it isnt. fuck off

I would also like to know. Why is the government telling a service provider that they aren't allowed to change the quality of their service depending on what someone's using it for not good? It's like if a gas station could charge you more or less depending on if you were commuting in your car or running deliveries in it.

Sisters perhaps?

...

...

It is not. Companies are trying to frame it as bad, so they can implement methods to charge consumers more.

this

...

Basically a couple of Congress men are trying to pass some stuff so providers can profit off the internet, like paywalls or quality of content. Which is stupid because that means you'll have to pay to watch YouTube or Google something and depending on your "online plan" so to speak, you would either end up watching that youtube video in 144p or 1080p or you could have inaccurate facts on Google or have the real ones. It's all complete bullshit if you ask me

i dont really care. only poor fags care.

Like most government regulation, it's designed to keep billion-dollar corporations from abusing the shit out of consumers.

Getting rid of NN allows ISP's to block certain sites if you don't pay enough money.

>if I'm rich, I'll still get all the same content

only a useless spoiled brat with no brains would think this.

Trust me, retard, when the paywalls start going up everywhere, the content you have access to will wither away because the people who make it will be censored by ISPs.

my internet went up 5 bucks this month and it is the shittest near dial up speed dsl, what the fuck do these niggers want? I guess not loyal decade long customers....

i really dont care rofl. i dont live in a place where the government is dumb enough to get influenced on US' dumb shit to remove net neutrality.

though there are many poor retards who still support this

Just happen already.

Ever wonder why there is no new beast porn? Because the US government forbade US banks and CC companies from dealing with any company that produces such.

Allowing a premium to be charged for /gif/ wont end OC outright but it will reduce OC which will further reduce OC as less people visit.

Too bad you will still most likely need to access some content from USA. Say, isn't google in USA? Or Sup Forums?

This, a lot of people don't understand that this is the case, it really needs to be drilled home

>Frank
pretty nice dollar menu.

>implying most of the content of the internet isn't made and hosted in the US, including Sup Forums

kill yourself you dumb faggot

Tbh. I have yet to meet a person who is in support of net neutrality.
I remember hearing about it during Obama. Congress tried to sneak in a bill and it was quickly denied. They tried a second time and failed as well.
The only people who could possibly be in support of this are old people who do not use the internet

sshhh dont be mad edgy guy. you guys will lose really soon to a shitty indian immigrant

they tried to sneak in bills to REPEAL Net Neutrality.

Get your shit straight, dummy, the entire internet (except for Russian trolls) support Net Neutrality

>xenophobic projections
your trolling is desperate and pathetic, level up noob

hmmmmmm
youtube.com/watch?v=1XUeMP6UIZc

Ajit Pai's main point is putting money in ISP's pockets will make infrastructure, and Internet itself better for anyone.
I wish some free market cuck would come in and start arguing that this will be exactly how it goes...
But not fucking delusional people understand that after receiving additional revenue out of nowhere companies isn't going to reinvest it in anything but personal wealth of main shareholders.

>uwaa
>my interneetz
>send halp
pls win pajeet

Says the kike

that guy would get wrecked by a nigger, who cares what he thinks?

time to learn japanese in a month and browse 2ch

Oh yeah that what I meant.
So basically, the government wants to make it possible for ISPs to throttle internet speeds?
Correct me if I'm wrong.
What can I do to stop it? Call my senitor? What else?
Also I propose we start to think of ways we could possibly beat this in practice. Just in case

I am Russian, I troll almost every day, and even I am in favor of net neutrality.
Btw, people who actually get paid for trolling actually need net neutrality, otherwise ISP will have easier time cutting off sweatshop troll houses, spammer subnets, etc.

All it really amounts to is that everyone will end up getting an account with IPVanish and Unlocator worst case scenario. Or maybe we'll all DIY like this: arstechnica.com/gadgets/2017/05/how-to-build-your-own-vpn-if-youre-rightfully-wary-of-commercial-options/

Roads and gas are already taxed like that.

How do you think companies like Comcast or Century Link run new fiber lines for gig service?

Anyways, I'd feel alone if there's no Sup Forums. How will this affect Canada?

so will I get charged more if I browse tranny porn vs normal porn?

Do you know how Internet even works, nubnuts?
ISP won't need to throttle everyone's personal connection, so VPN won't help. They will just for example throttle all connections to Hulu, and personally get your speed up to the site if you pay extra. Same goes to any big content provider.

No one cares about Canada though. No one even cares about your abundant resources to care about you, enjoy your nigger friendly government.

I would assume gay and tranny porn with be free. Straight porn will cost extra.

>How do you think companies like Comcast or Century Link run new fiber lines for gig service?
What, you imply that they are not making enough money as it is?
Btw, I am not American, so I never had to do anything with comcast or century link. But I heard a lot of bad stuff about comcast.

still better than zero memez

oh shit I am pissed now!

I imagine even the Russian trolls support net neutrality because it makes it easier for them to spread propaganda online.

