>synthpop, retrowave

I've asked this before but does anyone have tips on lyrics writing? Or any links to sites that have advice? I'm working on a new album when I have time. Things are synth heavy, use different chord progressions for a change and have lyrics again.

google it nobody gives a fuck about your retarded music

Reccing the hell outa this. Good ol' Dave Roland. The king of Bandcamp threads.

heavily rec'd
Some general tips:
-whenever I think of a phrase or word or idea I like, I'll make a note of it
-when I need to get inspired to write better lyrics, I'll read a new book and some poetry to get my brain thinking about new things
Very very good shit, recommended

thx got some stuff to check out?

thx,I checked out your stuff and overall it is not my thing, but in terms of production it is top-notch, clearly made with care. However, the cosmodrome record works best for.Fav tracks: SFB 98-?? for the sheer variety of sounds, and PB 27-03 for the minimalist morse code stylz.

hugs and kisses

slowed down country shure sounds nice.
But the tracks need some more work. As it is I'd say Exeunt and Paridise Fell are the strongest tracks.

hey I like this

soundcloud.com/ilovetang/nothing-much
smiths/weezer inspired alternarock but with MORE REVERB
this our one song that's currently probably done unless our singer changes stuff again

it's some nice stuff, why haven't your recorded with a nicer set up?
doesn't take a lot to separately mic a few instruments

Currently working on a shoestring budget. We're trying to work our way up to a nice set up. It's kinda hard getting quality stuff where we are.
We have some new equipment coming in soon though

like it. i recommed this.

Hey guys, I seriously need some feedback. This is my first time composing something in 3/4 and i need to know what you guys think. it is far from finished but i have a few questions:
1. what do you think about the overall composition/how it sounds/makes you feel etc?
2. what do you think about the mixing, is it headed in the right direction?
3. does the percussion sound odd/awkward? (it was a bit of a challenge to make percussion in 3/4 sound somewhat natural to me)
4. should i use a different sample for the hi hat? (if you have a sample for me you think would sound great i would love you for it)
5. what do you think about the end bit? (I intend on making it longer)
Thanks much!

back
Thanks user.

I love the vibes on this one. Has a really dark country feel to it. Love the soft style of percussion on the first few tracks.

Kinda like this. The production style is really neat and I have a soft spot for noisy indie shit so it gets a recc.

Loving this. Loads of low end but it doesn't sound muddy. The glitchy hip hop style mixed with ambient reminds me of early Autechre.

Composition is nice, it has a kind of bittersweet quality to it.
Mixing sounds nice and clear mostly, though the hats seem drowned out a lot (not sure if that's intentional). The vocal sample and high end in the reverb especially are having an effect. Turning down the highs or using a delay instead might help.
Percussion is fine, emphasis on beats 1 and 3 makes perfect sense. It does feel a tiny bit repetitive later on so maybe experiment a bit more in places.
Possibly different sample if it helps cut through the mix.
The end part sounds pretty damn cool, though I think there should be something more happening with that cymbal. Maybe a touch of distortion or some stuttering, etc. Nothing over the top, just to compliment the change in style.

thanks man, i appreciate it a lot!
