Fuck title II. The internet was removed from that dinosaur of a rule set in 1996. It was only recently added back two years ago. Those 19 years saw the internet explode in quality and availability.

Things like tenement housing being illegal and enacting general safety standards are good. All that needs to happen is for the penalties to be adjusted for inflation. Unions are largely ineffective, nowadays, because they lost all of their sack and most won't strike. There's also a distinct lack of unions in silicon valley and the tech industry. They can strike and bring the cable companies to their knees, if only they were unionized.

Title II makes sense because of the necessity for so many public services that rely on it as well as the enforcement of standards being completely reliant on the service being classified title II. As it stands, there is no punitive measure any regulatory commission is able to employ, unless the internet retains title II.

Also, you're basically saying that the censorship in the hands of the corporations is better because. I think a publicly held office with a legal need for transparency is a better option than the conflict of interest you're suggesting is better. At least this way, they can take action against unconstitutional censorship, as they've done in the past (whether censorship was intended or not).

ISPs have proven time and time again they can't be trusted with that much control. When given an exclusive deal, they stagnate and flat out refuse to make things better because that's what NO COMPETETION does to the market. If you think that removing regulations from businesses that already have the market cornered is going to increase consumer rights, you're sorely mistaken.
