Yea, it's all free, Texasito.

You could stand to take Economics 101 with your free education.

>free

>free

apparently your free chilean education contained courses on minor memetics but lacked economics

If they make college free then they need to get rid of about 90% of all the majors or it will be an immense waste of time.
Have a look in an american college's course catalog, its mostly bullshit that wont pay you a dime afterwards and is completely useless to society

>"free"

>be the dominant military superpower of the world
>subsidize the military needs and defense spending of two continents
>residents of those continents bragging about how much money they have to spend on areas that are not defense
>mfw

>Texasito

>Monkeyland
>Germanistan
>The Great Stocholm Kaliphate
>Zambiaggetia

you are a typical bootlicker, you probably think philosophy is less valuable than shuffling money around on the stock market because your teenage brain understands one but not the other

$7k student debt limit (incl. living expenses per schedule) per semester in my province which is better than free because it incentives people to pick/try for harder and more expensive degrees instead of settling.
No interest until 6 months after you graduate. Trudeau just announced you don't have to make start making tiered payments until you make $25k/yr. Different system but it works.

>free

Ya the problem is that we teach Liberal arts and most of the countries do not.

>fREEEE

>be in one of those countries
>get half my paycheck taken away from me for 40 years
>it's ok, free college for 4 years :^)

Philosohpy means nothing when it can't feed your family, you Soviet Dog Bulsuvibitch.

Meanwhile Denmark & Norway have each done more to fight Somali piracy. Meanwhile you can't even muster public support to fight ISIS. Meanwhile Russia is taking European lands as it sees fit and making America look pathetic on the world stage. Meanwhile France is fighting in Mali alone. Meanwhile Africa keeps genociding itself and the USA doesn't say anything but point in the direction of European shores.
A retired Canadian general put it well when he said that Vietnam neutered the American military and Iraq finished the job.

Oh we'll see how many colleges are still free when they're filled with shitskins and can no longer rely on abroad students to pick up the slack.

You can have free university + Kick out all post 1965 immigrants and their families. (You may replace them with Northern Europeans)
or
Keep the immigrants and pay for University...

You think University will be free in Sweden in 10 years ? Dream the fuck on

>FREE

Yes those taxes must be free too

doesnt explain why they have shitty schools and we have the best in the world, albeit expensive, would probably be less so if interest rates were higher and only the smart people were encouraged to go

I'm 100% sure American liberals would rather pay for college than have Finland's admission rates

>it works.
>country is still in flames
>gold reserves gone
>suffering under a tolitarian communist resgenme

>IT WORKS

>free

It's not free here.

>free

Well shit, when you put it like that, I definitely want to live in Brazil or Chile instead of the U.S.

Fuck outta here lol

>free
>pay for it your whole life even if you don't want to go to a 4 year university

also
>what are work study programs
>what are scolarships
>what is going to a CC then transfering credits to finish out at a big name university

College fees are high but students are ways to mitigate the costs with some simple planning. That is, unless you want the 4 years of "college experience" aka partying

>free

We don't intervene in shit that doesn't concern us because when we do, other countries call us imperialist conquerors and bitch that we need to leave. It's lonely on the top.
Also

A
FUCKING
LEAF

This is such propaganda.

In Germany they have kids take a test like the SATs. If you're smart AND you express interest in an actual college-based profession (i.e. doctor, lawyer), then they pay for college. Everyone else get some job training and kicked out of academia forever for being stupid.

(Then wide-open American universities will accept them, and foreigners will return with American educations).

Source: My friend at UConn in STEM just got accepted to study at University of Heidelberg for the summer.

They don't send EVERYONE to college over there. That's how they can afford it. Just like how they don't give EVERYONE health care. If Jimmy has a rare disease that effects about 5 people globally, and only $1,000,000 experimental treatments are available and they could save 10 people with cancer - they let Jimmy die. Which is the Utilitarian thing to do when you have social control of the money. Which is why having social control of the money is a shit idea. Because in a free market Jimmy and those 10 people could live so long as they/their families were financially responsible and I'd pay for none of it. Fucking god.

We sold 60m in gold. You guys borrow that every three seconds. Don't forget Canada ran a modest $1.9b surplus last year even after oil dropped more than 50%. Americans claim to be in full recovery mode smooth sailing best years ever yet you guys still posted a $500b deficit last year.

what are liberal arts anyway?

and you all can kiss your economy good bye as soon as NAFTA gets ripped up by trump and his lobbyists

Somehow students in Sweden graduate with roughly the same debt on average as in the US.