Right, but that connection to Hulu would be going through a proxy so it wouldn't be throttled, so the ISP would see your connection going to something else which they don't throttle and then you're connected to Hulu through that exit node. Your speed would be limited by the speed of the proxy

lol after you pay for the international internet package for $29.99 extra a month nigga

Never remember the last time when I saw a canada meme, no one cares..

>ISPs are motivated to cut off sweatshop troll houses that boost their traffic

Don't be fucking stupid. They'll just make more money off them, that's all.

On an unrelated topic, do you jerk off imagining Trump fucking Ivanka? I bet a lot of you incest loving southerners do.

>Why is net neutrality bad?

Do you want the net to become cable television?

like if you're my ISP and you block me from something.com, my VPN allows me to get to something.com but to you I'm connected to someothershit.com

stop being a pussy nigger lover and think for a second, stay on topic, you can do it boy, I love how liberals let their insecurities effect their daily views especially when they are totally off topic. Enjoy your depression.

ISPs don't care about propaganda, they care about money

if someone is willing to pay to spread their propaganda (and they're already hiring an army of shills), they won't mind dealing with the ISPs.

think clearly people, this is about MONEY, THAT'S ALL

I mean if people have to pay extra to access certain websites, especially social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter or YouTube, that's bad for the Russian propagandists because it means fewer people are accessing those sites, so their propaganda is reaching fewer individuals.

When I see the yahoo comment section, I can't help but agree with you, the majority are pussy shills like this guy that will just pay more and shut up.

Are you retarded? Do you understand that having a proxy doesn't avoid going through any of the same cable connection? That data that comes from content providers still needs to be fucking accessed? Yes, you are doing it anonymously, but who gives a fuck? You wont get throttled down personally until you pay - everyone is gona get throttled until they pay.

oh no child porn downloads are slowed down, the humanity !!!

Cal your senator and representative, both houses of congress.

If it goes through, hopefully some ISP will refuse to follow the rest of the industry and we can use them and boycott the rest
>not gonna happen

Saying "there's NOTHING bad about it" just means you don't understand the issue from all perspectives. With any decision there are pros and cons, no matter how small.

1. Adding regulation of any kind adds to the complexity of the legal system. Net neutrality rules are already in place, so we're past this. But theoretically removing them would reduce this complexity.

That's basically it. The arguments at times extend past "complexity" and toward unnecessary stifling.

Mike O'Rielly is one of the five FCC people going to vote on this. He's one of the two people aside from Pai who plan on voting to dismantle the rules. He put out a statement about it that says: "The Internet was a vibrant place of commerce and public discourse before the rules ever took effect and will
continue to flourish after we discard this unnecessary and harmful regulatory overhang."

So that's it. The argument is that it doesn't help and can make companies stuck in regulation.

>
if you are shill, there is no difference, it has already happened... They are just trying to effect other people that avoid and do not fuck with them, that is why I am mad...

My friend, I don't think you understand how a VPN works. A DNS VPN for example doesn't change or hide your IP at all, it spoofs your internet connection location. You're under informed

so?

The point of propaganda isn't too inundate every individual in endless bullshit, it's to dominate the conversation.

It doesn't matter how big the conversation is or how small it's forced to be, Russian propaganda will not be limited at all.

it's the exact reason how Unlocator can still get you netflix from another region

>They'll just make more money off them, that's all.
Duh. Thanks captain obvious!
Where do you think money to pay for that connection will appear from?
Guess what, from people working there.
What topic? Canada? I thought this thread was about net neutrality. You don't seem to eager to talk about that, cuck.
I am all for net neutrality, fuckboy.
YOu trumpies are soo simple. If I don't like someone - he is shill. If he is shill, he is for everything I am against.
Unfortunately, world doesn't operate like that.

No Bait Here, Honest: Me and the Wife were talking about this today, and she asked me "what is your position on Net Neutrality" and I honestly can't think of why anyone would not want it, even though I have a basic distrust of the Government.

So please, someone tell me WHY getting rid of Net Neutrality would be a Good Thing. Because for the life of me, I can't think of a reason, but I'm open to persuasion.

in the United States, we require our airlines to have seatbelts. A seat belt on an airplane doesn't make a lot of sense by itself, because it isn't going to make a real difference to your safety if the plane crashes. The express reason the travel department requires seatbelts on planes is because it requires the plane to have seats for the passengers. Some airline companies want to gut the seats out of planes so they can pack people in like cattle. The tickets will cost the same.

The internet connects people. It hosts the sum of human knowledge. It is quit possibly the most significant invention in our lifetimes. The more people that have access to the internet, the better. Net neutrality preserves the internet by preventing ISPs from acting as arbitrators for content. It isn't just about money, its about control. By paywalling access, they can restrict certain demographics ability to gain knowledge.

>that is why the mainstream looked at the internet like this will never take off, then they got pissed and felt left out...

I didn't vote for Trump though just because i post a pic of him laughing at you, don't you and your insecurities have some kids or young actors to molest?

>people who work in sweatshop troll factories will have to pay the ISPs

wow, you're REALLY stupid

the people who run sweatshop troll factories have plenty of money to pay off a few measly ISPs.

Get your fucking head straight.

