Kinda, but it's not like the Celtics have done anything with those draft picks.

look up "Herschel Walker" trade

Vince Carter for 2 bags of cheetos and Alonzo mourning who refused to come play for us

this

id bet the celtics will waste them all

Doesn't matter as long as LeBron is alive he's taking the East

Jaylen Brown is looking like he might be alright.

Why are American sport player transfers handled in "trades", like schoolkids in a fucking playground swapping stickers with each other, while the rest of the world conducts transfers with cash?

Are Americans just retarded?

Why are you baiting for (You)s so badly in an American thread?

yes

its simple, you don't have transfer funds in american sports

Because the Nets are what happens when a Russian Billionaire buys a basketball team to embezzle money though. You don't get Chelsea in America

I'm not, I just want to know why American sports are conducted like playground games, while the rest of the world conducts professional sports like businesses.

Why not? What sort of commie bullshit is that?

Yes, you are. You're throwing a little shit-fit over the difference in terminology, why? The players are literally being traded for each other. I know it's unfamiliar for you because there's no Arab oil sheik at either end of the process, but learn to cope.

celtics are the #1 seed and about to get the net's #1 pick (lonzo ball) making them contender for the next 10 years.

Jaylen Brown's a good prospect and really this year's pick is the make or break one

LA and new york would dominate everyone if sports were done like in europe. There's no way a team like cleveland would ever win a championship.

That's how Europeans like it. The same 3 teams win every single year, with the exception of statistical aberrations like Leicester City and large infusions of cash like what happened with Blackburn Rovers.

>difference in terminology
Sorry, do you actually believe this? Are Americans so fucking retarded that they genuinely believe a trade of players, and a financial purchase of a player, are the same thing, and only differ in terminology?

Is this literally how fucking stupid you are?

plus the nfl has a salary cap so you cant just buy up all the good players

Nope. I'm asking why you're sperging about over someone calling it a "trade" when that's literally what it is. A player is exchanged for another player, or a draft pick, or "cash considerations" in the MLB. Why can't you understand this ridiculously simple concept?

>show loyalty to a franchise your entire life because you believe they will one day benefit from the commie American "sport" system
>after thirty years of your support, the franchise is bought by a new owner and moved half way across the country
>the next year, they happen to luck out from the commie sport system and they win the league
>the team's new city celebrates, and all you can do is pour yourself a stiff drink and wish you were there
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

We like having genuine teams mate instead of "franchises", but you wouldn't understand that, because it doesn't fit with the American "sport" fan's commercialised mentality.

>we like watching the same 3 teams win the league every year
yep, that's what i said actually.

The idea is that the richest teams can't just buy all the best players

>he supports a franchise that will leave his city whenever it likes
>he supports a commie system where any fucking random team from nowheresville lucks their way to the title, like the Seattle fucking seahawks

Our supports require skill from the players, consistent skill over an eseason season, but you wouldn't understand that.

>he despises parity and goes into a cold sweat a the thought of Chelsea or Manchester Unitedâ„¢ not winning the league
pretty gross.

This. If this was the Premier League of Basketball the Nets would've won 7 Championships buy now.

What's the point when the team you've supported your whole life just decides to move across the country one day?

Also your system just relies on luck. A team can have a few lucky results, and a few lucky "trades", and they're in the superbowl.

Anyway, why shouldn't any team be able to buy whatever players they like? It's a free market mother fucker, we don't believe in commie bullshit over here.

Also I'd like to point out we've had like five premier league winners in the last decade or so: Leicester, Chelsea, Man City, Man U, Arsenal. Every year is a battle - it isn't the same every year.

And with your teams - you still have teams benefitting from the most money don't you? Richer teams can afford better facilities and shit. Hence why the Patriots keep winning - because they're one of the richest teams.

>being gay
relax

>A team can have a few lucky results, and a few lucky "trades", and they're in the superbowl.
not at all true.
>why shouldn't any team be able to buy whatever players they like?
parity. something your sport severely lacks.
>Hence why the Patriots keep winning
nope. their financial success is a product of their success on the field, not the other way round.

I know miller does seem good now but he got better way after leaving the marlins and not as a starting pitcher

The American system isn't a "commie" system. That's just how you interpret it because your tiny britbong brain can't understand the concept of multiple billion dollar revenue generating sports competitions.

In the grand scheme of things, NBA teams aren't competing against each other at all. They are merely a conglomerate competing together against other sports.

In order to compete with the NFL, MLB, NHL, and college sports, the NBA needs to have multiple succeeding and competitive franchises. As it stands only the Warriors, Spurs and whatever team Lebron is on have had a shot at a title for the past decade while the rest of the league tanks.

This is why the NBA has yet to catch up to the NFL. In football >your team can go from last place to first and last again in 3 years. Look at the Panthers, 49ers, Giants etc. This ensures excitement and interest, and in turn revenue.

In Bongistan, sawker has a complete sports monopoly and as such has no reason to ever be competitive. It's not as if Darts and Rugby are ever going to win you over the utter thrill of watching a spic kick a ball backwards for 90 minutes.

Jaylen Brown is one of the better rookies in the draft.

If he's starting on a garbage team he'd be ROY.

>being up at 4 AM on a tuesday morning in Sup Forums threads criticizing sports you don't care about

i can literally smell you in your flat from my house

You do know that the Patriots first championship run was when they still played in the piece of shit Foxboro stadium right? they became one of the richest teams due to their constant success.

>0 (zero) championships

>This is a bad thing

MK Dons moved

americans BTFO

As a Knicks fan I can say no, this is the second worst trade of all time

just give all the money to the same teams every year - it's such an amazing tradition

There's literally no way to justify the same 2 or 3 teams winning the championship for over one decade.

Or they'd be like Man United and spend hundreds of millions and end up 6th.

Money can't always automatically buy success, the customers proved that.

Sup Forums is truly dead now that you can't even have a non-general thread without a Muslim derailing it with "Why are Americans etc."

>muh communism
It's another smallbrain british lad conflates sports league rules with government episode

Off to with you lad

>Americans hate anything with a shred of what they think is socialism
>American pro sports: revenue sharing, muh parity, losers get rewarded with draft picks

you WHAT?

It's an excuse for a monopoly. All owners are like shareholders in the company that is the league. That's why it's designed to make sure all owners can make a solid profit.

You miss the big picture, leaf. It's simple. Our sports franchises are businesses, and the collective owners work as partners. Every decision, including the ones you listed, are made with the sole intention of maximizing revenue. "Socialism" has nothing to do with it. National revenues may be shared, but each partner keeps most of their local revenue. The competition isn't necessarily the other franchises, but rather other sports or other forms of entertainment that can steer away their audience.

Harden to Rockets

>literally giving up an MVP candidate for Steven Adams and Jeremy Lamb

I assume you were in coma for the first half of 2016.

>American sports
>parity

as if the last decade of NBA hasn't been Spurs win lol or Lakers win lol. or how the NFL is Patriotswinlol

>muh parity

compare the NBA champions of the last 20 years with the champions of the premier league, or any other league.

and the patriots have won the super bowl 2 times in the past 10 years, are you autistic?

Pats have only won 5 times in the past 30 years
5 times in the past 20 years
2 times in the past 10 years

The Steelers have 6 rings and only won twice in the past 40 years

this

meanwhile, in england...

Try Fultz. Ball will bust

Smart? Jaylen brown?? Fultz this year.. and another top 3 next year

Prokorov just had no idea what he was doing and wanted big names on the team

ITs the worst

>Smart
is this bait?