And that's why none of those countries have a university that's a household name. Sad desu.

>free

what about cutting pay for professors and administrators? not like they are going to go out and get a real job.

yes and of course the reason isn't because of ridiculous liberal policies that force colleges to constantly raise the price of admissions.

>most of the countries do not.

yhou're not a special snowflake, that shit is everywhere

the problem is the education system before the point where you choose what you 'want' to do.

if it was better, there would be less college drop outs, less shitty diplomas, manual jobs would not get frowned upon and looked at like they're some kind of less important job than say IT.

everything is fucked, people are pushed to sciences, even the ones who arent good at it and will never make a living out of it.
The ones who are still too stupid to study basic maths or physics go into retarded philosophy / writing / history / art classes where, again, very few people will actually be able to get a worthy diploma and make a living out of it.

every country has different education system, none is perfect, what is sure is that they all suck and the major cause of unemployment.

young people dont know what to do, dont know how to value themselves and their skills, end up depressed, work shitty jobs, unless you're one of the very few well rounded enough, well surrounded to go through all this and actually find a job that is rewarding in many ways.

its only getting worse every year, everywhere

WTF dude, you know it isn't true about Chile

Free is my favorite buzzword.

rfm
lol we've seen the writing on the wall for at least a decade now, we've already signed more than a dozen trade agreements in the last five years and we're about to sign the largest trade agreement in history.
>en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comprehensive_Economic_and_Trade_Agreement
Not to mention TTP which was negotiated on retardedly good terms to Canadians we only have to give up less than a fiftieth of our cheese market and allow in more foreign auto parts.
>en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans-Pacific_Partnership
Rumours we're working on a deal with China too. I'm not kidding all parties have made it clear we need to move beyond the USA if we want to keep our current standard of living.
>theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/china-open-to-historic-free-trade-deal-with-canada-under-certain-provisos/article28208595/

nafta is whats killing our economy

A lot of those countries rely on US military to help defend them. Let the EU countries become sovereign again. Remove bases, then we can put some money in "free" education. Those countries would lose their free education because now they have to create/expand their militarizes.

These leftie socialist paradises exist in part due to our capitalism and world police policies.

>A lot of those countries rely on US military to help defend them.
Meanwhile Russia is taking European lands as it sees fit and USA has been completely powerless to stop them.

payroll taxes around the world

Chile:10% (sales tax is 20%)
Brazil:31%
Germany:41%
Finland:21% (24% normal sales, 14% (food and fodder),
10% whatever else)
Norway:
France:30%. 20% sales tax.
czech republic:45%
Sweden:32%

and finally
US:15 to 20 percent depending on where you live.
sales tax is generally less than 10% and in some states nonexistent.

so, i mean, i guess you eurocucks and savages are ok with being slaves to your government. maybe americans, idk, enjoy more freedom.

also, youre paying for other children to go to the better university while yours goes to the shit one?

i like your meme though, OP

>DUDE FREE SHIT LMAO
>WHO PAYS FOR IT!?
>YOU DO

>Meanwhile you can't even muster public support to fight ISIS.
The public support is there, but why would our government fight its own puppet?

Free college has just resulted in college teaching nonsense and bullshit.

There's no reason to keep trapping young people under year after year of bullshit schooling. Just stop it.

Largest protests in history were because of the Iraq war. Obama didn't forget and that's why he has to keep repeating 'no boots on the ground'.

>free

Nobody on Sup Forums seems to remember February the 15th 2003. I don't understand how anyone could forget.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/February_15,_2003,_anti-war_protests

"Free college" it's about 100 000kr + for each year after grade 13. Med students pay about 150-200k per year. If you want to be a plumber or carpenter, your college is free. The high paying professions cost alot each year.

Thats just a blatant lie.
There ARE free colleges here, yes, but you need to take some pretty tests to get in (compared to high school tests, obviously). The free ones are the best but:
>you only get in if you had the money to pay a private and good high school (public education is a joke)
>in a shit state, people only care about communism and weed
It enrages me how only americans don't see they live in the best country in the world and keep looking for ways to make it shit

Don't you get a free/very cheap tuition in any state university in the world?

Poor people in state unis here pay like 200-300 USD per semester.
The most expensive uni here costs around 4500 USD per semester, but if you aren't an idiot you can get 95% fee reduction.

