First for Gio blowing Wehrlein the fuck out again

Yeah, that's kind of the point.

Ferrari never work with two #1 drivers. Maranello would implode.

Threadly reminder

Italy you had one job

you can't even make a thread edition dedicated to your own country's best driver

It is equally necessary to add:

The PINNACLE of engineering

I wonder if loowis even knows he exists.

>you are now aware that because Stroll Sr. l (born Lawrence Sheldon Strulovitch) pumped so much money into Prema to ensure his son will win F4 and F3, they were able to not only expand to GP2 with a brutal budget, but also take in Giovinazzi for the sole reason that he is Italian even though he brought >nomoney except for some chicken buckaroonis, which then resulted in Giovinazzi driving well in a car that over-inflates or at least accentuates his skill because of the massive resource and personnel advantage Prema has, against a chokelord teammate, which then caught the attention of F1 and the media, resulting in Giovinazzi getting not only Ferrari backing, but also an out-of-the-blue opportunity to make his F1 debut and impress enough in the process to basically guarantee himself a full-time drive in the future

Thanks based LARRY

which circuits are 3, 4 and 6?

3 and 6 are Chang International in Thailand and 4 is Buddh

I don't get the point of this, the racing line is still the same and the ultra wide entry just makes going side by side into the narrower section more awkward.

It also visually just looks so much less impressive when the entry to a corner is a carpark. Going side by side on a "narrow" track with grass on both sides is so much more awesome looking and also riskier obviously.

These bloated rectum corner entries are so disgusting

thanks here's another, dumping a few more

...

The absolute madman

>DAE hate le Tilke?

[autistic screeching intensifies]

he gets unnecessary hate (Malaysia, Bahrain are good; Hockenheim is free from his meme hairpins) but then he goes and does stupid shit like this

Retard here. Explain me the Tilke meme please. I understand the run-off and no gravel, but the hairpin no.

Wew, those rear wings look retarded as fuck

Possibly the single worst corner(s) on the calendar.

He makes the corners wider on the entry or exit, sometimes both, or mid corner for no discernible reason except "there's not enough overtaking opportunities on this circuit I've designed, instead of comprehensively studying how best to improve this weakness I'm going to use a stopgap solution of making the track wider so it can fit more cars side by side lol"

It's become a signature of his circuits and reeks of laziness, and doesn't even seem to improve overtaking. Sometimes it does work though, e.g. Bahrain turn 4 ( ) but it's still a meme corner

Actually pretty much triggered by Kimi going wide and then coming back towards the racing line. Kvyat was opportunistic but I think it was pretty clear Vettel was blaming him just because he didn't want to blame himself or Kimi for the collision between the two teammates. Collision could have happened regardless of Kvyat, depending on how Vettel would have reacted. I put most of the blame on GIMI though lol, not exactly top-tier spatial awareness

Should also note that the few Tilke designs that don't include the Tilke hairpin are typically excessively wide (IE Yas Marina)

...

Does Vettel not realize you have to leave space for a car that's half-length close to you baka

Yeah that chicane exists just because the cars would otherwise be arriving to the hairpin at like 320 kmh and there's not enough FIA-approved space there for runoff for such speeds, and behind the grandstands there is the Ferrari world building so...

I mean they should have figured this shit out BEFORE they built the track but for once I somewhat agree with having a chicane there for safety reasons.

Abu Dhabi overall could be made into a fantastic circuit with a few small tweaks, especially of the low speed corners. Unfortunately none of these tweaks are actually possible IRL because of the way the track and it's surroundings and lack of space for runoff is designed

Thanks. Now I understand. Anyway, it seems like Tilke has good intentiones, but bad execution, no?

Kimi is partially at fault but I blame Vettel more, he's the car behind. Kvyat obviously caused Vettel to stay out wide more but Vettel completely overreacted and Kblyat did nothing wrong

Better than v1

lol

He also likes to make corner radii as narrow/sharp as possible, instead of rounding the corner out, effectively rendering the track as a "point and squirt"—brake to a very low speed, get off the throttle completely, wait an age as you turn into the slow, slow speed corner, wait another age after you pass the apex and then finally get on the power—one which requires little driver skill except being able to minimise oversteer on corner exit as you floor the throttle.

Sepang is comically wide, something like 22 metres, and I don't know why at all. Not to say it's a bad circuit; it's fairly underrated

In fairness he is restricted by the landowner/promoter's wishes as a lot of the time they have a vision they're stubbornly unwilling to compromise on.

