>Brazil return to top after seven-year wait
>USA up to 23rd
>England unchanged 14th
>Australia upto 50th
Fifa World Rankings
>7 (SEVEN) year wait
cool beans
>4 of the top 5 conmebol
>there are people on this board right now who weren't alive the last time a conmebol team won the wc
interesting
I don't think people aged 14 or lower browse this site.
that NZ poster is i'm pretty sure
>Netherlands down 11 to 32nd
You now remember that one month where they were rated the best team in the world
>mfw there are people on this board right now who won't be alive to see we winning the sixth
>Switzerland sneakily rising through the ranks
>Switzerland
how the fuck do they do it?
>yfw it's you
To be fair they've genuinely been alright lately. Didn't lose any of their Euro matches in regular time, have won all their WC qualifiers, including a win against Portugal. They might not be doing it particularly glamorously, but they've been getting results. Also Petkovic doesn't care for friendlies, unless they provide a tactical advantage, like getting the team some experience on an artificial pitch, before an upcoming qualifier on one. And friendlies are pretty much a lose lose situation.
>almost back to the top 100
thanks šuker!
I wonder how long until Sweden is at least on that list. Playing well against 6,7,8,12,13 last year and getting better. Watch out!
>not using ELO
Maybe yurop could overtake them if they stop playing against the likes of Malta and San Marino
>Peru
>17
They're 17 in FIFA too.
Where is Netherlands :^)?
#33, their lowest in history
>Uzbekistan one place behind
>Panama, Burkina Faso and Iran in front of us
Has Mexico ever beaten England?
These rankings are just a meme anyways
>he doesnt rate peru
Because it's actually a pretty good team that is expected to peak in 2018.
>very good goalkeeper
>above average midfield
>solid strikers
>good coach (I was proven wrong, I thought he would tank the team)
Nothing spectacular or ballon d'ore worthy but a rock solid product that grinds out 1:0 wins
>underestimating based incas
People like play them often and yet you think you know better.
>England record v Mexico:
>Games won: 6
>Games drawn: 1
>Games lost: 2
those two matches which Mexico beat them were friendlies
>Australia is still in Oceania
What?
Also, New Zealand in Rank 112.
lol @ that picture. every single match is a joke except for euros and portugal.
hilarious
>except for euros and portugal.
So, half the matches? And beating Hungary at home isn't as easy as it seems either.
Peru is twice as good as England and i'm not joking.
Hey, how else are we going to make some money with bets?
How are Brazil top?
Why aren't Portugal higher after just winning the euros
I remember them at Wembley a few years ago, they were atrocious. Mid level Euro teams like Denmark and Slovenia are better.
based Faroe
>norgay
>finngols
This "ranking" stuff is so bias and stupid. We all know these countries pay off these "statisticians" and "soccer-metrics" people.
Rankings don't mean shit until you get the W.
I mean look at us Americans, we're the #1 best country in the world and we're never ranked high in soccer, further proving my point.
USA rules
>half the top 10 are CONMEBOL
>only 4 slots in WC
>UEFA has qualifers with shit euro teams
>13 slots
because they didnt beat anyone lol
Uzbekistan is gonna catch you soon, they're probably gonna qualify for the next WC
good argument
this is now a USA celebration and appreciation thread

>ranking teams based on results of friendlies
>using said rankings to seed teams in tournaments
The fuck? How can you even call it a friendly?
How does Faroes fucking do it? How is a micronation better at football than 2/3 of the world?
Conmebol has 5. They also have only 5 competent teams so it adds up. 10 years ago they only had 2 competent teams yet still had 5 spots. Well 4 because Urugay got btfo by Australia in the play off, but they moved now.
who /top100/ here?
binland is elite
>norge
kek lmao
keep chugging those asthma medicines. maybe you'll climb up some day
Friendlies have a negative impact desu. You earn more than twice as many points from qualifiers, so friendlies will just drag your average down, since it's based on how many matches you play.
>1-0 is a draw
we simply beat shit overrated teams like yours lmao
thanks dentists, forever grateful
((Can't wake up))
You have to win those games, there're no free points left beside the micro nations.
>21st? after losing to mexico and CR in concacaf
>beat honduras, tie panama and Serbia
>lose spots
?????
Why tf are >we 23rd? Should be like 40-50, given how >we struggle against shitty opponents.
