I just received a reply from my senator on net neutrality, Sup Forums.
> however, I also believe that such federal mandates would unduly inhibit this industry's investment in new technology and job creation. Moreover, the Internet and online content have thrived in the United States without net neutrality, which throws into question the need for more government intervention.
>I am encouraged by Chairman Pai's recent proposal to keep our Internet free from greater government control. Net neutrality threatens the innovation and economic freedom that have made the Internet a powerful catalyst for job creation and growth.
There's no way this shit is fucking real, right? It was in my spam folder, but it comes from pat_noreply (at) toomey.senate.gov
What the actual fuck, Sup Forumsros. Does anyone else's senators feel this way?
they are paid to "feel" that way. Welcome to citizens united and money in politics
Lucas Morales
Yes, thank God
Justin Barnes
pretty much this. I doubt your senator gives two fucks about net nuetrality and is just speaking for a lobbyist
Joshua Wilson
This is some fucking bullshit. I don't think we're going to win, bros. :/

Can someone please tell me how lobbying is even legal? Is it not bribery?
Kayden Hall
This. The world is burning and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. If you thought there was a good route for a good ending you haven't been paying enough attention. The only way to save this world would be for the ENTIRE white race to go full pol NOW and instantaneously. but that wont happen. However, in 50 years (less more likely) the world will "end" Humans will exist still and humanity / the planet will survive, but there will be few humans left compared to now. I'd estimate a world war three as soon as the oil runs out. Nature is preparing to cull us as we speak.
Logan James
care to provide some arguments for your claims?
Levi Reed
Why, you would just cherry pick one point to counterpoint and ignore everything else that is inconvenient to your narrative. If you couldn't make any logical or sane rebuttal or retort you would resort to name calling and personal attacks.
Grayson Perry
Still doing this unproductive shit dude? I mean, it's your life but dam

What's the deal with this net neutrality anyway? Everyone wants shit to stay as it is, so what's the deal with these people trying to change it? Literally no one is asking for it.
Aaron Jackson
The big corporations are asking for it. They want the power to strangle all competition and force even more of a monopoly on us.
Julian Allen

If you are a liberal leftist that loves big government, you like net nuetrality. If you are more conservative, think government is too big and intrusive already, you're against it.
Jace Lee
ThisThe only "government control" on the internet, is that of stopping ISPs from throttling/blocking shit. Literally. The "government control" that the Sen. was talking about is not control of citizens, per se, but corporations.
Corporations don't like it. This is like their 8th time trying to pull this shit.
Brody Ortiz
Big corporations are just like.. 40 different people. But here we have hundreds of millions of people who are saying no, and they'll keep saying no.
So why keep going when their proposal keeps getting shut down by literally everyone but 40 people. It's basically just a huge annoyance to everyone.
Tyler Wood
I'm not mature at all Why do you think i'm on Sup Forums you retarded autistic lifeless no girlfriend having shit head faggot

>liberal leftist >more conservative >you like net neutrality
no, every single person who could be effected by it and finds out what it actually is, is against it. there are no political ties, there is no separation of opinion.
Samuel Perez
You are an uninformed idiot. Owners and operators of networks don't need the crushing grip of government around their throats. Never has government intervention made a product better or more affordable. But you knew that, you're just a leftist commie.
Adrian Sanders
...
Jordan Watson
>since it has only been implemented since 2015. No, it's only been ENFORCED, properly, since 2015. It's always existed, and there were lawsuits against corporations the interfered with it. The corporations lost. Now, it's illegal for them to do that shit because of 2015.

It's an abomination and by all rights should be prohibited. It's legal because the only people who can outlaw it are the congress, which happen to be the ones benefiting from it. So it's like asking a judge to rule against themselves.

I'm a conservative and I think net neutrality can fuck right off.
You don't have a right to the "internet". If you want to use someones service (like, an ISP), it's business between you and them.
Don't like the service? Stop paying for it.
You're the same fucking moron wanting to legislate that a health insurance company needs to cover "pre-existing conditions", because you actually aren't sure what the difference between insurance and healthcare is.

I'm a conservative too, and you don't understand NN. >You don't have a right to the "internet". NN is not a "right to the internet", it only prevents ISPs from preventing you from visiting websites, and/or throttling your data. That internet that you already paid for... why should they be allowed to charge you extra to view a certain website, or to not slow it down? That's bullshit. It's essentially extortion: "Pay us more money, or we're going to slow your shit down!"
Go read some shit on NN, or watch a video. You're clearly misinformed.
Except that's not true. We've crossed into a time when you cannot reasonably live without the internet. Need a job? Good luck "pounding the pavement" pops. Need to pay bills? Apply for credit? Interact with many government services? Hell, I don't think you can even get a library card without a valid email address. And it will only become more necessary. Because of this and the fact that it is held as a legislatively protected monopoly in the vast majority of the country, it should be held to a much higher standard. Those who ignorantly parrot "leave it to the free market" only show how incredibly weak their understanding of basic concept is.

If a private business bakery doesn't want to bake a "gay pride" cake with a dildo in the middle, I believe they have a right to refuse to provide that service.
Therefore, I also believe that an ISP has a right to modify their service as they see fit, even if it's not beneficial for you.
If you don't like it, withhold your dollar or switch to a different provider.
The answer isn't asking the government to force the service provider to bend to your will.
You aren't a conservative.
Nolan Hall
I wasn't the moron that said government intervention never helped any product be better, try not painting with such a broad brush next time faggot.
Christian Wright
the net neutrality shit only came into effect in 2015 so we only had it for 2 years so why are you bitching about it getting removed when we were ok without it for so long?
Logan Nguyen
no congresspeople give a fuck about you. get into reality and stop wasting your time with this garbage