>tfw actually enjoy quite a few of Tilke's designs

The guy is not a retard and is also a racer himself, it's not like he doesn't know what his tracks are like. I'm sure the FIA aren't the easiest people to work with and getting something approved by their autismo safety standards probably isn't the most fun work you can do.

>Red Bull/A1 Ring - not as good as the original but not a bad circuit at all
>Hockenheim - original was iconic but if you ignore the original and consider this new track in itself, it's not that bad
>Malaysia - just a good, if not great circuit IMO, great mix of technicality and high speed
>Istanbul Park - GOAT except for maybe the very final corners and the fact that the whole track looks like shit
>Bahrain - just a great track IMO
>Singapore - good considering the limitations, dunno how much of this was completely Tilke's though
>Korea/India - both passable tracks with a few good sectors, ruined by the way they looked and various other things, fun to drive in >games
>Baku - interesting Macau-lite street circuit. I'd give it another chance with F1 before writing it off completely

Tracks like Shanghai, Abu Dhabi and Sochi can fuck right off though

>Almost as weird was Kaltenborn being 'surprised' by Giovinazzi's performance? Does she not peek out of the motor-home when GP2 is on??

Kek, Tiff Needell is so based.

I have revised this corner to maximize overtaking opportunities and improve safety standards to allow Yas Marina to obtain FIA AAA+ runoff rating

So fucking halal bro

Just make sure the track turns left and utilizes those small unused track sections.

here's a twofer

holy shit LOL

it looks like he gave up halfway through designing that

Motorland is pretty good also, WEC teams use it all the time for testing

L-lewd

This track pretty great. I hate it, because on MotoGP13, I kept going over the handlebars because of the elevation changes mid-corner, but it's an interesting track.

Barcelona chicane always bothered be because of sheer laziness.

Would've been much cooler if they went around the penultimate bend and then had to enter the chicane immediately after.

No corner will ever trigger me as much as the Barcelona chicane

There's like at least 5 better ways to make that corner more bearable whilst still achieving the goal of slowing the cars down for the final corner

I don't really get why the Barcelona final corner is such a big safety concern unless its spicbike. People have gone straight at 130R, Magnussen crashed hard at Eau Rouge, Blanchimont is a corner that exists and no one complains.

that's almost as dumb as getting your hand grinded in a shitty local italian rally

>I don't really get why the Barcelona final corner is such a big safety concern
It isn't
The chicane was added to "improve overtaking", and now they pretend it's a safety feature because the chicane fucking reduced overtakes

I'm sure its going to come to the point that teams are simply going to force drivers to sign contracts that prevent all sort of extracurricular racing and skiing during the off season

i think the big teams already do that

but Lewis does all sorts of "dangerous" shit like mountain climbing and playing with tigers

I remember that, they said the cars couldn't follow each other through both right handers at high speed. Turns out they can't follow through the chicane either.

This elite design forces the lead driver to either run wide on the racing line on turn in, opening up the bottom, or defend the inside and completely ruin their speed onto the front straight.

The "not fit enough" thing is such bullshit

The 2017 Sauber isn't exactly a demon and probably not even faster than 2016 Merc. And Wehrlein has driven the various Mercs several times. Meanwhile Giovinazzi comes from GP2 and LMP2, has had like 1 Ferrari test and a few days of testing and he's magically fit enough to do a whole race without a problem?

Plus its not like full-time F1 drivers are exactly unfit or out of shape. I think Wehrlein might actually have something more serious going on with his back/neck which he is either keeping a secret from the media, or from everyone because he obviously doesn't want to kill his career. F1 races are rare as fuck. Only 20 per year. You wouldn't miss that because "driving it makes me exhausted and tired and sore" unless you're a total bitch, or you have something much more serious going on. Kimi and Bottas both missed races becuase of back injuries, and in Kimis case it required surgery and in Bottas's case it took some treatment and physio work

How fuckin funny would it be if loowis' hand gets eaten by a fucken tiger during the next offseason

triggered every time Vettel holds a 5 fingered hand up for 5 WDC

kinda want to agree here, who in his right mind decides to not race. these top-tier-sportsmen are maniacs by default.
even more so this guy whom everyone hates because he is so goddamn cocky and know-it-all.
his ego alone would make him race. former team members hate so much him for his fucking ego, threw parties when he finally left a team in previous classes.

and he was cleared by FIA and doctors.