Payroll tax is tricky, we have a 9.9% payroll tax for Canada Pension Plan but most people don't consider it a tax. CPPIB has posted a 6.8% average annual return over the past ten years which is more than double my private RRSP so yeah it's almost the opposite of a tax. A subsidized and in most cases fully redeemable tax.

cppib.com/en/home.html

Check out those returns and be amazed.

>Pretty hard
Fixed
Also, you literally need money and connections to get into public medical school. Literally a mafia

>Look at which one has the highest rated schools.
Makes sense. We have enough debt problems already, so maybe free college should wait until we cut other things from the budget?

People never remember shit like this, and it makes me 500x more mad than having to pay back loans I got for a pretty damn good education.

agree

however, how do you make them busy ?
because thats what school until you're like 15 is about.

the modern family has both parents working.
So they would have to employ someone to look after their kids. But what would they do then ? educated at home by said employee ?
that doesnt look so good.

no, the real answer is to change the bullshit you're talking about, and teach useful stuff to everyone.

some people will never make any use of the math they learn in highschool.
they could use some teaching about cooking, wood working, etc etc

I'm not saying it has to be completely changed, but there has to be a better balance than today where indeed, most of the teachings are useless stuff that anyone could read about if they're really interested in it

See how my country is not on this list
Now consider the amount of people that graduate here
It doesn't have to be free
It's just American tier scamming that rises the prices

Free healthcare, psychiatric, dental (until you're 18), school for 13 years, they pay for a house if you're shit at economy and they pay for a car if you're handicapped an so on. The taxes are about 30% give or take. I get about 140 000 dollars a year, and I pay 32%. My sister makes 50 000, she pays 20%. It's not bad. I got run over by a trailer awhile back, it fucked me up, but I didn't have to pay a crown.

How did Iraq "finish the job"? We destroyed the Iraqi military also A FUCKING LEAF

> Free

> Quality

Pick one, and only one.

Didn't know about that, they sure showed them gringos that people's voices matter.

Talk about a waste of time.

I was in the military at the time and we were on the highest alert we've ever been on since 9/11. Everyone from the police to the fd were running over full blown anarchy scenarios. There were literally MILLIONS of people on the streets of some cities and virtually every western city had record protest levels.
We had 80k people on the streets of Toronto and it was -30c.

free and worthless

fresh

Is that why all Chileans come here to study and mooch off our taxpayers?

So you guys nearly shit your pants at the time but right when the hype died down they pulled the bullshit regardless.

Saddam died, Iraq became a fucking mess.

If anything that shit proved that people might bark a lot but won't ever bite (at least not unless some puppetmaster has plans to make a revolution happen).

It was before mobile phones and social media. Not comparable to what would happen in this day and age.

> comparing the third biggest country in the world to Ohio sized countries with one college and a 60% tax on it's people

US college education is the best in the world.
Our contributions top every list and have topped them for like that last 50 years.
There is nothing to defend, the results defend themselves.

You've probably never been to Europe, I live in USA, those of us who arent rich or ignorant would prefer socialism or full blown communism, so we didnt have to think about how many people die to keep us at the top of the colonialist pyramid. If you don't see why the poor shouldnt be expected to, and indeed shouldnt be trusted to look after their own health you're shortsighted. If you cant understand subsidizing education it's probably because you deserve a life of wage slavery and the only skill you can imagine successfully using, is threatening the rest of the world with murder.

>wow. I'm the valedictorian with a perfect SAT score. I sure do hope i get into that brazilian university.

Said literally no one ever.

You get what you pay for.

No. Enriched environments at young ages, interesting jobs as they get older. Education, not schooling.

>"free"

If you consider paying 40% of your income as taxes + VAT of 24% on most products + whatever else taxes/fees our socialist system demands for this "free" service more power to you.

I feel like the pic is misleading. College isn't free in Sweden, "gymnasiums" are. There isn't a huge difference but it's not the same.

> Brazil

> Brazil

> Brazil

> Brazil

The U.S has inflated costs due to heavy government subsidization in student loans.
Oh wait, you're too fucking stupid to realize that your brain shuts off when you hear the word "free".

We have shit-tier degrees too, you know.

well thats pretty much what I said

education about useful stuff to you and people around you, not teachings that turn most young people into mindless drones who care about nothing but their smartphones and videogames ( cooking and wood working were my 2 examples )

also dont forget that when you talk about 'education' to teachers nowadays you're only making new enemies.

most people think school should be to learn about general stuff, not educate children, because thats your parents job, and I think its right

my disagreement is about the things you learn that are mostly useless until you specialize in it later
