Songs with motherly and reassuring vocals break me so I always have a wahh to Kate's singing. Pete does good as well.
Only song to ever make me tear up. Happened on a drive down a lonely road on a cloudy day

kinda
I'll clarify btw since my song choice probably seems weird
>3:36 specifically, when that guitar builds up to the synth and the synth hits... every time.
It made me break down crying when I was on mushrooms, and now it still has a similar effect even when I'm sober. To me it's like the song is saying something, like it has some sort of deeper meaning, even though it's just instruments and synths. Really weird.

I'm a pretty depressing person. This song brings me a tear to my eye, but I love it and listen to it a lot to help me keep going on.

Only song to make me cry besides Bach's Joy of Man's Desiring. At first it comes across as a violent and angry piece of music with the repetitive drums and arrhythmic howls, but there is a massive tone shift once the main rhythm is introduced. A meditative and calm atmosphere takes over for a brief passage, still with the driving tom drum. The bassline here is gorgeous yet childlike with its simplicity. Another tone shift occurrs when the "verse" begins. A new bassline is played in this section, and this is what brought me to tears. The atmosphere for the remainder of the song is sexy, surreal, and above all sad, or at least gives off a sense of longing. The tension in the bass at this part brings me through so many emotions, and after my first listen I was bawling. Easily the most impactful listening experience I've ever had. Enjoy the noise. Or cry about it

I've yet to find musical frisson in a pop song that comes close to this.

The last part of Glass' Einstein on the Beach just about does it for me too, but just after finishing the whole suite.
