cheap guitars are an art form learn to work wood and make your own bodies

Thinking bout pulling the trigger on a Heritage H-150 for $1250. Pic related though not the individual instrument I'm looking at.
Either that or I go with a G&L Legacy (USA) made. Whats Sup Forums think on this?
Levi Davis
Well, Heritage is the REAL Gibson and G&L is the REAL Fender. Quite the quandary.
Adrian Collins
Thats what I'm thinking. Not to trash Gibson or Fender, they make good guitars. But I feel like you get a better guitar with Heritage and G&L (excluding Gibson/Fender Custom Shops which are obviously great)
Also, its hokey, but something about G&L and Heritage as companies is attractive. I feel like Fender and Gibson need some decent competition.

>okay I'm finally going to learn this difficult song >30 seconds later >fuck this shit, nevermind >puts guitar down
rhythm is one of the things i struggle with the most. What are some good tips to get good at rhythm
Jonathan Peterson
Literally just buy a metronome with a sound you can tolerate and play with it all the time. Alternative get some kind of quantizing drum sequencer and play along. Loop pedals help too because if you're off when you make the loop its super noticeable.
Luis Reed
I actually learned that one slowly over the last few years. It's not that bad if you can fingerpick okay. I just kept playing it really slowly till it got to muscle memory
That being said, the one from The Yes Album, Clap, I'll never figure that one out.
Isaiah Flores
I gave up a couple years ago and moved on to just writing my own shit. Maybe I'll revisit it and take it really slow.
Jayden Nelson
rate bass and drums that i added over this voice+guitar recording
If you want some competition with fender and gibson I would recommend checking out godin and maybe finding a used one somewhere that you can get for cheap. They are Canadian made and very high quality and are pretty wacky with synth and piezo pickups often put into their electrics.
Bentley Ross
>pretty wacky with synth and piezo pickups often put into their electrics. looking for an instrument, not a retard child's toy
Tyler Adams
I've checked them out and I'm not a fan of their aesthetics although they seem like cool instruments. This is not me, I am the person who posted the guitar pic. I seriously wished blue boards had ids
Wyatt Johnson
Fellas, I bought a PolyTune clip and a promo code for the Plug-In was included. I won't use it at all and someone might find it useful for their DAW's, like half the price is okay or whatever

Hey guys. Just recently got into playing bass (Friend had one and I really want to play with him so want to learn bass) Can anyone suggest me if buying a cheap bass is worth it for beginner or is it better to spend the extra money for quality? Also, any suggestions on brands is encouraged. I'm clueless and if anyone with knowledge on the topic.

Okay /gg/, i have a question that's been on my mind for the longest time
I've been playing guitar for at least 7 years now, but i am self taught, so one thing i never understood was, why is it that sometimes during live performances, etc. when the guitar player switches chords he puts his hand back at the first fret and slides it up to the new chords without actually touching any strings, so they're definitely not doing a slide.
Is this just a motion guitar players do to lower tension in the hand or something?
Example, but to a lesser degree, since he only slides his hand back down to 8th fret or so:

Do it man, get the heritage. G&Ls kind of suck and are overrated desu.
Jackson Cook
I own a Heritage H-140, it's a fucking excellent guitar. You'd be silly not to buy it. Depending how old it is you may want to replace the pickups. If it has Seymour Duncan's then it'll be fine.
On that, I have been thinking of replacing the bridge pickup in mine. It's a custom 5 and I was thinking to get something more PAF like
Regardless it absolutely BTFOs any of the standard/trad Gibsons I've tried

>tfw i realized i spent ~$14,000 usd on camgirls in the last calendar year

don't even regret it desu. It's nice having a full time wage. Can afford all the shit I want in a few extra months
Chase Nelson
I love the guitar. Almost fills the void of no gf
Brody Scott
i definitely regret it. that money is all fucking wasted.
i'll chalk it up to learning experience i guess
Luke Walker
I would regret spending $14,000 on camgirls vs only $2,500 on colognes
At least I have tangible things that will keep for many years if stored correctly (which they are)
Joshua Walker
yeah. i have fucking nothing to show for it
man i fucking hate myself. i should've at least got an american made fender ffs.

Get to it if you haven't already

Interesting, why do you think G&L sucks? Just curious as its the first I've heard. Yeah I've played a few and they always feel excellent at a cheaper price point. Haven't played G&L yet.
Brayden Gray
My H-140 was cheaper than competing Gibson's, only a bit more expensive than a Studio
Just bought a G&L Rampage tribute lol. Probably will be a few days to a week before it gets here though
Wyatt Jenkins
string tonality is getting on my nerves
