First for "Go Harrison or Go Home".

Theory writes all music

...

Justin's got this one covered.

Tele best Caster 2bh

How low can you go?

Are there any tips or weird tricks that make learning the notes and music theory on the guitar as natural and straightforward as it is on the piano?

Agreed tbqh.

learn how to find notes by octave

>240p

What's your favorite pedal you own? What's the most essential pedal in your rig? What is your dream pedal?

>tele

its never too low

Dunno desu. I only really know the fifth and sixth strings.

pedals equal retardation
my dream is a zoom g1xon

Anyone try an Infinite Jets yet? Don't know if it's worth the extra $200 over the Red Panda Particle

Use the I-IV-V technique.

i know the notes on the freboard well but i wont share my method

The what now

What is your opinion on guitars with natural finishes?

For example, key of C is made of:
C, D, E, F, G, A, B
The first note is C, fourth note is F, and fifth note is G,
Now look at the fretboard, see where those notes are positioned.

Only looks good on fancy wood meme machines

I have no words to describe how I feel about referring to this idea as 'the I-IV-V technique'.

i´m against GAS

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Disgusting

I thought the guy would realize what I'm talking about that way.

Nice apart from the binding.

i want one, is that a mim fender deluxe right? any one knows the difference between ash and swamp ash bodies in tone?

rude!

>wood
>affecting tone
pick one

I just think relatively. If I want a major sixth from a tonic, I go up two strings and down one fret, or up one string and up four frets.

In terms knowing which fret represents which absolute pitch, I'd say I only really know the fifth and sixth string by heart.

That's an American Professional. They just added Natural and Candy Apple Red to that line.

They make my willy tingle.

not everyone bury the tone in a wall of fuzz and overdrive bud

A good kind of vomit?

How do you clean a maple fretboard? Do you just use the same polish you use to clean the guitar's body?

I play mostly on clean channel; Even if wood affects tone, it's not in the way you could predict it. Nut, frets and most importantly, strings, have much bigger impact on sound

ITT: We guess what guitar the Tele Vomit guy plays.

slightly damp rag, you don't need to use anything on finished maple boards

he plays some dark virgin shredder "axe"

No. Strat.

When do I get callouses

they play indian made strat copies

Why do people call guitars 'axes'?

About ten years before you get good.

What the fuck was Petrucci thinking? His Ibanez signatures at least looked a e s t h e t i c.

will practicing lead picking with a thin flabby pick improve my technique

looks like typical 80s cheeseball crap

No.

The 80s were the most a e s t h e t i c decade though.

yea, if youre 14 or 60 years old

OK.
Post a picture of what you think is an aesthetically pleasing guitar.

I got them a month after starting to play.

White on white on white strat is the most aesthetic

...

Yeah right Froosh, don't you have some experimental wankery to produce?

No, practicing lead with a thick pointy man pick will improve it. You have more control with stiffer picks, there's less energy lost to the pick bending against strings

The lower you go the more rock and roll

fuckin hard to play like that though

...

>tele

this may be the most repulsive thing i have ever seen in my life

Stop playing guitars with humbuckers.

why do hipsters wear their guitars super high

That's just so wrong, on every level. I love it.

thats why i started yesterday to do my spiders standing up and never lowering the thumb

So the girls in the audience can imagine what it looks like when they get together and he cradles her son in his arms

Give it 4 necks and it could have been designed by a squid.

cradles her boyfriend's son in xe's arms*

>using a guitar strap

>girls

>not sticking your dick in the tremolo cavity and holding your guitar up with the force of your erection

Stop playing electric guitars.

If you can't fingerpick, you shouldn't play guitar at all.

Agreed.

>tele

what begginer amp (must have gain, reverb, chorus[was looking into marshall code 25c) and guitar(thinking about yamaha pacifica or rgx 121)?

is this low enough to play stones?
that bag back there is a regular scale bass not a guitar ok

Jesus Christ, look how tiny samuel is compared to that guitar behind him.

literally who

will i be able to bend with as much control at this strap height if i practice enough

>Samuel actually plays more than anyone else in /gg/

Jesus Christ, look how tiny samuel is compared to that guitar behind him.

How tall do you think he is, lads? 5'2, 5'3?

Standard door is 7'
I'd say he's max 5'6"

>indie guitarist play with the guitar up to their armpit

why do they keep doing this?

It's more comfortable, I've seen lots of jazz guys do it too

Yeah the hues can't afford enough protein to grow past manlet.

Your shit, post it

Any advice on learning mandolin?

Not sure if right thread but /diy/ told me to post here.

I was considering after being inspired by Choro Club music in various animations. (Aria, YKK) as well as their own regular albums.

Is it possible to play these kinds of songs on normal mandolin or do I need to track down a Bandolim?

I also like various kinds of folk music/civil war era music from USA.

I have tried to learn guitar in past to varrying degrees of success but overall I have forgot most of it.

Any advice on first instrument or book as well.

Example of choro club music: youtube.com/watch?v=KozJ0Wlqkd8

you need a cavaquinho for choro

I know this is the guitar thread, but that drum set is so triggering:

>Hi-hats are on a regular cymbal stand
>Each cymbal stand is a different model
>That drum couch
>The hanging tom
>Those baby-sized cymbals
>Snare drum height compared to the rest of the set
>Drum heads needed to be replaced months/years ago
>Inexplicably hanging two sets of headphones

Hardwood floors with flat walls everywhere is just icing on the cake.
