When you realize it's a concept album
At the halfway point of the first track?
What's your interpretation?
I personally see this album as a metaphor for Jarboe and Michael's life. With Jarboe's life being silver and Michael's being copper. Though copper being less obvious
...
he's arguing with his mom and at points he thinks he's wrong, she's wrong and that they're both wrong
chads cant into music
A 14 year old boy not getting the white iPhone he wanted for his birthday
I've never figured that before. It would makes sense why Gira put Your Property and Your Property 2 on his half though. Once for jail and once for contract I'd imagine.
That would explain Volcano.
Need Attention
A song about Jarboe's sexual urges or history? Yep
Every album is a concept album if you project hard enough
thanks for the (you)s fellas :)
Well, I always saw this:
>Red Velvet Corridor: Birth
>I Was a Prisoner... (Taken from Jarboe's dad's FBI tapes): Disfunctional childhood
>Helpless Child(Written by Jarboe): Difunctional childhood
>Live Through Me: Happy moments of childhood
>Yum Yab Killers (Sung by Jarboe): Teenage anger and mental outbursts
>Mellothumb (Sample from Jarboe's childhood): Depression and despairing yearning for the past
>Volcano: Sexual tendencies and drugs
>Mellothumb: Depression
>All Lined Up: Psychotic outburst, questioning of god
>How They Suffer: Parents withering away, samples from Jarboe's mom who had dementia
>Animus: Despair
Copper is less obvious, again. It's hard to interpret it.
Interesting idea, but Helpless Child was not written by Jarboe.
I could've swore that I read that Jarboe wrote the song on the crediting or discogs
...
Someone posted that, but it turned out it wasn't true.

Gira's a genius, song beyond words
Those first three track run is one of the best openings to any album. Sets up the rest of the album perfectly.
