The irony is that although Templars were devout Christians and first-rate fighters when they did fight Muslim armies, in terms of kebab removal in a general sense, they weren't nearly as fanatical as other groups. They defended Muslim traders as well as Christian pilgrims from bandits because Muslim trade was vital to the Crusader States and were fine with living alongside Muslims as long as they didn't hurt Christians.
There's a primary source account of a Templar trying to help a Muslim who he thought was facing the wrong way during his prayers. Not exactly the actions of an anti-kebab fanatic.
