>MLS to STL defeated 53-47

RIP old friend, another Cali expansion team it is.

>soon

red states really hate new shit, even though they just lost the Rams. Not a smart state.

Anyway, who else is still in the "maybe" column?

Damn. That last goal was all fault of the GK. The ball wasn't even that accurate.
Until the next year MLS friendos

WHITE

This was a city vote, and STL proper is blue as fuck

So now that St. Louis got BTFO, who gets in?

I can't help but think this helps Sac and Phoenix.

Phoenix isn't happening

Then what the fuck is their excuse? Did the presentation earmark funds be diverted from orphanages, or something?

>PHX
Nah.

This is true, Arizona has already famously voted against letting any Hispanics into their state for any reason.

People can't/won't get over the whole Kroenke/Rams mess, think they'll just get jobbed again even though this is completely different

>FC Sallad
Never ever

>Doyle: Zimmerman and Hedges are so gopd xD put em on the national team already!

>choking 2 goals in the last 5 minutes despite being on course to progress

kek

KEK

so then how do they divide the teams up then?

a west team and 3 east teams is a little unbalanced

maybe Sac and San Diego get in? MLS has already said they won't put two california teams in this round, but with St. Louis failing, they might reconsider.

Sort of why I worry about Soccer City SD. Ownership group decided to jump on the special election happening in November instead of requesting simple permission from the City Council, but despite paying for everything, I can still see people voting against it because the local Uni doesn't feel it's getting its dick sucked enough by the current plan, despite it being a shit load better than what they'll have without it, or anything they'd be able to do on their own.

>not trusting billionaires

No, that's a sound philosophy, generally. Have fun being the new Kansas City (small market, shitty teams, no basketball)

Call it a hunch, but I don't think #MLS2STL is 100% dead yet....it already "died" at least twice before during this process
Gonna have to be one hell of a hail mary at this point though, it'll look beyond awful to circumvent a vote unless SC STL is willing to accept an even smaller share of city money in exchange

>they might reconsider

Need we remind you what other western city just signed a deal for a new stadium

>implying

The are already getting the Raiders, a furpuck team, and probably the A's within the next 5 years. too many sports teams at once is a recipe for disaster

It's going to be beyond hilarious to watch the Raiders become a laughingstock in this retarded stadium as the NFL slowly slides off into oblivion

That's why they'll need soccer.

mls in albuquerque when

more than perhaps any other sport currently, soccer requires a solid fanbase for the home team
vegas is a fucking tourist city

to be fair all Dallas' goals in the series were Blanco's fault, both keepers were equally shit.

The problem with the stl vote is that 2 different mesures had to pass for the stadium.

1 and 2. Only 1 passed, the city is so blue dem, that republicans dont usually run for mayor .

The fact that the city owes between 62 and 100 million on the rams stadium has soured the city residence on stadium financing.

The real kick in the balls is that prop 2 would also have paied to update scottrade for the Blues, built amature facilities, and a bunch of other stuff.

lol, what the fuck were these idiots thinking. Yes, let's try and get the city to help pay for a stadium after the catastrophic disaster of the Rams.

Seriously, if you really want a team and can afford the expansion fee, just fucking pay for it all.

Also, if I'm reading it correctly, pass 1 means that you may still get some actual infrastructure built? That's good news I guess.

Yes, an expansion to the metro system, some nore metro police ,oh and a sales tax of 9.3%

Next route will probably be to petition the state for the 20mil. ( they were willing to toss the nfl 470 million for a new stadium) or raise it private sector or move the stadium to the county and have the county vote.

I feel your pain

up here in Seattle, we've been pretty much guaranteed an NHL team if we can just build a goddamn arena in sodo. even the prospect of a 100% privately funded arena is too much for the city council and mayor.

it's easier to stop the tide than build an arena in a liberal city.

another year another lose
just like my tired life
why keep going lads?

blame garber.

the trick is to expect nothing but disappointment, then you can't possibly lose.

If only all MLS teams could play as well as Dallas did against Pachuca in the two legs. One of the best ties Ive seen in the Concacrap CL. If only MLS teams were more dominant at home

most don't even rate SS. Why would they possibly rate Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League?

cuse it gets you into the club world cup

>not falling for the public funding meme
good on you stl

>Caps vs Real Salt Lake
is real salt lake as shitty as their record indicates? If so, thank you based schedule

Chicago is gonna do it

So St. Louis is done?

Who cares about that shit?

yes

Yes

A city that can fill bush stadium when the bosnian national team comes to town, cant find 60 mil to build a stadium

Why not ask the county?

yes. hugely butthurt resident here. super pissed.

why dont they do it privately instead of with public funds? this public funds thing has got to end in american sports

if the vote was taken in the county as well i feel like it would have easily passed

right? so few people in st louis city proper would actually give a shit about a team. they shouldve received funding from the county as well

Raleigh can't beat Charlotte

What does Charlotte have going for it?

