Been using torrent sites forever

>been using torrent sites forever
>all of a sudden

A wild email appears!

>tells me to stop torrenting things
>i'm using a vpn
>change to a different vpn thinking that one is bad now
>try every (free) vpn out there

>still getting emails
>can't download torrents anymore

>feelsbadman.jpg

wtf do i do b?
I feel like i've literally tried everything and still they send me and email every time
like oddly specific as well telling me exactly what it was i downloaded.

so here i am begging for some guidance because i know it can be done but networking is not my strong suit.

pic related tits for helping

You're hacked, get rid of your hard drive, change your passwords.

if it's FBI, they'd shut off your internet

checked

makes sense, but it's a letter from my ISP basically saying cease and desist.
i'm not worried about the fbi i'm worried about my ISP not letting me use their service anymore because they're the fastest around

well this thread really died quickly

...

...

really? nobody can help me?

...

you're probably not routing all your traffic through your vpn so it just connects like normal

dude that whole vpn shit is a scam i bet

Does anyone here know about seedboxes , might help OP out

I have been using Usenet for 20 years so I don't ever have to torrent, but Usenet needs a little bit of research and study, as well as a subscription to a premium news server

Don't live in a communist shithole

i was thinking the same thing but i double checked and still no good.
appreciate the input though

...

...

what kind of stuff are you torrenting? I think that could have something to do with it

just movies and TV shows really some games from time to time but GoT for example i never fail to get an email about. it's not every single time either which what's weird it's only sometimes

Free VPNs are shit.
Much like everything else in life you gotta pay to play.
You're already getting free shit via torrent.
Pay for your VPN you cheap fuck.

that would literally defeat the purpose. i were to do that then i might as well get hulu or something.

also, checked

Free VPNs are completely useless.

just ignore the letters and deny you're torrenting anything if they ask
blame Russia

change ISP

thought about the same thing, still makes me nervous though.

not really an option. i pay for 150mbps and i get it with these guys but i would have to pay twice as much to get 100mbps from their competitors.
>not cool
>checked

this has been discussed to hell and back in many forums over the years, the consensus I've gathered is that they can't do anything unless you admit to doing it. Mind you that might change if Net Neutrality regulation goes through.

i'm sure that's true, and i saw a thread about the whole net neutrality thing a little earlier which is what made me think to come here for some guidance. thanks for the input user

So take the money you're saving and pay for a real VPN you cheap fuck

Yeah you got one bad torrent it has spyware in it.
Scrub a dub dub that hard drive with malware bytes. Pic up a cheap laptop or something after you diagnose every torent you dl'd since the one that first found you.

I had this happen once (e-mail with specific dl) with some stupid lesbo porn vid I dl'd on a torrent. Shit is free all over the interwebz but I needed this one specific scene that ended up being lame anyway.

Stopped torrenting for a while
Think i switched to another computer
Rarely do it now but when I do its hella old stuff and in short sputs and then long ass periods of just.

Almost everything you will get from torrenting you can find on sites that provide music, info, vids, etc dl's for nothing and are not as well known.
The trick is finding that one key thats leads to the others......

and good luck with that cause I ain't Sharon.

thanks mate! i've been using showbox to cast to my tv and it's been working well enough but sometimes i just prefer to have the hard copy so hopefully this helps

Yeah I wasnt even using a vpn when I got pinched. Just a bunch of other general stuff...
ADP
NoScript
Avast combined with Spybot S&D

it was a long while back.

Could also be that I was using an antiquated torrent client.. so maybe update to the latest or something.
It might have been something that simple.

even with crypto if your usage is off the charts compared to your area they assume

could try to come up with something, big data analysis or something, multi petabyte sets

you'd have to not be an idiot to pull it off though

I'm interested. What's a good one to look into?
