I was bored by it

snoozefest

AOTY

t. plebs

Definitely a strong contender.

Classic Sup Forums being Sup Forums. Never change, fuckboys.

nobody else will be there, day i die, walk it back, tsoditd, i'll still destroy you, sleep well beast all good
the rest not so much

P4k normie core

Another solid drinkingalone-core album.

Too depressing

After the leak Sup Forums was all over it but as soon as it got a little too popular the contrarians started shitting on it

is borecore the new fresh meme here ?

...

And so it goes here on Sup Forums. Fuck this board and everyone on it.

The irony is that a good number of people were stoked on this release and had solid discussions of it when it leaked, and you had absolutely no idea who The National even were. You're calling it p4k normie core because that's where you saw the album art. Be less of a drone.

>tfw you lose zero sleep knowing you won't have to share this album with a bunch of underage faggots

holy shit the sad projection from the insecure white boy,
look this shit is fucking trash. if you want ppl to suck its dick. go on r/indieheads
perfect for you

shit album, but the title fits perfectly!

ageism and homophobia in the same post.what a surprise!

It's surprising and satisfying how good of a pleb filter the National end up being. It's so funny how when a band starts playing a little slower and smarter all the adhd retards on this board start calling it "boring" and "p4k-core" because they don't have the patience or attention span to unwrap whats going on

reddit: the post

imagine being this triggered at being called out

I guess you're just too enlightened for us

yeah you triggered me hard with your "2deep4u" meme, fuck off

...

their entire discography is a snoozefest

i'm a 30-something who listens to NPR and thinks i'm hip but wasn't really into this

like I'm sorry, but you just don't get it. Four posts in and you've only responded with autistic memes and buzzwords, and zero real arguments. Like do you think in buzzwords too? Your brain and vocabulary are fucked.

The National feature very layered and complex and baroque arrangements. Bryan is an extremely talented drummer and the rest of the instrumentalists come up with consistently unique and interesting pieces of music. Matt's baritone is very strong and gives the band a unique feel. His lyrics are always well written and thoughtful.

Because the band is usually a little slower paced and he arrangements are quite subtle, it can be hard to pick up what makes the band special by only giving them a single, inattentive listen, as I imagine most of you have. But with some effort, they reveal themselves as extremely talented. Give the effort required, you won't be sorry.

>reddit spacing

look bro that album was fucking shit
let me pimp you out to some good shit.

And another no argument. I'll take that as a concession, then. Try harder next time.

ITT: butthurt The National fans falling for obvious bait

The tracks felt disjointed from one another for how unified the album's sound felt as a whole - maybe could have benefited from more fluid transitions?

All in all it's all I've listened to since it came out. Don't think there's a track I don't like, love some of the electronic additions. I could easily listen to Nobody Else Will Be There on repeat for a few hours

A pretty enjoyable listen, I generally like The National for just how chill they are. If I wanna listen to something quiet they are my go to.

7.5/10

It's really great. Easily their best since Boxer/Alligator for me.

Decent, but not very exciting. Fits very snuggle with other 2017 comfy-core Real Estate and Beach Fossils.
