This is really neat, actually. I like the synths used. Especially the kinda bleepy one that kinda sounds like a bell knocked up a cell phone. The visuals on both vids are interesting too. Did you make them, or are they from something else?
It reminds me of Alice in Chains. I fucking love Alice in Chains.
Reminds me of something Saint Pepsi or Luxury Elite would make. Ace vaporwave my dude.

This is pretty good, if you've been getting harsh reviews its probably that it sounds a little generic, not really pushing the boat out. But it's still a solid example of poppy 80s-ish synth, keep it up!
Nice melodies, maybe lighten up a bit on the reverb but i guess that's the point.

this really isnt my sort of genre so im probably out of my depth in commenting on it. the percussion throughout the album is amazing though, love all the syncopation. you have some really cool use of vocal samples as well, i really liked that repeating "wawa" sort of vocal sample on Night shift. The bass lines really stuck out to me as well. Solid job man

Love this vibe very spooky, especially your sound selection and use of gates n shit.
These visuals are fuckin amazing, the way it syncs up with the sounds is so dope. Havent heard of this genre before either
Do you sell instrumentals, id like to work with the kind of chill funky vibe on Orange
This is hella light and fun, not my thing but can definitely appreciate the samples
Kinda generic but i like trap and your groove patterns are on point imo, try to expand your sound selection, maybe find some dope samples or synths.
is me.
I can tell you that your stuff is really well done imo, not really groundbreaking but enjoyable. Sounds ambient enough for a video game ost, reminds me of X-Com for some reason. Not sure if that's a plus for you though. But keep making stuff, I'm sure you'll figure something out.
Twinkly guitars with beats is cool. I kinda wish ORANGE was longer honestly. Not sure how I feel about the vocal samples in INFINITY but, still nice and chill.
Well-chosen samples, they do help set the mood for your tracks. Really fun to listen to your stuff.

Getting Blank Banshee vibes, although darker and less refined.
Does Quintessence use a tornado siren?
A bit all over the place, but not bad. Feels like some melodic lines aren't synced up properly.
Sounds completely unique/bizarre compared to typical hip hop beats found here. What do you use for samples?
Wrong link for DJ Lima

Funny you should mention Blank Banshee, that's actually prob one of my biggest influences.
That's a synth on Quintessence, actually. It just sounds like a siren (that's the idea, anyway).

Too soft. Needs a better singer or just go instrumental.
6.4/10
Well done, nothing new though.
6.79/10
Song is well written, production is nice and raw. Needs some remixing/mastering and maybe a new vocal take. Good stuff though.
6.75/10
Good stuff, knows it's bounds. Production is lacking and leans on too soft, could definitely use some more dissonance. A tad monotonous.
Did you not hear the middle section? It goes much heavier
I assume this is DelightfulChildren, no? If I'm correct, yes I did. You are good musicians, and yes the section is heavier, but it is not jarring. It's all very tasteful, sophisticated even, but I'm not surprised by what I hear. The distortion on the guitar is very tasteful, but it's smoothed over by the overall vibrations of the song, blending into the background. It fits the mood very well, but that mood is soft, cool, lacking a distinct edge that keeps you at the edge of your seat.
I understand. I appreciate your feedback. If you have time I would maybe suggest hearing our other demo (August 2016) its much more jarring and heavy but also with some lush sections. That demo is all instrumental
nice stuff
I actually did, it was good. Honestly I preferred your newer one. I just think you're a little too smooth for your own good. Listen to more John McLaughlin/Mahavishnu Orchestra, if you aren't already.
How much heavier should we go? I listen to tons of jarring shit, esp in the jazz world, also with all that Fusion/Prog i.e. Mahavishnu. C# Jam to me is that raw heavy sound, and the drone section in the middle of Blossom sounds a lot like John Mclaughlin to me.
Is it just a matter of being too soft for too long? If it were at that level but ramped up dynamically later is the soft part excusable? Or is the "too soft" part just personal preference?
Saw you on a bandcamp thread once before, really liked it, downloaded
skaldic.bandcamp.com
>experimental black metal called skaldic

