Why is Sup Forums so slow and boring lately?

Why is Sup Forums so slow and boring lately?

is Sup Forums dead?

Yes

No, Sup Forums traffic is as high as it ever has been. But everyone just went to Sup Forums instead

Mods banned power rankings and forced generals. The result is the Sup Forums we have today, a stale shell of what it used to be

International break for yuroshits and no handegg for amerifattys

who's this ayy lmao?

anyways your answer is janitors. Most boards have jumped up in traffic but Sup Forums went backwards because fun is forbidden here

everyone's down at the donkey show watching your madre entertain the gringos on spring break

Mods ruined this board, the generals have made this place slow as fuck and they took away all the funposting
>TFW you here to witness the shitposting golden age of Sup Forums

Sup Forums used to provide the best memes too, it was in the same level as Sup Forums and Sup Forums. Now this place is just full of faggot redditors

The first two pages are literally the same threads 24 hours a day. A few non-generals will be created, but they're quickly swept under.

*were
*on

Yes everyone is too busy posting in their gens/subreddits

the last time Sup Forums was good was during the 2014 WC

These the generals are full of the worst faggotry, non-general threads get buried, and people just post in nba threads instead of making gamethreads.

Also this.

It was the last good blip precisely for the reason that it buried the generals and people were making gamethreads and posting different threads and creating good content to go along with the news of the day.

Sup Forums is cycling in under an hour.
Sup Forums is cycling at 8 hours
RIPIP Sup Forums

Most stick to generals, for instance I always liked boxing threads during fight night but that's recently become a general as well, which just leads to a circle jerk of the few posters who post there frequently, convincing themselves they're boxing connoisseurs
It's going to become /heem/ /f1/ tier

dumb ayyposter

Somebody should dox the jannies so we can go post-mod on this board.

Eyes too far apart.

Sup Forums is dead

Sup Forums is bigger than ever

Also, flags, and the lack of late night feels threads

combination of janitors, mods, and a reddit mentality

>flags
I really don't want to admit this is true, because some fun memes have come out of flags on Sup Forums.

If there were a way to turn flags off except during major international tournaments, I think that would be a happy medium.

kek, we had one of the greatest threads in years today

Stay salty that you missed it

we grew up OP

All there really is right now is basketball and mods are a bit strict sometimes with off topic threads

But there was that porn thread that survived a couple days before being deleted earlier today

Sup Forums isn't a 24/7 board as it's strongly influenced by real life events, it's mid week and most games are played on weekends, and sp/ is at his absolute best when big sporting events are happening (see Superbowl, CL semis and final every year and the entirety of Summer Olympics and the World Cup)

that being said the TSUU thread from earlier today was the most fun i've had on the internet for at least a year or so

2009-12 Sup Forums was god tier

>john stockton streams
>sports game streams
>Sup Forumstv
>sphl
>power ranking threads
>autism putt
>solid seven memes
>car chase threads
>get away with itb owl
>egyptian revolutionb owl
>tsunamib owl
>100 infrastructure
>people made multiple threads for multiple topics instead of staying in a general
>works with wood
>younique posting
>dad got me hard

I could go on forever.

I miss that place.

we used to be a 24/7 board with bro culture threads at night where people were always active with power rankings, event threads and shitposting

but then the ones that do it
>for free
ruined it and made Sup Forums shit

>me streams
>>Sup Forumstv
:(, i don't know mods insisted on generals. go to reddit for that shit. maybe there should be a /spg/

tfw can't make threads with this picture anymore

This. Sup Forums is literally useless besides Sup Forums.

y not?

>mfwaawfnm

>didnt see the tsuuuuuuuu thread this morning

2bad

Sup Forums has stolen a ton of traffic

I always make a game thread and no one posts in it

Sup Forums is Sup Forums. I have no opinion on this just stating fact

brah if you were in Sup Forums in 2010-2013 or earlier these threads would be daily, great spot to hang out and talk with some lads

/nba/ general checking in

we've lost roughly 50% of our population during summer due to intense shitposting by one autist who avatarfags Steph Curry

most of us just chill in the locked discord nowadays

It's sad that people here are actually defending the status quo.

