New Testament was originally written in greek. There are 5300 greek manuscripts and 13000 fragments in greek. On the other hand there are not any hebrew manuscripts. The name is "Iesous". The I is pronounced as J since that letter does not exist in greek alphabets.
The septuagint (greek translation of old testament) was translated in 300-130 BC and in book of Joshua the name is written as "Iesous" Therefore the name is completely valid even in the eyes of the jews of old. It is not some latter invention.
Yeshua is the modern hebrew pronounciation and there is no proof for the original ancient vocalization. The vocals were added to the text by rabbis in 800-1000 AD. English bibles write the name as "Joshua".
