How are you supposed to get around this? The large companies will not only make their contact details hard to find, they'll never respond to you. It really sucks when you know a simple solution to a major issue in a game, but you know it will never be acknowledged.

Valve has no communication, full stop. And they often jst abuse fans because they know they can get away with it.
Paid mods is a great example of this. The community IMMEDIATELY revolted against it, and valve started to shut down the threads that complained about it, pointed out how stupid it is, etc. They completely ignored and censored people who were agaisnt it. They fucked over community creators to gain a dollar. And at the end of the day the fans won, but valve was terrible throughout the whole thing.
Beyond this there communication is set to a fat 0. Dota 2 probably has the most communication with its fanbase, even then it's little to none. We get told when updates will drop and maybe the occasional behind the scenes thing, but that's it.
compare that with tf2, whose fanbase got a late update with valve saying nothing for almost a YEAR AND A HALF. Instead they got complete radio silence save for a small post here and there saying "soon." That's fucking unacceptable.
Also with all their games, they refuse to quell any hype. If a rumor starts to be spread around that is COMPLETELY FALSE and EVERYONE gets on board with it (looking at you 9/6), they don't stop the hype train. They just let it play out, uncaring.
They also fuck with the community constantly with small pranks. (Again, 9/6) actively encouraging people to get hyped over nothing.
They also have the worst customer support you'll ever find anywhere.
Robles deals with kids, so you can understand some of their bad practices. Kids are fucking fickle. But valve deals with adults. Their behaviour shouldn't be excused.
