It's a shit show. The entire appeal lies in the 80s nostalgia, it's just a series of cliches otherwise, and the occasional stupid jumpscare.

Well, I was first exposed to Stranger Things when I was deep in the woods of an acid trip. The beginning scene of the 1st season with the DD playing was intense. As the boys yelled about the Demigorgon, I was shocked to see them actually firing spells at the beast whilst their eyes popped and bulged. It was so intense I couldn't continue and I opted to spend the next few hours lying in the grass looking at clouds. When I returned the next day to watch it again I was shocked to see no special effects in that scene.
Good show but it will never live up to my first exposure to it.

I feel like Max will get written better in the coming seasons. I don't think whoever does the writing is good at introducing characters. Look at the way they introduced 11 in season 1, and how she's developed. Arguably the most badass of all the kids, yet she falls head over heels for Mike and after a year in the woods with nothing but a police officer, a dictionary, and old movies on tv to watch all day and she barely knows more words than a 1st grader.

The millennium falcon playset was fucking awesome. Cost $50 back then, which is like a $150 dollar toy today, but it was awesome.
I never had the X-Wing, but a friend did. I remember being disappointed the astromech slot was built in and you couldn't put the old R2D2 in it like in the movie. But they had to have a button to extend the wings.
