As in the early stuff is seen as classic while the new stuff is seen is garbage?
What's the Spongebob of Music?
Weezer
Violent Femmes
Pixies
Rick And Morty
Death Grips
Almost every band, the real question is who is the Seinfeld of music; Who started off bad and ended (or are currently) great?
Probably Weezer, Violent Femmes, Pixies, or Death Grips
Swans
>Rick And Morty
Sup Forums is that away --->
but post-2010 Swans are shit
...
Radiohead, Ween, Tyler the Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, The Microphones
The Moody Blues
>Ween
They should've just ended with Swans Are Dead I would've been fine with that.
>Radiohead
Pablo Honey hate is overhyped. The album was nothing special but Creep is better than what most bands were doing at the time
>Ween
NO
>Tyler and Earl
Still shit
If To Be Kind was released in place of The Great Annihilator then it would be widely considered the best, but okay.
i like the seer though :( some of their most beautiful work is on there
>No. Creep is good, nothing else is, and The Bends is quite mediocre as well
>Their early tapes and stuff are p shit, and especially compared to their peak are extremely amateur and shitty
>I doubt you've listened to Solace or I Don't Like Shit, but if you have, you have shit taste
Swans Are Dead isn't even that good- it's literally just songs from Soundtracks/The Great Annihilator but worse. They completely butchered I Am The Sun and Mother/Father, and Animus, the best song Swans have ever done, isn't even on the album (and yet fucking Hypogirl is?). They should've ended with Soundtracks, no live album needed.
Swans Are Dead is identical to their '10s trilogy.
I don't know man, I vastly prefer The Great Annihilator over To Be Kind, though I do like both to an extent.
There's live versions of tracks from Michael Gira's solo album Drainland, Jarboe's solo album Sacrificial Cake, Young God, The Angels Of Light album New Mother, & the Skin album Blood, Women, Roses, but okay. I also highly disagree that they butchered the tracks, but I respect your opinion.
Not really.
I was just referring to the songs from those 2 albums, I figured I wouldn't go into more detail than I had to. I do prefer the Drainland and Young God versions of their respective tracks, and New Mother is one of the best things Gira has ever been involved with, so there's not much you can do to top those versions. The point still stands, though, I guess. I haven't heard Blood Women Roses and Sacrificial Cake yet, are those any good?
every 70s kraut band
>Ween
Yeah, I think they're worth listening too. Personally I'd recommend just listening to the 'World of Skin" compilation instead of the individual albums.
The Smashing Pumpkins.
>Ween
Fuck off, their debut is a 9/10 easily
Did you read the OP? having a 9/10 debut would be hitting half the criteria
DID SOMEONE SAY- -chocolate?
Shakira with her latin-rock crossover album "Laundry Service" and now with her new album "El Dorado" which is just Ragaeton.
Spongebob always sucked. Let's get that straight.
Thinking this as I opened the thread

Being retarded means I'm welcome on Sup Forums, r-right?
objectively incorrect
Erica Peterson's Flaming Crib Death, Crucial Squeegee Lip, and Axis: Bold as Boognish are all dog shit, and then they really found themselves on God Ween Satan and so forth
Death Grips
those don't really count as ween albums though
? They are albums released by the band Ween are they not?
What's wrong with new death grips though?
But new DG is better than old DG
Mac Demarco
death grips got too popular for Sup Forums
>mu used to worship DG
>DG becomes more popular
>now its popular opinion to hate DG
The contrarians really get the noggin joggin
They were like super limited cassette releases made for them and their friends. I doubt the ween guys consider them real albums at all
I hate Hipsters
Does that count as new stuff though? They were made 15-20 years ago
dg is my favorite band and the hate they get on this board seemed to happen right after bottomless pit came out
The best career move the Grapes of Wrath could have done was never release JD
>Pablo Honey is good
>I Don't Like shit is shit
you have bad taste
Emerson, Lake, and Palmer
when will radiohead drones die off
t. likes some radiohead
Death Grips
absolutely true, now i laugh like an idiot, when i was a kid i didnt even smile
>Creep is good, nothing else is
>nothing else is
oh hey there, just warped in from the alternate dimension where Blow Out doesn't exist and isn't the best song on the album, gotta say you're totally right with that statement
Flaming lips
Nautilus Pompilius
> not liking Exmilitary
>Creep is better than what most bands were doing at the time
VENTURE OUTSIDE 90'S MAINSTREAM ALT ROCK
Fucking this. After the mid 70's, those guys fell off HARD.
