Why do tonal languages sound so bad ?
Why do tonal languages sound so bad ?
Because it inherently takes away one of the emotional dynamics in a language. Any tonal language loses depth by default.
how do people sing in those languages?
I genuinely wonder what chinks and jungle-gooks think of non-tonal languages.
They just completely ignore tones.
What said.
They probably jelly.
IIRC old chinese didn't have tones. I wonder why they incorporated them.
and i guess it has big relation to why they talk with big voice
Maybe Mandarin, but not Vietnamese or Thai, you have to fit the tones into the song.
Cool, and sound neutral.
Give some examples of Vietnamese songs that use tones.
Every single songs, in every languages.
English songs all have tones, you just don't know which tone it is.
I cannot watch Chinese movies at all. You can tell they have emotional or powerful scenes or whatever with nice back ground music but the tones ruin it every time.
Listening to them in transit is horrible too.
The difference is that songs in Mandarin don't fit to the meaning, it fits to the melodies. In Vietnamese, it fits into both.
>In Vietnamese, it fits into both.
Give me proof.

What do you guys think of this song?

They fit, but it is only matter if you can read Vietnamese.
Sounds really ugly to be honest. Thai sounds much better. Even Tagalog sounds better than Vietnamese.
>non-tonal cucks can't even hope of pronouncing and making sense of this

Extremely easy to learn.
This sounds like shit probably due to the tones
Nope it's because that's a shit song, i was just giving you an example. Although to you it might be both. If you're interested in phonology, you will find tones very interesting, same goes to the rare types of sound, like ejectives or implosives (Vietnamese actually has two implosives).
Hey, do me a favor and tell your people to stop using tones. Thanks.
What do you mean? Tones are just like vowels or consonants, it takes zero effort to make, it's harder for us to speak without tones, it's like telling English speakers "stop using vowels".
Are you retarded? You think we dont use tones when we sing?
wich languages ar tonal
Sino-Tibetan languages and Swedish and Norwegian have some tonal presence but not enough to consider them tonal.
English is partly tonal, though.
Every language is tonal, the difference thing is that tones don't effect the meaning of the words. If you speak a tonal language, you could clearly see the tonal pattern in any language.
>it takes zero effort to make,
Yeah maybe if you have been using it for your whole life
