Help me Sup Forums, I think i might be going crazy. Everything i look at, literally EVERYTHING looks like images from the Civilization games. I see unit icons everywhere. I'm not kidding. I don't remember taking drugs. I've been playing civ 6 a lot recently.

You maybe going insane

Civ 6 wasn't even that good, and I played 5 religiously.

I know, it just seems so out of the blue, i'm looking at the monitor screen and i see blue isometric hexagons

I'm serious tho, i see items from the game everywhere. Patterns. Like unit icons. I've never experienced something like that before.

I don't know stop playing the game, get some sleep, masturbate

if it isn't going a way in a 1-2 days, go to a neurologist.

You'll be fine, read up about "Tetris Syndrome" AKA "Tetris Effect" Just stop playing for a while OP.

its what happens when you grind in a game for like 10 h a day, you spent such a long time consuming brain power on this game that it's all you think about, just dont play for a day and you're gucci

Thanks for the advice, guys. It might be the Tetris Syndrome, but i've played games for longer periods (days) before and i've never had anything similar.

Oh my dear friend you're not crazy - you're suffering from intense derealization a real mental condition.

Most likely you suffer from depersonalization + intense derealization too.

If you're young and you also struggle to reintegrate your brain - you will go over it, like I did - also with the help of countelss psychiatry literature and actualy visits to doctors - aka under 25 your brain is still developing, safe and easy to heal.

Post 25 better learn to live with it, but not sure tho if that's 100% the case - I've dealt with my condition and I'm 21 now.

If you are 18 you still have time, first thing you have to understand is that YES you fucking suffer from something, thinking about it makes it more intense - probably it's highly linked to traumatic event and you still suffer from anxiety or induce it yourself when you become aware of the cartoonish way reality looks - every time you think about it more, it get more intense and you get more anxiety.

Honestly start to watch video series on the subject, youtube, read books, go to psychotherapy ( expensive as fuck, and books do the same - doctors just use techniques quicker ) - and self hypnosis is a must, helps you heal faster.

btw what do you mean by "a lot"?

This is an absolutely bizzarre experience. I'm 20. I hope it's this Tetris thing that user mentioned above, i really do. I should just delete the game and forget about it for now. Probably should quit gaming altogether for now.

probably 20+ hours in 2 days

Just download DSM and read derealization description.

Tetris syndrome might be a hood nickname for the actual disease, better read from actual specialists.

Usually your'e born with it and after traumas or stressful events it comes on top, revealing itself - but it's good if you try hard to fix it - you're good for life - never came back for me.

Also i'm struggling to sleep during the night instead of the opposite. I've skipped sleep altogether twice this week, so that might contribute to this shit

come on, don't sell him paranoia on top of all else.
If the effect dissapears in two days and never comes back, he's fine

stop dwelling in basement, then. Involve in a lot of physical activity, and some social interactions

I must say a lot of this stuff hits close to home. I'm spending more hours gaming and on the internet than in the real world.

OP is fucking fine, needs some exercise and probably a better diet and some sunlight. All this shit is in his head

Not OP but holy shit thanks user. I would picture falling tetris pieces all the time as a kid. Never knew it was a thing. Never looked up because it was pre-internet

>mental illness is in your head
yes, yes it is. you're damn smart, user

After grinding mobs in archeage all day i sometimes see health indicators on the npc's i encounter irl. I let them live though because they don't drop xp and the loot is shit.

come on don't be so thick you know what I meant

>they don't drop xp and the loot is shit.
you tried to do it? or how do you know?

I agree, this has to be the result of a lack of social stimulation. I don't go out much. I guess i'm more comfortable playing games all day than my brain is.

yes, I do.
and I still keep with what I said.
things in your head are as real for you as anything else in the world.
That you don't have his problem doesn't mean he doesn't have it

>i'm more comfortable playing games all day than my brain is.
I always wonder - why do you think this way?
do you believe in soul or something like this?

How often does that happen? Can you remember the first time?

except I do, and it goes away when I go do different things than whatever it is that I'm doing. Don't be such an obtuse faggot over nothing. Everything is in your head including the world from your perspective. OP needs to stop worrying about it and do other things if he dislikes it.

Lack of social interraction doesn't manifest with different perception of reality mainly visually.

Just trust us when we tell you it's something in your brain mechanically speaking, if it persists for the next weeks just fucking go to psychotherapy.

After I cured my DP/ derealization, I had years of antisocial / intense gaming periods with 0 impairments, they shouldn't give you any... it has nothing to do with it.

Don't rationalize your condition, try to find its reality - if you are not aware of the problem it will never work towards healing.

i get that too, sometimes

it's a clear sign you need some time off that game

I know that i'm the brain typing this, but i mean unconsciously. I don't have any control over this.

and we're all advising him just this. Only we don't dismiss his problems as bullshit, but treat them seriously.

your assumption that I'm being dismissive based on my word choice is stupid. Also if OP wants a serious reaction why the fuck is he on Sup Forums and not either asking a friend/someone he can trust or going to a shrink.

shieeeeet, can i do this whit porn?

I wonder how many gamers go through this kind of thing.

I hope it goes away by tomorrow, because while it was an interesting experience to be had at first, this is driving me insane.

actually, it's our cultural code.
It's common agreement that if you claim something is 'only in one's head', their problem is miniscule and unimportant.
just ask other people, see what they think about it

OP, you cretinn.
it will go tommorow IF YOU GO OUTSIDE

GO OUTSIDE NOW

SPEND THERE AT LEAST TWO HOURS DOING THINGS

everything is occuring/being experienced in your head though lol, its the truth even if some people try to coadapt it into something negative/lesser.

It's pretty late and realized it was happening about two hours ago, and i thought it would be best to learn from someone who went through a similar experience.

and I totally agree. But beside stating facts, there are also other meanings conducted by words.
it is as if you were having anal with some cute grill and said "I'm just putting my dick in a hole that's usually covered in your disgusting, smelly shit"

While technically true, it's not exactly what you should say in such situation.

no your just fucking a boring girl

Relax dude, it's just the "Tetris Effect": en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetris_effect

It happens to me all the time with whatever game I'm playing too much of at the moment.

This is pretty jarring the first time (and the last, hopefully). I thought i was transcending in the spiritual realm or some shit.

>wants not to transcende into the spiritual realm
wtf are you doing with your life, man

nah, man, i'm tired af, haven't slept today. It's not like i'm obsessed over the game, this thing can wait one night. Tomorrow's an errand day anyway

I mean, i'm all for it and everything, but it can wait 70 years.

Holy shit, i'm getting auditory hallucinations too. Birds singing from the game's sound effects.

Also i'm seeing the game map and even the static animations of the units, but only in peripheral vision, as if in a dream..
