uhhhhhhhhhhh
Its between this or Tarkus
>Listening to RYM genres
OK Computer has votes for "Neo-Prog"
Tarkus is only good as a song, not an album
>I'VE SWORN TO KILL EVERY LAST ONE
it's wikipedia actually
RYM is for fags
...

...
Aphrodites child 666
Even fucking worse. At least RYM gets voted on, Wiki genres depend on who feels like adding them when the mods are not watching their article.
Good pick user
Has anyone else heard this? Prob one of the best modern prog albums I've ever heard
Gentle Giant is fucking amazing. But I like Power and the Glory slightly better than Octopus
PatG > Octopus > Three Friends > Acquiring the Taste > s/t
This is also really good. Severely underrated. I don't see anyone talk about it. What's your favorite song off of it?
true that. I could literally just go change the genres on any obscure album right now, and nobody would notice
Easily
Probably Jordrök, the phenomenal drumming on it is a pleasure to listen to, such a shame that Mattias Olsson left the band after Viljans Öga
Of course I like all the classics but this album really sticks out for me. Zeuhl with some post-rock and noise rock influences.
What do you say to the people who criticize the album for being "overly pretentious, too long, and full of padding?"
(Not a hater, I love that album too. It was my first introduction to Yes)
nigga this shit sound like progressive Castlevania
Came here to post these
De-Loused is better and more quotable than Frances
I will fight you to the death
The chorus on "I know what I like" is so fucking cheesy and stupid
anybody heard this one? Italian prog is really something else. so pretty
does this count?
Meh I liked the whole album.
I don't care what other people think, I don't conform my taste to that of others.
Good album
You posted it
No love for In the Glass House?
That was the lamest answer you could have possibly given me
...
SHIT. I forgot about glass house. I rank it between Acquiring the Taste and s/t.
It has one of the most killer opening tracks ever but the rest album kind of pales in comparison, in my humble opinion
...
medieval prog
Kek
That looks like wikipedia to me.
Posting mine.
There was a time when I had The Battle of Epping Forest entirely memorized.
...
give me cheesy synth prog
You ever hear this one by them? Opinions?
...
Of course. Great album. Great chops from Holdsworth & Bruford on this one. However I like the second one slightly better.
Yeah I like Danger Money better too. Actual, the title track is one of my fav songs of all
*actually, lol bad typo
your pic
The text is close to the edge
Underrated masterpiece
The GOAT.
This is amazing of course, but i think Godbluff and Still Life are better.
>everytime
The build up on Starship Trooper.
Hands down my favorite prog album has to be Lamb I think. It just gives me all kinds of good vibes every time I hear it. Runners up would be Joe's Garage by Frank Zappa and Close to the Edge
I was just relistening to this, I'm on Perpetual Change and the whole album is way better than I remember! Originally thought just Starship Trooper and Your Move were the only good tracks.
Godbluff over Pawn any day. I also really like Still Life.
huge props to these albums, RPI is my favorite kind of prog. Per un amico is fucking fantastic but L'Isola di niente is superior.
I've never heard of it but thanks for recommending it user. I'll make it my next album to listen to
Either this or Depression, Cressida is too underrated desu
This is really difficult, but if I had to pick it would probably be pic related.
addendum, I also have to say Argent is criminally underrated
these
One of my favourites too
pic related or the snow goose by camel
Anyone?
Remember The Future
I like the s/t more.
bump
Good stuff
my niggas
not prog but still pretty good
I enjoy Rush, Genesis, Yes and Camel a lot, but can't get into Pink Floyd or King Crimson.
Recommend me some prog bands.
Also, my favourite prog album
Alan Parsons Project and ELP

Ujubasajuba is more post-rock / shoegaze
Ruination is more proggy
One of these
Gentle Giant, my man
...
...
This is a top fuggin choice Finland is great at prog
Have you heard of Hidria Spacefolk? They're another underrated Finnish prog group. They're a bit spacier though, I would say they sound like a mix of Kingston Wall and Ozric Tentacles
...
>ascension over gaibsiv v1
hello???
I agree with you buddy, don't worry
>tfw the instruments are fucking great but the vocalist sounds like a whiny faggot and ruins it
They went poppier in their later stuff but their first 3 albums are amazing.
>not expecting weird vocals in a prog album
have you never listened to prog before?
The vocals are the best part what are you talking about? I wouldn't love the mars volta nearly as much without their strange yet catchy choruses
Not my favourite, but I really love it so I'll share it anyway
who said anything about weird I'm talking about shitty vocals from a guy who was in an emo band
Those are both really fucking good, I like Amos Ame especially. I really appreciate the recommendation user! Also have you ever heard of Piirpauke? I have a huge hard on for their first album, it's a lot more folk than yours though
youtube.com

yep, great album.
Have you heard of Celeste?
They never get mentioned when italian prog is brought up and they are incredible
my fav album. brought so much to the table and hasn't been matched since
Fear Of A Blank Planet is bretty gud. Close second is probably Animals by PF
>XBOX
>not prog
Can you tell me why you think this? It basically sounds like a Yes album
wrong