There's a reason I see Sup Forums have more of these type of threads than any other board. Our best days are behind us, and all that's left is for us to have fun reminiscing and complaining about how the Mods directly rekt this place.

it's not even they got rid of good off topic threads, going to spee for sports has gotten way worse.

the mods won

shut up and go to your general

This is our /nostalgia/ general

get out and leave us alone

/nba/ was never good. kys

why is Sup Forums the only place that doesn't allow any fun?

all other boards are allowed to have off-topic threads except us

>tfwywncomcf

postan the superior version

This
pol is the new b

A
FUCKING
LEAF

how do you manage to fuck up something so easy?

>not enjoying comfy world cup/Olympics threads
>Lesotho

These, and whether you like it or not, the American football season has a big role in Sup Forums traffic

Mods and jannies have made it their mission to make Sup Forums a no-fun allowed board. So everyone went off to Sup Forums and Sup Forums.

That's only true for boards the mods don't give a shit about like Sup Forums. Sup Forums is over-moderated as fuck too.

lamo you fucks had to make a safespace

Redditors and shitposters tend to do that

All these nostalgic comments are making me sad.

We must take our board back guys

Redditors, not shitposters. Golden Age Sup Forums had shitposters for days, feces alone is one of the GOAT shitposters in all Sup Forums history. Reminder that reddit cancer were what started the generals and called for more moderation.

This. Politics is the new sport of young white males.

this is him btw, we've developed filters to stop him but his autism knows no limits

thankfully mods have been great up his spam lately

The generals made this board one of the slowest.

You meant 2012

I wish mods would routinely delete generals, there is no creativity anymore. Yesterdays ronaldo statue thread being the single recent exception.

>mods destroyed Sup Forums bro culture
>the 2016 US election
>containment threads everywhere

WHATS WRONG WITH YOUR FACE

our boi ian winning big brother was goat

all those bb threads
all those memes
strong user posts

Yep I stopped going to /nba/ because of the intense autism there (waffle draft was the final stroke)

>this NEET sperg on here all day every day for years and years talking shit about posting frequently and circle jerking

Sup Forums is way more entertaining than Sup Forums and I am a liberal

>implying Holzbacker wasn't one of the best during his prime.

>Boring
>He missed one of the greatest threads this board has ever had

Anya a cute

>Forgetting ass threads

I amassed such a collection just to share with /sp too

>having a throne of brains

It's fucking great to be a burgerican

>lexplorer being publicly autistic and not being in jail

You must also be stupid then.
This is the equivalent of watching a clown put a pie on his face.

lel pretty good analogy really

I sometimes like to glance at the board, but it really does remind me of Sup Forums in the late 2000s. Just layers of troll threads, the "my name is john", and other race baiting threads.

>same level as Sup Forums and Sup Forums
>Sup Forums

wut. 2008-2012 Sup Forums was the best board on the site, bar none. Then the redditards and mods came and it was never the same again

>NFL off season
>out of control hot pockets
>too many nogs lovers infiltrating

What's wrong with it? If you want to talk about a particular sport go to a general. You can shitpost in gamethreads which are still active. I like neo Sup Forums. It's comfy.

> I rate Sarkozy

Generals are fucking cancer and kill boards

dont forget haxball threads

Sup Forums is dying a slow death

Generals do kill boards, Sup Forums is supposed to follow a forum model not a chat room model

Generals are pretty bad no matter where you look, it's a shame but they're here to stay. Once you let one start going, it's basically impossible to shut down

Somebody metioned the shitty Sup Forums mods earlier in the thread but the one thing they did right is when there's nothing new to talk about in a show the general gets nuked, they only work as some sort of containment for a very brief period, but really mods should just delete duplicate threads that aren't generals instead of encouraging generals. It doesn't help that the nuked generals decided to set up on /trash/ which makes your statement on them being impossible to kill true.

Sup Forums's generals are really bad though. Frozen got to 1000 threads. You know, the hour and a half movie? It's crazy, but both the users and the janitors are a bit of a problem on Sup Forums desu. I think the latter has enabled the former.

