It was definitely a success
The ratio of killer to filler is somewhere around 13:1

Certainly got some filler but taking out the songs you don't like misses the point.

Abandoning psychedelic was the worst decision they ever made

I agree!

Post top five tracks no order

Dear Prudence
Rocky Raccoon
I'm So Tired
Helter Skelter
Long, Long, Long

they didn't even completely abandon psychedelia, there are still elements of psychedelic music in the white album and abbey road just not quite as many

and no, yoko ono was the worst choice they ever made

Happiness is a warm gun
Helter Skelter
Sexy Sadie
Blackbird
Good night

great dubs user

I try.

The best Beatles album

Fuck off big boy
I can gut this into a single LP

do it

You literally cannot

>there are still elements of psychedelic music in the white album and abbey road just not quite as many
like what?

Dear Prudence is psychedelia-esque and some of the songs on the white album sound like acid rock

I didn't mean to put 'abbey road' I haven't heard abbey road yet... I'm going to listen to it on its release date for that extra kino experience

How have you not listened to Abbey Road?

I hate people who say that the album should have been cutdown.

The filler songs are part of the albums charm

You want an honest answer? I'm pretty new to music so I started listening to The Beatles' discography this year in chronological order and I give myself time to take in each album and fully appreciate each one, so I spread each out and research the background of eac era and album and how the band functioned and what they did in those time periods. I've only listened up to the White Album.

I must say it's an incredible journey. I've heard Here Comes The Sun and Hey Jude, of course.

Not one bad song on the album.
Prove me wrong.
Pro tip: You literally can'T!

piggies and glass onion are clearly psychedelia

>paul's granny shit
>not bad

>taking john seriously
I bet you think "Ringo isn't even the best drummer in the beatles" wasn't a joke either

Like what, for instance?
What do you consider "Granny shit"?
An ersatz ska song about a man in love with a nightclub singer, who goes out to buy a ring to propose to her? A silly song about one of his sheep dogs? An ersatz folk/cowboy song about a jealous man who gets shot by the man who took his girlfriend away? A birthday song? A song about playing on a corkscrew slide?
What constitute's "Granny shit" in your opinion?

And even if it IS "Granny shit" why is that such a bad thing?

I keep monitoring this thread to see what granny shit is but the answer never comes.

Good answer, enjoy the journey.

I appreciate it. I sure will. Abbey Road is the next step.

People who love Abbey Road and dislike The White Album and Let It Be don't seem to understand that it wouldn't exist without the raw ness of those albums leading them to creating a more polished album

Side one:
1) "Back In the U.S.S.R."
2) "Birthday"
3) "Dear Prudence"
4) "Yer Blues"
5) "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"
6) "I Will"

Side Two:
1) "Revolution #1"
2) "Don't Pass Me By"
3) "Mother Nature's Son"
4) "Julia"
5) "Rocky Raccoon"
6) "Savoy Truffle"

It was an album.
A lot of people listened to it and a lot of people like it.

Its the beatles album i listen once a year, this means that its too long (but i wouldnt dare to take off songs... Maybe why dont we do it in the road) and doesnt flow at all... I just nitpick the songs i like (the worked ones, not those who sound like b-sides) now and then

I go and take a quick nap and they pull Rocky Raccoon off youtube?

why ditch helter skelter you absolute homosex.

let it be fucking sucks though it's a 6/10 which is awful for a beatles album

I fucking love Helter Skelter but I didn't reallyy think it would fit anywhere.
Maybe in-between I will and Revolution

Honestly, I can only see Honey Pie being granny shit.
>going back to home in a communist country
>buying a ring for a club singer out of nowhere
>musical shitpost
>songs about my dogs
>race relations
>spaghetti western
>songs about fucking
>love song
>birthday rock
>folksy song
>proto metal
>the only arguably granny shit on the album
That's Paul's stuff on the White Album.