I am done fucking explaining it to you. Do whatever, IDGAF.

So, say you're comcast and I'm with you and you block me from Hulu. A certain type of VPN can make Hulu think I'm not coming from a comcast connection while at ther same time make it look to comcast that I'm not connecting to Hulu. Get it yet?

Dominating the conversation is simply a means to an end. The ultimate goal is to influence public opinion and, by extension, public policy. In that sense, their propaganda is the most effective when it reaches the greatest number of people.

Like the ones that implemented it would have to pay the fees or have fees paid to see their shit. Like the senators have a private line for comcast.

I'll make sure to vote for him in 2020 though just to piss off irrational resist what pussies like you...

I love how a small irrelevant hand full of useless idiots make the country heal and move foward. When is Hilary going to suicide ?

>I didn't vote for Trump though just because i post a pic of him laughing at you
Obviously not, you voted for him because you are fucking retarded.
>don't you and your insecurities have some kids or young actors to molest?
I thought it was an older rich white guy thing?
I am not one, so I am not into that.
>money grow on trees
>no cost on employer will ever hurt employees
How is 9th grade treating ya? It is about time for you to start actually thinking about how economics work.
Staying with your mom untill 30's will work for you too, I guess.

...

I thought the seat belts helped with it became very turbulent,

Oh, it is fucking easy as fuck.
You are the one providing internet access to Hulu. All you need to do is throttle all incoming connections from all people but the ones that bought you Unlimited huluacess superplan tm. To get full speed, you will need to always log in from the same IP though. Sucks for dynamic IP fags, but I am sure your provider will be able to provide you a static one. Maybe not free.
How bout that?

That's a very simplistic model and not realistic at all.

In reality, opinion and discourse is concentrated in specific conversations at specific places and opinions are disseminated from there.

The truth is that social media sites like Reddit are HUGE formers of public opinion, and that won't change even if traffic is throttled down.

The opinions will still get out to everyone, our world is too interconnected to avoid that. The only difference is that it will be easier to control the initial conversation in areas that are influential to public opinion.

You are literally arguing against your OWN FREEDOM to stream/download movies/music/documents online or even post on a shitty site like Sup Forums.

Anyone against net neutrality is a cocksucking, subhuman omega male faggot whose opinion is of no value.

the main aspect of the regulation is that companies CAN'T regulate and cherry pick your access to the internet with slow lanes or blocking you altogether. if you pay for access to internet, you get full access to internet.

getting rid of net neutrality is MORE regulation...it's just the companies will be allowed to regulate it however they want, although they will have to disclose it to the consumer.

so basically net neutrality rules prevent companies from over regulating access to various parts of the internet.

He is just asking the question, fam, relax. Aren't you supposed to at least state your stance on the subject to be considered "arguing"?

I voted for Hilary your minimum wage minimum logic nigger lover, even if a muslim was fucking your wife you would come up with excuses like that dumb nigger lover in Canada that stated when the enemy sleeps with your wife you win.. you pussies will come up with any excuse for anything, that is why you will be slaughtered or any battlefield or your homeland when shit kicks off, can't wait to visit canada...

That wouldn't be the ISP doing that though, in your scenario that would be Hulu doing that. An ISP can't dictate what connections Hulu themselves allow to be incoming. Unlimited Hulu access superplan would be Hulu not your ISP

That's a good point. I suppose, at the very least, it remains to be seen exactly how the loss of net neutrality will effect cyber propaganda efforts. Hopefully we won't ever need to find out.

Why so mad?
I don't care who you voted for if you are this retarded though.

cyber propaganda will continue becoming more influential no matter what happens, of that I'm 100% certain

*on

see no one even cares about canada to even overtake it, they just steal your benefits internally, thank gawd some Americans still have pride in being a MAN

your IPS could charge you extra to try and connect to Hulu, but you can go thru a proxy that makes them not know you're doing that. And whatever Hulu charges for an account is what Hulu charges for an account

>That wouldn't be the ISP doing that though, in your scenario that would be Hulu doing that.
So Hulu just appears in the internet? They don't have internet providers? Ok, fam, IDGAF as I stated already.

Fuck yeah, love this pink girl

I can't be mad when I am not a pussy cuck giving up my points of views to others so easily, or forcing them upon them. Seek help my insecure friend...

A website doesn't havbe an ISP, it has a domain

So am I forcing them or giving them up?
> Seek help my insecure friend...
No amount of projections will ever make your daddy love you. I am sure you can forget about his neglect in some strong, manly strangers arms...

For sure, yeah. But I find it very hard to believe that the loss of net neutrality would have no effect at all, since we're talking about a major change to the way the Internet functions.

but what they charge for accounts is also effected by the nature of traffic they're receiving through ISPs.

e.g. if the ISP charges customers to visit your site, they've already filtered the ones that are willing to pay money for your content, so you probably want to get in on that action too

So domain where Hulu hosted appears directly in the internet?
Yeah, I bet. Not like ISP's own most of infrastructure...

Are there any more of these? It got my attention.

Sure, things'll change, but I'm sure they already have contingency plans and projections in place, this isn't amateur stuff.
