Who actually uses a flashlight, or are they just like gadgets/toys? I have a little keychain flashlight that I sometimes use when I get home late at night from work. Not long ago I was in the bathroom at a Taco Bell when the light went out automatically, pretty much pitch dark. I'm no "EDC" enthusiast, but it's good to have a flashlight on you.

Sometimes the power goes out. Or you have a need to get something from the shed.
Well, you've always got your phone on you. If you have a dual lumen flash the light on that is plenty bright. But I do keep a pair of AA torches to hand out when camping, a pair of magnetic lights and a head torch for working on the car, plus a single AAA keyring one on a ring with my home Swiss army knife and a small fob of duct tape around the house.
I bought one on impulse at a Walmart recently, It's their house brand "Ozark Trail," cylindrical shaped aluminum, colored blue (they also had red and gray), for $1.88. It's not in a package, they're just standing in a display box. I got it 'cos it looked kind of nifty.
Meh, Huawei honor 8 got a physical fingerprint scanning button on the back of it, and can be used for multiple stuff, like doubble clicking turns on flashlight, press and hold opens Spotify and so on
I'd use my cellphone if I didn't have my keychain flashlight. It seems pretty clunky to use a cellphone as a flashlight.
I work nights as a plumber. I use a flashlight all the time.

Having light is always a good thing. Humans are visual creatures.
A phone is awkward and unwieldy if you're using it to find something with one hand, and the lights are mediocre at best. Nothing beats a dedicated light, I have a 130 lumen one on my keychain and it's invaluable.