Benis :DDDD
They re the Greece of the late 2000s. Winning every team from Liechtenstein to Portugal by 1-0 2-1 etc, taking results with a mediocre skilled squad but with good discipline working as a team.
How's Brasil gone up from 7 to 1?
they won against teh yuropoor champs
should be ahead of us desu
>Brazil at the top
Not for long.
>tfw we used to be top 15 for a fucking decade
Top 10 soon lads
>gregorzychwkahczzhchz is the #10
those greek teams sure could defend
Argentina would still be #1 if Messi played games
>a few years ago
There you go
you guys could probably improve your development programs to get back up there if only you would pay denbts
UEFA does not have 13 competent teams. Proof is that englel always qualify
aren't they expanding the field to 48 for the 2022 WC onwards? so now even more shitty teams get to be in.
Yes, CONCACAF will have the same amount as CONMEBOL and a shitload of spots will go to Asia.
Fifa is just catering to those shit countries because unfortunately Vietnam vote has the same weight as Brazil or Argentina.
Ironically enough, FIFA insisted on the right of equal voting and equal revenue shares for its own corrupt purposes, because by designating the likes of martinique and gibraltar as equal countries on their own, those countries' revenue from FIFA serves as a significant local economy boost. which therefore serves as a bribe to let people like sepp do whatever the fuck they want within FIFA, so long as they don't get caught breaking international trade laws.
if they scaled the money only in terms of how much economic value those countries provided FIFA with, then a third of the member associations wouldn't be members, and some may not even exist at all.
100 years from now and this will still hurt.
We sent the equipment b, Friendly matches we give a shit
you treat your players as equipment? I thought south america abolished slavery a long time ago
WALES
switzerland are always way overrated in these
also france are underrated
what happened to iceland? why are they good
this doesn't make any sense
>86
AYYYYYYYY LMAO
That englel always qualifies is important for the fifa all the bookies and the entire economy of england.
Imagine there would be a period longer then two years between englel having a utter shit team that might not even get out of the group stage yet the entire country will bet it's life savings and even takes out big loans to bet it all on england wins the WC/EC
>it's coming home lads, dis be our year
It's just like the scouse boom-bust cycle
>pic related
meme magic obviously
so how many spots does uefa get for qatar? they have 13 now and theres 16 new ones so maybe 20?
France got fucked over by not having any qualifiers for the Euros. Though them doing well in the tournament itself balanced that out a bit. Switzerland have been doing pretty well the last few years. Not many losses in competitive matches, and not many friendlies to drag down their average.
Qatar 2022 will still have 32, it's 2026 onwards that will change. They'll also have 16 groups of 3 teams instead of 12 groups of 4 or 8 groups of 6, which is fucking retarded.
>Curaçao is the sixth best team in CONCACAF
And they want to give us even MORE spots? Absolutely insane.
>Northern Ireland
I didn't know they were actually good
They actually just came forward with their proposal a week ago, and will vote to finalize it on May 9th. Pic related.
Tax paradise countries really makes Concacaf interesting
That isn't the worst thing, think about 9 African and 8 Asian teams.
Women's FIFA is superior
>Not witnessing the DPRK's golden generation
If by interesting you mean absolutely disgusting and grounds for just dismantling the entire federation and starting over with no caribbean or south american nations allowed, then sure.
There's at least 40 teams on those continents that should automatically be treated better than shit nations like Curaçao guaranteed, more like 60 though.
>CONCACAF 6
So now the hex doesn't matter anymore? Just getting there is all you need to do, regardless of where you place in it?
They'll obviously introduce a new format for that qualifying cycle, where the 6 qualifiers come from separate groups. Which is a shame, because I like having the final round be just one group with all of the last survivors in it, especially since all the teams that can't make it that far are too shit to watch anyways. Now we'll probably get something like the gold cup with 3 groups of 4, except only the top 2 qualifying, or instead have 2 groups of 6 with the top 3 qualifying, and in either case that'd be the final round with no further stage to place the advancing teams into.
There's going to be a different qualifying format dumbo. Probably going to skip the hex and let the previous stage decide who goes. Maybe a a group of 9-10 like CONMEBOL. We don't know yet.
You need to kys if you watch women's soccer. USWNT lost 5-2 to FC DALLAS U15 BOYS HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
>few years ago
who cares it was a friendly.
They're good for actual matches
>2 groups of 6 with the top 3 qualifying