>hate so much him

nice going user

>thx :/

Yeah something just doesn't add up. Maybe in his mind he actually thinks he is so certainly highly rated that he can miss races and it won't be a problem. He didn't impress too much last year, and his career took a pretty serious blow when Ocon was chosen ahead of him to "progress". The attitude problem rumors certainly don't help his case either.

I don't know how happy Mercedes will be to first scramble to find a seat for their junior, and then for that junior to miss like a quarter of the season and be replaced by a Ferrari junior.

>motorsport.com survey doesn't let you pick Gio the Nazi as your favourite driver
wtf i hate zak brown now

maybe it was a kvyat/amx themed swap? they had enough of him and felt Gio would be better?

If GIO can manage to avoid going full Bianchi, does he go to Ferrari in 2019?

I suppose you're still upset from the whole Michiel the Ruyter thing. We made a movie you should see it.

Hijacked the Royal Navy's flagship while it was in port fucking cash I tell you.

...

>GIMI will retire after winning the WDC

at least Kubica wanted to drive at another one but Boullier told him to drive at Italian one

>have enough of the Pascal experience after 1 off season, like 4 days of testing and 2 FP's

lmao I don't think even he could achieve such a feat

Gio also more or less rejected both Red Bull and Mercedes to go to Ferrari. Although he was only offered some DTM shit by Mercedes so I can see why he wasn't that interested. Ironically enough he likely would have ended up driving and testing for Sauber regardless of him picking Ferrari or Mercedes.

Kek

that crash should have been pretty much a non issue for Kvyat and Vettel
both got a better position than they would have had without it

>Monisha pictured as white
Thats racist.

Kimi missed those two races because Lotus was late in paying his salary and they owed him like 15 million or something.

He was supposed to get the back surgery after the season, but when he got tired of Lotus shenanigans, he crashed on purpose in the first corner in Abu Dhabi. Then he left the track immediately after that and informed Lotus that he was gonna have the back surgery before the end of the season and he wasn't available to drive in the last 2 races.

>some DTM shit

What's wrong with DTM?

you have the webm of him leaving the track during the race?

Not gonna lie, former Wehrlein fan here. This is fucking hilarious watching Wehrlein crash and burn. But in all seriousness we can't let this guy get the Sauber seat back.

all you """people""" shitting on Wehrlein just don't want him to drive because you KNOW he'd beat Ericsson harder than Gio ever could

At this rate he'll be there by Monza.

No. But I remember it, it's in this Maldonator video at 10:49

youtube.com/watch?v=9YJHQidXV5M

>beaten by Hairy Anus

Gio's engine will explode the second he overtakes Marcus.

>Wehrlein fan
Why?

No it's because based Gio is one of /f1/s most liked drivers, whilst Princess Pascal is one of the most hated. Also, do you not think most people here would love to see Ericsson get BTFO?

Just look at Wehrlein, DTM is for F1 rejects and retirees.

>Just look at Wehrlein, DTM is for F1 rejects and retirees.

I enjoy it, the racing is more exciting than F1.
Only reason to watch F1 is for the memes.

>creating passing opportunities is problematic for me

Wehrlein has a burst fracture and herniated disc

That's funny as hell.

Zero fucks given. Get the fuck out of the way, Ferrarishit.

Whatever floats your boat. The point I was making was that DTM is not the best series for an aspiring F1 driver.

According to the FIA, DRS is the greatest invention ever brought to Formula 1 and it is the solution to any and all overtaking issues, especially since fans value the immediate reward of push-to-pass 1 shot overtakes compared to multi lap battles battles of the past.

With such a revolutionary design element at the forefront of overtaking design, one has to wonder why any other elements would even be considered.

>Seriously, I think it's going to be Wehrlein. He has driven the Mercedes, and Bottas hasn't. He also seems like a decent guy who will not end up clashing with Lewis. Also having two ethnic drivers would be a huge PR win for Mercedes. I guess we will have to wait until January to find out who it will be!

Fast forward 4 months...

>I PUSH MY FINGERS INTO MY MOUTH

not fat enough mate, nick is a towering colossus above mere mortals

It's hard to find 3D models of fat people, this will have to do.

>Now, he needs to build up his fitness and come back strong. I have no doubt that when he’s back in the car, he’ll prove he’s still the same Pascal

Fuck off Cucko.

Kvyat seems like a chill lad. He's probably the most fun driver to grab a beer with.

>he’ll prove he’s still the same Pascal

>/r/ing video/webm of this

I sure do love spec racing where the only way to pass is DRS.