It's not even the Independence that's bidding, it's a new team that if they get picked, will kill the Independence.

Charlotte has a better primary market and better access to surrounding markets

Raleigh/Durham and Charlotte are considered the same market; the Carolinas. What puts Raleigh/Durham over Charlotte is that North Carolina FC already has an established fanbase, whereas a new Charlotte team would not.

Raleigh doesn't not have any reach in South Carolina
Source: I live here

Huh, I hadn't considered that. I guess Charlotte isn't a meme bid, but it's still weaker than Raleigh imo

>◖(´・ܒ・`)◗ BTR !!zlpfJ3fIerr

>Soon

I doubt that MLS will pass over Charlotte because Raleigh has a team
Plus I think Raleigh has the least rich owner
Meanwhile Charlotte has a great sports marketing proposal

fuck south carolina. Getting real sick of teams having to represent two states

Well they just lost to Minnesota, so draw your own conclusions.

>Sacramento

please

really sad for c o w t o w n, they did it right, I think, by starting up from the bottom for a few years before getting in.
then in comes scum diego losing their nfl team and leapfrogging the upstart.

In our defense, we endured a shit owner for years, and in came guys trying to do everything right they guy before them did wrong, showing up with a plan that pleases everyone Don't blame SD. Blame FS Investors. They put together a 12/10 of a proposal.

Listen SD, as much as I would love a CPL, a California Premiere League, with a California Bear at stake at the end, most of the other states/country would raise a stink over CA getting another team. So bitch all about chargers or whatever, just be aware of who you are hurting when you barge into mlels expansion, because I really think it is one and not the other sadly.
So play a sad song for this guy when his dreams are crushed.

>financially committed owners
>strong fan support for already-existing team
>plans for soccer-specific stadium, and in cali no less
>interest in MLS soccer, as shown in pic related
that's literally all the Don cares about

The easy solution here is to give Sac and San Diego teams. both markets will support their teams far better than any potential eastern conference expansion team.

yeah, it means California gets two more teams, but it makes the most sense for the league.

>yeah, it means California gets two more teams, but it makes the most sense for the league.

...

Jefferson FC when?
Riverside Wanderers when?
Death Valley Cacti when?

the problem is SoCal has too many teams, not northern california

San Jose is a good distance away from the sacramento/foothills/Stockton modesto market, but you've already got two teams in LA and potentially SD too

Delete this please
It's a very bad graph

10 million in LA County, so why not 2 teams?
There are more bodies overall down here, than up there.

Problem?
bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2017/03/30/heres-how-cincinnatis-soccer-passion-stacks-up.html

I have problem with the scale and the fact there is no label on the y axis

plus, it would make travel for west coast teams easier to have more California teams. less travel to deal with as apposed to a team in St. Louis or San Antonio.

>the numbers presented are each market's index value, which uses local consumption to compare local demand to the national average. Scores over 100 are higher than the national average (an area with a 120 score, for example, has 20 percent higher demand than the average), and those below 100 are less than the average.

still a bad scale

Jesus
Dallas isn't even my team and I'm still mourning their loss last night

How badly will Vancouver get killed tonight?

Where can I stream MLS games?

MLS Live or reddit streams

...

Where would we be had sawker not died so many times here?

>Reddit streams
Kys.

>rednecks hate soccer

more news at 11

Only for nationally televised games that are blacked out on MLS Live :^)
Finding dodgy streams of live sports is one of the only things that r*ddit is good for. That and porn.

nice quads. and didn't know beggars could be choosers.
put up the shekels and get mlels live then kiddo

I want to be surprised, but I'm not
As it turns out, people like having things, but don't like having to pay for them

I'd rather pay money than support that website, just like any decent human being.

then enjoy your shitty streams you picky idiot

Nearly everyone has said that the vote failed because St. Louis's soccer base was in the suburbs not the city

why does the public have to pay for a stadium again?
asking for a friend.

Because sports are cool and business people are not necessarily that charitable

NYCFC signed an e-"sports" player.

Just a thought
Jermaine Jones talks about his world cup and copa america performances as being reasons for him to keep his spot
But during those tournaments it wasn't a Bradley-Jones pairing but someone else added in
So why keep playing a 4-4-2 if they keep Jones in the lineup?

...

>brek shea is starting
gg

Realistically Sac, San Diego and Cincinnati make the most sense. It's just a matter of whether it's Sac or San Diego since they said they won't do two. I think they'll stick to that; Sac, San Jose, Galaxy, LAFC and SD would be overkill.

who here cheering for caps :D?

The last mls team in the champions league sure. Rooted for Montreal when they made the final.

right you are ken
