The future is here!

kiwi~ kiwi~ :3

Is Sweden unironically a nice place? If I were to ever live somewhere for a year once I got going it would be Sweden or Japan.

>tfw these kind of nicely autistic German posts are becoming more rare as obnoxious roaches/refugees and schizophrenic Greeks (roaches) shitpost loudly
Worst timeline

bullshit

...

Honest answer? Yes.

Even if it has degraded a lot in the recent years, we have a fully functioning welfare state and a well developed infrastructure (inb4 infrastructure is shit because the trains occasionally run late).

Even the worst thinkable ghetto neighbourhood in Sweden still offers a decent quality of life, and it still makes nation-wide headlines everytime someone gets killed.

>phoneposter

Thanks, the last line was nice to know too since it's the same here and is often quite a good sign.

Dumb phoneposter.

quiet you little slut

Australia and Kiwi land are genuinely the two safeties the places I've ever lived, of course if I was in some shithole in Auckland I could find trouble etc but I'd happily walk around the cities in the early AM drunk knowing I'd be fine

I also live on an island, about 2 hours from the nearest city. Population on this island = 1.
Well 2 if you count my dog..

What's your job?
Comfy /10?
Annoying to get supplies?

I don't actually know much about safety levels in the U.K., I'd assume it'd be a bit worse than here but not that high and no where near the U.S.

>What's your job?
I work as a fisherman/tourist guide on the weekends.
>Comfy /10?
Absolutely, I love living here.
>Annoying to get supplies?
A little bit. Can't really do any last minute shopping etc.
In summer I take my boat and head over to the nearest town once a month, stock up on everything.
But in winter when the water is frozen over I take my snowmobile, that's faster but I can only load about a weeks worth of supplies on it. So I have to ride once a week..

Nothing like the US, you're just asking to be harrassed by some dick head, probably won't do anything but also could easily do somethjng. The difference between NZ and the UK is as big as the difference between the UK AND the US imo

no way

>no way
Actually pretty common here in Sweden, especially around the southern coasts. There is something like 300 000 islands in Sweden.

a lot of the smaller towns are awful for many reasons

but i haven't found many things comfier than wandering around feilding late at night with a couple of joints to smoke

so quiet

The worst that has happened to me walking at night is I got a blow job by a cracked up middle aged maori whore and got HPV, and I always take duskwalks.

Comfy country desu, sick of the sunburns tho

wtf I love Sweden now

What do you do during your free time? Do you have much of it? Do you live alone in your home?

>a lot of the smaller towns are awful for many reasons

Fuck off cunt

>tfw fantasize about moving to Scilly, Cornwall

Meant live alone in the area, maybe a house or two in the distance?

at risk of sounding crass, you must get lonely. we're meant to be around others

>What do you do during your free time? Do you have much of it? Do you live alone in your home?
I'm a nature kind of guy. I go hiking around the area, lot's of fishing, hunting etc.
I work 3 weeks, have one off. So yes a week per month of free time.
And yes alone here on the island but there is a few houses across the water, mostly summer homes that are empty 80% of the time though.

my grandad lived as a hermit innawoods for the last 47 yearsof his life. Some people arent supposed to socialise regularly desu

>you must get lonely
Nah mate. I used to live in Stockholm city. I hated every minute of it. Just people everywhere, stress and noise.
Bought this island about 4 years ago and never looked back. Being alone is my preference.

palmy doesn't count as a 'smaller town' m8

i'm talking filly, ashhurst tier

lived in palmy too, some of the streets were pretty nice to wander about at night too

too many fried cunts overall though

Sounds absolutely comfy. How's the internet though? You probably don't exactly get fiber.

>too many fried cunts overall though

Look at this fucking smug cityboy cunt

>How's the internet though? You probably don't exactly get fiber.
That's for sure, I use a 3G/4G wireless router. One of those little usb stick things.
I get 10-20 mbit/s depending on the weather.
It's "unlimited" but still gets throttled after 150 gb.
Good enough for me though.

Comfy

>As of 2011, Pitt Island had a population of about 38 people.

Does it get really cold in the house with those thin walls during winter?

There is actually a 10 cm layer of insulation in the walls and my house isn't very big so my fireplace and electric heating keeps the place pretty toasty even in midwinter with -15 outside. Only problem I have really is snow, it builds up on the island and on my roof so I have to clear that out almost every day in winter.