The thing is sports are a different beast to cartoons though. Most of them are on most of the time and if not there's generally updates somewhere that kind of loosely validates the need for a thread. Generals are a problem because they force discussion as opposed to letting them flow freely. Even this stuff said, most things don't need a 24/7 thread but at the same time, if you were to nuke a general, wouldn't threads about the topic be constantly made anyway, sort of giving it the same effect? I don't even know man this general shit has gone on so long I can barely remember what it was like before they became so widespread. Samurai Jack is a nice change to that on Sup Forums. Popular af, no general, just nice discussion. Suppose it could be more like that but even then people bitch about it because their special snowflake show doesn't get the same attention

/trash/ is also horrible, hate it because it's basically allowing all the cancer we wanted off this site here and giving them a place to stay and fester. It also breaks up discussion too and kills the community, because people just go there to discuss topic X, instead of discussing it where topic X should be discussed. Don't understand the point of it.

/box/ is the only general worth a damn on this board and everyone that goes on is not trying to spam memes like the autism that goes on /heem/

/Out/ /trv/ and /o/ are very slow but are half decent boards.

>but it really does remind me of Sup Forums in the late 2000s. Just layers of troll threads, the "my name is john", and other race baiting threads.

Last time I went on Sup Forums it was 3 cuck threads, a FB fap thread, and a rate my dick thread.
Sup Forums used to be fun. I started posting & lurking in 08-09. The first thread I ever participated in was a "is this a black or horse pussy" thread. Im a proud veteran of the tumblr wars. I was deep deep fucking cover man.
Then I got a job, laid, and some friends and stopped browsing from like 12-13.
I like Sup Forums. HWNDU was one of the funniest things I had seen on Sup Forums for a while.

>Generals are a problem because they force discussion as opposed to letting them flow freely. Even this stuff said, most things don't need a 24/7 thread but at the same time, if you were to nuke a general, wouldn't threads about the topic be constantly made anyway, sort of giving it the same effect? Not even sure either, but the threads should be made if there's a relevant update to make, and not just fuck them into a general. We have the problem here with Sup Forums where you can only really talk about current stuff, it's not like Sup Forums or Sup Forums where you can talk about older shows frequently, if you made a thread on the 2006 World Cup alone you'd get fuck all replies for it, that's why we should be allowed have some off topic shit for when there's nothing really happening like earlier this week with football in Europe only being international friendlies.
We'll hopefully see something like the Samurai Jack discussion when the World Cup starts again where most people want to talk about that and it can't fit into a general, fuck anyone who bitches about their shit not getting enough attention, if you want that make your own thread.
>/trash/ is also horrible,
>Don't understand the point of it.
Not really sure, it could have been really interesting if you weren't allowed make threads there and instead only could post in moved threads when the mods actually bothered to move them, it could have been nice to have "culture" threads like Costanza threads, I think one was moved early on from here, but all it became was a place for furfags to set up. You mentioning the splitting of the community is another problem with generals, I've no idea what goes on with hockey here because anyone who's interested in that stays in /hoc/ and they enclose themselves off from the rest of the board along with many other sports.

/o/ isn't that slow, it's a mid tier board. /out/ and /trv/ are way slower than them but are pretty comfy.
Sup Forums got worse over time as other boards like here started to get more attention and become the centre of the site, the whole board is pretty much just cuck threads and facebook fap now, and other shit like roll threads. Sup Forums doesn't even connect with the rest of the site anymore. Sup Forums is the current centre of the site and this will generally lead to them producing the most of the memorable content at this time with shit like HWNDU, soon they'll probably decline and some other board will probably gain the title then.

She's Argentine, ergo not your love

She wouldn't even look at you, you mexifat

No way the World Cup will be forced into a general, that literally never happens and even if it does, the Cup itself is such a big event you don't even have to pay attention to it. The thing is these different annual events only come around so often, they don't really reflect how it is on the rest of the board with other topics. As for /trash/, yeah it'd have been fine if shit was just moved there and nothing could be made but it's just cancer at the moment.
Doesn't help Hiro is at the helm who either doesn't have much clue what's going on, or is playing the rusemeister doing what he can to sell passes and user data to make shekels.