I don't have time atm to listen your other track, but I'll gve you ab it more feedback. In all honestly I don't have an opinion on how heavy or dissonant you should go, that's totally up to you. I just think it would sound more natural to have it that way. I do music production and I've heard some 'soft' stuff more jarring than heavily distorted noisy stuff. It's about intent and emotion. Music isn't quantifiable in that way, whatever life the artist leads, whatever is in their subconscious really, will inevitably come through in the artist. Don't fight this, don't worry about aesthetic appeal. The human experience is universal, and when an artist stays closest to what the truly feel, good or bad, the result will always have an impact/be jarring. A wise man once told me not to go with the flow but to swim against the stream. I think I can hear more experimental leanings in your music, and from hat you said that is what you hear as well. Focus on that, and the music will come to you easier and will have a more significant impact. I'm sorry I don't have more straight forward advice for you, just stay a true as possible to the what you feel.

No,this is mainly an outlet for amateur and new artists to share their music. Just a shame to see so many people using their effort to create something everyone's heard a thousand times before. Why even come to this thread if you want to find generic, uninspired rehashed trash?
bumping
He says while not posting anything at all.
This isn't just a thread for sharing music, it is also for music discovery. As a music listener I can have opinions on what music is or isn't rehashed. In fact I have more of a right to say so, I am your audience, I am your livelihood. Don't be so offended, I didn't address anyone specifically, I even said it wasn't everyone in this thread.
Literally, I am.

>It's foolish to expect non-derivative music from amateur musicians and obnoxious to complain about it
If you are saying this as a musician you hold no sense of worth or ambition for you or your peers. If you are saying this as a listener you are jaded also hold no regard for the artists that create the music you listen to. Amateur musicians are equally capable of creating interesting fresh music as professionally trained musicians are to create rehashed garbage. To push for the best is not a bad thing, don't sell yourself short.
>I am your livelihood
>Haha, okay settle down.
If you are an artist and are laughing at that, you lack any sense of ambition and have already resigned yourself to never amounting to anything major. The role of an artist is not serve their audience, but it should be acknowledged that their audience is the only thing that allows their art to be spread and appreciated on a wider scale. To say that your audience is not your livelihood, is not what separates you from joe-schmo is completely foolish.
if you take your membership of the audience so seriously, why dont you promote the music you do like instead of just shitting on things you think will never go anywhere? surely this will result in more of what you like getting produced and distributed
thanks man, like the beats. THE bOOKEY TAPE is nice record. Creative sounds, on point production, ideal length. Quality stuff. Fav track: Krystalcore
*Exotica is genre from the 50es, and depending of how you look at it, it is either inauthentic world-music or the music of imaginary places (that is the way I see it).
thx, let me know which post is yours and I'll return feedback.
nice sounds, but I don't like the mixing/production. Everything is a little bit to direct and in your face. I think the track would benefit from a bit more room that makes the sounds softer.
I demand a full 10minute collage of clapping-sounds, cause that was great way to open the track. Nice stuff, would like to hear more.
like the non-abrasive sound of your record. Do more vocals, because death to the weak is pretty neet. But on the first half are a few stinckers that just don't work with that kind of sound (In my opinon) For example: Lost In The Sea Of Fear has a nice solo, but the distand effect-heavy guitar and progressive playing don't work well in combination with the direct drum-sound.
Fav Track: The starswatch us
The gang:
I will check out Atonement today, been kind of hyped to listend to that because of the Einhorn parts (love his minimal dungeon synth stuff)
I hope you enjoyed the gay the shit
Honestly I'd rather not. I prefer to just give individual feedback and hope that the artist takes it as food for thought. I'd rather not belittle or praise specifically in this context. I believe everyone has the capacity to do well, so I'd rather not say 'this one is good' or 'this one is bad' in this specific sense. It's just better not to name names when in a debate of this sort. I made a blanket statement about the thread addressing no one specifically and that is how I'd like it to stay, those who took offense are more than likely those who I made the post for.
I did though, I have commented on several things in this thread saying what I liked or didn't like about their song. I even had a conversation with one of the artists letting them know the direction I'd like to see them go in. And then I made a post saying a lot of it is just same thing over and over. If you are so insecure that your art is one of those that I was addressing, maybe work on the things that you are uncertain about in your art.