Dude I wish you are healthy, because it would if you ever need to go to the hospital

i bet you've never gotten frizzled even once in your life cunt

>stereotype for Australians is that we're all Chads
>stereotype for Finns if that you're all autistic
hmmmm

its kinda sad desu
i just treat every german flag as if it was ikibey
and it suck because krauts are good ppl

Sure I am.
But you know that hundreds of thousands of people here in Sweden have at least one hour to the nearest hospital right? People enjoy living in the countryside.
If I need fast medical help they send a helicopter/boat etc.

>Pitt Island
Looks pretty comfy desu

Cool. What kind of prey are the most common in the area? Months when you can hunt legally?

*kinds

>If I need fast medical help they send a helicopter/boat etc.

Fugg, it's hard to imagine that something like this really works. Developed countries are just far from our reality, or maybe just the scandi ones.

>What kind of prey are the most common in the area? Months when you can hunt legally?
The most common is normal deer, moose and boar.
Deer - 16th of August - 31st of January.
Moose - 1st of September - 28th of February
Boar - 16th of April - 15th of February.
There is of course everything from small game (rabbits, badgers etc) and birds.
I mostly hunt boar and moose. There is a ton of wild boar here, I shoot 2-3 per month during the season.

>Fugg, it's hard to imagine that something like this really works. Developed countries are just far from our reality, or maybe just the scandi ones.
It's actually really common here.
And the helicpters can land anywhere pretty much. The boats are monsters, twin 150 hp engines. So they reach you fast.
And it's all free of charge.

You don't have hems/air medical servicesin Brazil?

That's pretty cool.

>normal deer, moose and boar
Do you cut the meat on spot or haul it back home? Do you sell it? Deer is kinda expensive here. How about there?

Well, yeah, I mean, that probably happens somewhere here, but Brazil is pretty big.

Get sick inna middle of nowhere and you'll most likely die.

Ah yeah I forgot about the big boat.
A fast ferry that can haul and land a normal ambulance on any bigger island.

are you that guy who developed Stranded Deep?

You normalfags are so fucking obnoxious. Are you even aware of what you are doing?

>Do you cut the meat on spot or haul it back home? Do you sell it? Deer is kinda expensive here. How about there?
I usually gut and cut on spot if possible, especially moose since they often weigh over 500 kg. Only problem is bears. We have quite a lot of them and if they catch the smell of a freshly killed moose they come running, so you gotta work fast and get outta there.
Boar I haul home, same with deer.
And yes I do sell a little. Moose is the most popular wild game here so it brings a good price, I get around 45 dollars/kg
The rest I smoke, salt or freeze for long storage.

he isnt obnoxious he is actually right desu

>ywn live on a comfy island with a couple dozen or so kiwi mates
>they will never spit light-hearted banter at you for being Aussie

Which one are you, user?

how do i achieve this mode

>how do i achieve this mode
Besides living in Scandinavia this is how I did it.
>skip education, go directly to working at 18
>live in small apartment, save money until you turn 23
>start getting depressed in the city, look for other option
>find island with house for sale
>check your savings, it's enough
>buy it and buy small boat
>move in
>change job and start working on a fishing boat
>actually earn more
>start hunting, start selling
>suddenly you realize this is life, a good life

>Only problem is bears
Any encounters?

>smoked moose and boar
That must be really tasty. I'm assuming you smoke fish too, do you use something like pic related?

>Any encounters?
Yes sir, twice now.
Last season I was up in the hills hunting deer and had pretty much just dropped one and started to gut it when it came walking. Had to fire off 3-4 rounds close to it before she fucked off.
A few years ago I was hunting boar when a smaller bear came running like a madman. Sadly I had to shoot that one. It ran off after that, another hunter in the area finished it off.
>>smoked moose and boar
>That must be really tasty. I'm assuming you smoke fish too, do you use something like pic related?
It is, and no I built my own smoker with a external firebox and smoke tunnel inside that does the job real good smoking meat and fish on three levels
>pic related, it's not beautiful but works well

That's a great smoker. Wooden structure combined with the firewood give off a better taste than the inox smokers.
Do smokers attract bears or the smoke is too much for them?

>Do smokers attract bears or the smoke is too much for them?
They avoid smoke. Never had any problems with them while smoking anyways.

Congrats on your life. You sound fullfilled.
Last question: is there anything you miss from city life?

>is there anything you miss from city life?
I do miss living close to shops etc but nothing I can't live without.

Take care

damn you are a talented person. i love solitude too but very few people can achieve such a life.
