The chip is a programmable flash memory device.
components-center.com/product/Microchip-Technology/AT90S2313-10PI.html

some type of electronic thing, I would say.

...

Go find some loli thread you fuck

What does the writing in the first picture say?

Not sure.. a friend sent me this, inquiring what it was.

Credit card clone. Used to test chip readers, or duplicate a stolen card's info

Note the silver contacts on the chip side of the board. If you lay a cc face up on that side, I'm betting they line up with the chip contacts.

Is that why it has 20 pins on one side and eight on the other?

Prostate stimulator. You insert it in your rectum.

The pins on the other side are the interface to program the required data into the flash memory chip. I'm guessing there is a programming device either is a stand-alone device or is a usb driven port.

show me the thin long edge of the black part.

ITT people who dont know electronics make wild assertions.

And people who don't contribute.

don't let me down, bros

Looks like the circuit board from a cheap laptop hard drive.

its a fucking old school laptop wifi card

I am working on it

First of all it was made for Compact computers...so there is that

egg

Card reader for laptop

bump still working on it

in the first pic what is stampped in the plastic in the corner? i can make it out

still working on it

Are you making another fucking clock Ahmed? Stop taking shit apart.

lol

double the faggot, i see.

if you poke on the metal things there, does it giveway?

Does it have to do with a 3 1/2 in floppy?

>First of all it was made for Compact computers...so there is that

Well I am an idiot. that says COMP ADJ Not Compaq

i'm not sure -- i don't have it in my possession, unfortunately.

Will /b solve the mystery?

Something you should shove in your ass

Well hell OP how did you get the pic of the end of the black part then?

from my friend.. he sent me four pics originally (this is the last one).

it's meant to program cards for satellite receivers.

life-is-a-hack_ blogspot_com/2010/07/free-laundry-for-everybody.html

credit card ripper

or smart cards in general

So far, no one has provided any solid evidence as to what this shit is. Post sources.

see
it's for programming smart cards. hence the 8 pins on one side.

It's the modem memory upgrade card off of a texas instruments Ti 99 computer.

cable box card

Here it is in all of its 80s glory

It's a boot strip for an old satellite reciever

almost looks like something you shove in a ATM

Dare i say, solved?

bitcoin cryptovault

I might be able to identify if you put it in your ass.

Salty milk and coins

I think its some kind of vsat hack module

no nut November just ended get on your roof and expect flooding

it uses the arduino atmega
prolly some adapter for pci ports in order to program it

go on..

What is the text on black portion?

We don't know.

PCMCIA card for a laptop

Sure is youngfag in here.

found the microcontroller datasheet

atmel.com/images/doc0839.pdf

prove it

see

It's a midi card
Probably for a shitty keyboard

>god detected
what would be a typical use case be for this?

what does it says on the black thingy?

>Kek

You can program these to do literally anything

Is anyone getting paid?

Nope. PCMCIA pins are more densely packed....

...

microcontrollers are usually use for stuf whichh require low processing power and need to be speedy, vending machines, heatseeking missiles elevators, some minor drone functions as well.
the card is most likely a pci adapter for programing said chip. though i cant be sure without looking whats inside the black box.
thats y i was asking what did it said in the black part

its pci, look for the port in which ur gpu is installed on the motherboard

I don't think it is intended for any edge connector on a motherboard. The silver contacts on the edge appear too wide. (Even for the old vintage motherboards.)

It was used to hack dish network back in the day. During the earlyish days of Nagravision2 encryption. You could program the card the Atmel chip to emulate the satellite box smart card. Only problem was that there was an ASIC that wasn't cracked yet. So, this card would go in the slot, programmed to act as a smart card with everything wide open. The slot on the back was to hold an "opened" card with a slave card image written to it. The card would then be only queried to get the result of the MAPROM ASIC. Worked great for quite a while. Made it so the "opened" card wouldn't get fried when they would send down countermeasures.

...

great thread.

Show us the other end of the card. If it also has a slot or holes for pins, it is an extender card used for troubleshooting some machine, or the slot programing of some automation. The spacing on the pins puts it probably in the late 90's

Damn I miss the card coding days....

Good times.

th card seems fairly new or at least in really good condition, it could be a card reader but a si said you would need to be able what the black box says or at leasat open it and lok at whats inside

in electronics the problems are always because of black boxes

That shit looks illegally sexy

no 1 can fry any hardware with a signal. unless its really bad designed. unlikelystory. though it could be a card adapter for cable box but more info is needed

It's a circut board with 2 intergrated circuts and 2 resistors. If you take higher quality photos I can give a better guess on what it does. It looks very amateur and most likely came from a kit for a newbie hobbyist.

>0104 date code
well-preserved, to be sure

feed the need

what did you do with it? What hardware and software did you use?

...

The hell are those four silver boxes?

oh yes. yes they can. It's part of the coding of a smart card. If it senses that it's program has been corrupted, it loops itself. ruining it. It's called looping a card, because it sends the card into a program set that is a continuous loop that no longer performs its intended function.

These I had. I remember one hide and seek game with bugs and the beatnik looking bug would say "I'm high" instead of "I'm hiding".

Not sure what it is, but I do know I used to get free direct tv with one back in the day.

Go read up on smart card side channel attacks. The cards are intentionally designed to fail if tampered with.

Oh yeah, it's the companies property too. So they can do it all they like. Look on the back of a satellite box smart card. It'll say "Property of Nagravision" or "Property of NDS", etc.

It Looks like a card for hacking direct t.v. or bell tv. They were popular before tv feeds got big on the internet

Direct TV didn't use equipment. it was for Bell Expressview or Dish Network.

OP here: It says ""ITT CANNON" on the black plastic part.

if its the same thing then it a wild goose chase...

"ITT CANNON"

there is a Ninja named "T" at the end of that one

welp its an adapter alright
ittcannon.com/products/listing.aspx?t=connectortype&q=214&parttab=#

also important to notice the microcontroller its suposed to be detachable so its meant to be replaceable for another one which supports de programming adapter theory and the calbe box theory
