Probably Km Deal. Kim Gordon is better overall though, if you include songwriting and singing in the equation.

d'arcy or kim deal

out of that group? easily weymouth. then kim deal. the others are shit

Grimest

Please don't tell me that's Deal at top right

Weymouth and then Melissa Auf Der Mar

>tfw no token bassist gf

it is

Easily Kim Gordon. Best voice, best tone, best songwriter, best legs

Jenn Wasner

Also Jenny Lee Lindberg from Warpaint

the feels man :(

From that group:
>Kim Gordon (actually went on to be an above average bassist and songwriter whose sound really fit Sonic Youth)
>Kim Deal (solid bassist, especially for the Pixies, plus also played into their sound really well - also good songwriter)
>Tina Weymouth (Talking Heads had some funky basslines even if they're not particularly special, but she wasn't really that good and session musicians were used at times)
>D'arcy (Billy Corgan played many of her parts in the albums, seriously - can't defend that)

>best legs

have you seen weymouth in the late 70s/early 80s?

Tal Wilkenfeld you fucking knobs:

forgot pic

Weymouth, easily. Go listen to any of the funkier tracks on FoM, RiL, or SiT

Who's bottom right?

No female bassist has come even close to Esperanza Spalding

>PBS core

Kim Gordon is good

d'arcy wretzky, smashing pumpkins

...

Name a female bassist who can play bop, funk, r&b and latin music with the expertise and musicality that she has

Carol Kaye.

I agree that Carol Kaye is easily the best female rock bassist, but she is not touching Esperanza in jazz, funk and latin music

Not touching her in jazz or funk? She's played in bebop bands and with Joe Pass for crying out loud.

that one nip bitch from tricot

I didn't know that played with bebop bands, which bebop albums was she on? Also her playing with Joe Pass on four tracks on the album is not that impressive. I do respect her as a bassist and do believe she is one of the best, I just think that Esperanza Spalding is the all around, better bassist

she was so hot. never mind she was in one of my favorite bands and all

This, Tina was the best and the sexiest as well

There's too many to remember. She's also played with Cannonball Adderley. I'm not arguing who's "the best", nor do I think that's possible.

The one with the Thunderbird.

how come bassists always have such nice legs?

see also Paz Lenchantin

longfu

Gail Ann Dorsey

maybe weymouth but gordon was overall the most talented

Kim Clarke

I'm leaning towards Gordon/Deal for actual playing, but 90s D'arcy for most qt

this

Who is top left?

Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth

I DONT THINK SO

Thank

bump

Tina Weymouth undoubtedly.

...

...

>best
best

...

darcy was so bad that corgan had to play bass in the studio for her

all your bassfu is shit
>no kira

Looks like the debate has ended. Tina wins!

Tina can't win if Kim Gordon already won.

I sorta messed up the last post...

Debbie Googe
Gaye Advert
Jo Bench
Kim Deal
Kim Gordon
Kira Roessler
Lori Black
Naomi Yang
Toody Cole

Melissa Auf Der Maur

he also recorded iha's guitar parts himself, and he's a fine guitarist. it has nothing to do with iha or d'arcy being bad and everything to do with corgan being a massive control freak. besides, he loosened up after siamese dream and d'arcy and iha both actually had their recorded parts on mellon collie and adore, the former of which features arguably more technically demanding songs than the first two albums anyway

This.
Imagine working with him. The guy is a crackpot.

OUTTA MY WAY

Kathi Wilcox

also Gail Ann Dorsey

That chick from the Subways
