian accent
>always top marks
>teacher was kiwi
>four meter wide, 2 meter tall woman
>always complimented me

Not so hard when you imitate the best

>four meter wide

Yorkshire ain't bad.

>meter

m8 the west country accent is the best English accent, Geordie is comfy too

it's the way you speak. Americans mostly speak basic english but the brits speak with a mute r and also use more difficult words.

Geordie was voted the most trusthworthy English accent. It's alright I suppose.

>butuh
>buddderrrrr

We have some really difficult accents to understand for a jf though I'll give you that. There's only about 3 yank accents.

I often find myself having to put subtitles on in American films actually because they often mumble or merge their words together.

Northerns

isn't r mute in German?

Northerners

fuc

>wanna play cods m8?
>excuse me? Cods?
>yee mate, cods
>like the fish?
>no m8, the wee slips of paper on em, cods
>cards

>brits speak with a mute r
Working class Brits

oi wanker i swear on me mum

I dare you to try to understand Wayne Rooney

Apart from Westcountry accents the UK is mostly non rhotic mate

Are you the same user who claims UK companies do drug tests?

Are you using a proxy or something because you seem to be talking out of your arse.

Typical Northern family.

>But-er
Only working class people pick up on the regional accent

Ye. Nicknamed the Fatherlanguage instead of the Motherlanguage LMAO

Meter is already an hard concept for the imperial users. Metre would just flip their brain.

Are you blind or stupid, he said a mute r, working class people use the glottal stop t more so they'll say bu-uh.
>Only working class people pick up on the regional accent
You're not making any sense, you're definitely a foreigner.

I'm drunk

I was trying to say that middle and upper class people all have the same accent no matter where they come from

Get it now nonce?

We mostly use metre as a measurement here.

...

I dunno, I think it affects how strong the accent is but even middle class northerners will sound different to the southern ones.

I wholeheartedly agree just listen to this unrivaled linguistic wonder!
youtube.com/watch?v=boo_Ii2Iam4

>middle class northerners
Don't think that's a thing

>not being from north yorkshire

I have 500 acres fight me

>Geordie is comfy

Lol no

It's as bad as scouse

>It's as bad as scouse

Nothing is as bad as Scouse.

^
Cornwall is pretty based tho

Estuary is comfy

>there's only about 3 Yank accents
"no"

>Geordie
>Scouse
>bad
Confirmed for having no taste

Even Estuary English sounds better than any of American accents. Anyway it was obvious that by British English OP meant RP.

Would anyone like me to say something in an Estuary accent

Because Americans speak through their nose and Brits speak through their throat

Estuary accent is basically mild RP.

No, you sound like a cunt

how does geordie sound like? like example?

cornish best accent

not a fan of this irrational dislike for america Tbh

Why do all of the anglo's have different English accents though? I read somewhere we got ours from our ancestors being drunk all the time and slurring words together?

There's a video I saw awhile back with a guy laying down on a couch talking about fuckin powernapping when he got a call from his da or some shit. I should have bookmarked it. These are adorable.

Are you a qt girl? If no then fuck off.

Kek. So it's not only India that has castes.

More to do with who went to which colonies. For example, in the early days the USA was composed of many different nationalities and so people had to speak slowly and clearly to be understood, same with Mexican Spanish.

Australia and New Zealand were settled by mostly Brits, Germans and Dutch which explains why the accent has a Northern European twang.

We're a strange country. The funny thing is that we're becoming more segregated if anything.

I'm from the Midwest and I think my accent is very easy to understand and not really vulgar at all excuse you.

Really? How? Sounds interesting.

People have lost faith in left-wing politics in general and while all of the social classes are becoming more prosperous it is happening very unequally.

The truth is that Brits have always had a weird obsession with social class, and it's something we don't fully understand until we spend an extended amount of time abroad. Based on the picture posted earlier I would describe myself and middle-middle class, and I remember being made fun of for hanging out with kids that lived on the council estates on the outskirts of my town. Most people only spoke to them if they wanted drugs or an easy fuck.

*myself as

>I would describe myself and middle-middle class
>t. retiree in spain
You're upper mate stop sugarcoating it

>retiree

I'm a schoolteacher m8, that's a middle-middle as it gets

Thank you very much for the explanation, m8. You're right, from the outside it looks very weird, especially the accent thing. Does it works in the same way in big cities and in little towns or does it change? How much are people "segregated" in places like the universities?

British accents stress syllables and letters in a way that make them sound more articulate (and by extension smarter)
American accents stress sounds that make them sound dumber.... Thats the best way I can describe it.

vocaroo.com/i/s0aubrskBBG3

point is, its the sounds that the accent changes

You sound like a fruit

social conditioning

uh
thank you?

I used to prefer the English accent, but these days I really prefer the american accent. English accents are too much to listen to sometimes. When Americans speak they sound authoritative and relaxed.

Americans don't sound authoritative, they are nasal and have that upward thing at the end of sentences like they're asking a question.

Watching too many jews on the t.v lad

mate, everyone goes to fucking Mallorca and shit now. I see so many fucking slags there nowadays, stupid bitches posting shyte on my facebook feed
Classes aren't a bloody income thing like they used to be, vacations are accessible to everyone.

Grunts and clicks?

Can you understand and speak English? If no, it's probably because you can't tell what brits are saying. If you can, how are we more vulgar? Just because we say fuck a lot?

Based Uruguayan

English accents explained by a knower.

No need to thank me.

dont know how anyone can stand the insect sounds blathered by an average brit (mong)

British English sounds awful.

"Aiyy laddies, that was a right bloody good game o' football the other day. Arsenal certainly walloped those Scouser twats."

"It sure bleedin' was, love. Want me to go put on an Oasis Greatest Hits CD?"

"Smashing idea. That's some bloody rousting music there."

> I'm so petulant I continued doing things my own way even if I would be punished for it.

Truly an example to us all.

lmao Britshit english sounds like drunk slavs trying to make sense

American english is and will always be superior as it rightfully is since they popularized English to a global level

why isnt english spoken properly in england, it sounds nice desu

> Aiyy laddies
Only in Scotland

> right bloody good
Only upper classes

> Arsenal certainly walloped those Scouser twats
Non existent mix of old time RP and lower classes

> "It sure bleedin' was, love. Want me to go put on an Oasis Greatest Hits CD?"
Just entirely wrong

> "Smashing idea. That's some bloody rousting music there."
19th century stereotype of upper class RP

Another truly awful American attempt at impersonating Brits.

also 3rd world brownies opinions matters not, you can lick the boot of your sharting overlords somewhere else
